Get easy access to the prescription drugs you may need. Prescription drug coverage is included in your plan. Your SHBP retiree health plan includes prescription drug coverage, so you don t have to enroll in a stand-alone Medicare Part D plan. The plan s approved formulary (drug list) includes 100 percent of the drugs covered by Medicare Part D. Please review this plan s drug list to be sure your prescription drugs are covered and what tier they are in (not all drug lists are the same). The drug list is updated periodically throughout the year, and the list of covered drugs may change as drugs are added or deleted from the list. To help control your drug costs, it is important to learn a little about drug tiers. Each drug in your plan s drug list is found in one of four categories, or tiers. Each tier has a different copay. For the lowest out-of-pocket expense, you and your doctor should decide if Tier 1 medications are right for your treatment. Includes many common brand-name drugs. For this tier, you pay the same copay as Tier 3. Many drugs on our drug list have other generic and brand-name drug choices in lower tiers that treat the same conditions, but cost less. If you re taking a Tier 2 or Tier 3 drug, you may be able to switch to a lower-tier (Tier 1 or Tier 2) drug and save money. UnitedHealthcare has created a Preferred Extended Day Supply Network for SHBP retirees enrolled in this plan. This benefit allows SHBP members, in the state of Georgia, to receive a 90-day supply of covered drugs for two copayments. Only pharmacies that have signed the Preferred Extended Day Supply Agreement are contracted to dispense at the 2 copay amount. See the 2011 Local Independent List on page 6 to find a participating pharmacy near you.
