Save time and money with the specialty drug program The specialty drug program is an easy, convenient and cost-effective way to order specialty drugs and have them delivered right to your home. And when you get your drugs from a pharmacy in the specialty network, you can be sure that: You ll save time. Your drugs will be safely delivered to your home. Working with the network supplier that you choose, you can make delivery arrangements to fit your schedule. You ll save money. When you order your specialty drug each month from your specialty drug supplier, you only pay your health plan s copay or coinsurance amount. No more car, cab, bus or other transportation costs to the pharmacy to get your prescriptions.
But remember, if you don t use a specialty drug supplier, you ll be responsible for the entire drug cost. You ll get quality. The specialty network suppliers are accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) the highest standard of pharmacy care. You ll get expert advice. The specialty network supplier experts provide drugs and services to patients with complex health conditions, including: l> Answers to your questions about selfadministered injectable drugs l> Information and materials about your condition and medications l> 24-hour access to pharmacists to answer questions about your drug(s) Here s how to get started You can get started with the specialty drug program in just two easy steps: Step 1. When you re ready to start the program, you just need your member ID card and the address and phone number of the doctor who prescribed your medication. Step 2. Call one of the specialty suppliers listed in this brochure to get started and continue to receive the drug you need. How to order refills. A professional representative from your specialty drug supplier will call before your scheduled refill to verify your prescription and dose. He or she will discuss any
changes your doctor has ordered, answer your questions and coordinate your next shipment. Specialty supplier arranges each shipment. Since specialty drugs usually need special handling and storage, your specialty drug supplier can arrange to deliver them when you re home to accept and provide a signature. That ensures your drugs won t be left in conditions where they can spoil or be lost. Other prescription drugs. Only select injectable and oral medications are available through the specialty drug program. Continue to get your other prescription medications as you normally do. Your out-of-pocket costs. When you use a specialty drug supplier, you ll pay only your health plan s applicable coinsurance or copay amount for specialty drugs. There are no additional costs for shipping and handling. Remember, if you don t use one of our suppliers, you ll be responsible for your entire drug cost.
