I am Assistant Professor in Political Science at the Department of Cultures, Politics and Society of the University of Torino, and Research Associate at the Faculty of Governance, Economy and Social Sciences of the Mohamed VI Polytechnic University in Rabat. Thanks to my double scientific affiliation, I assure the scientific coordination of the bi-national master programme in Comparative analysis of Mediterranean Societies promoted in partnership by these two institutions. In addition, I am member of the Fonds d Analyse des Sociétés Politiques in Paris (FASOPO) and head of research at the Torino World Affairs Institute in Turin (T.wai). My research interests focus on the government of inequality and the role of non-institutional actors in the processes of State s formation and transformation. I am particularly interested in entrepreneurs and business life, youth and associative activities, and marginalized people and dynamics of inclusion and exclusion. My principal field of expertise are Morocco and Italy. From this perspective, I am currently writing a manuscript on The Discrete Sides of the Formation on the National Space in Morocco, based on a five-year research activity on the role of entrepreneurs in the process of state formation, I am concluding a comparative research on Demographic representation of social justice in Morocco and Tunisia, based on a two-year research programme on the practices supporting the construction of youth as a public problem and the mechanisms of inclusion and exclusion, and I am coordinating an international research project on Dissent and the social question in Morocco, based on a three-year research agenda on the plurality of the practices adopted for coping with social issues and their processes of legitimization (together with Béatrice Hibou, Research director at the French CNRS). I have a good track record in research project design and external fundraising at national and international levels, both as PI and as member of team research. In parallel to my academic life, I developed a five-year experience as consultant researcher on topics dealing with my research interests. Amongst the purchasers of my expertise there have been the French and the US Development Cooperation Agencies, as well as the Swiss Conference of School Directors (CRoTCES). I have discussed the results of my works by presenting papers in international conferences in Italy, France, United Kingdom, US, Iceland, Spain, Morocco, Tunisia, and Switzerland. My works have been published in Italian, French and English, on peer-reviewed journals Meridiana, Revue Internationale de Politique Comparée, Politique Africaine, Maghreb et sciences sociales, Urban Studies, by the publishers Guerini, Bonanno, Viella, l Harmattan, Karthala and La Découverte, and by the academic collections Les Etudes du CERI published by the Centre for International Studies and Research at Sciences Po Paris, and SPS Press published by the University of Torino. Amongst the scientific initiatives I have recently organized there are a panel on The Formalization of Injustice by Figures and Numbers (3 rd Meeting of African Studies in France, University of Bordeaux, June 2014), a cycle of seminars on The European Agenda facing Mediterranean Crises (at the University of Turin, between May and November 2014), and an international conference on Political Transformations and Religious Resurgence in the Arab World (at the University of Turin, in April 2013). I have a strong record of teaching experience and student supervision at bachelor, master and doctoral level, at the University of Torino (BA, MA and PhD level), at Ca Foscari University in Venice (MA level), at the University of Sassari (PhD level) at Paris I University Sorbonne (MA level), at the Haute Ecole de Management in Casablanca (MA and PhD level), at the Hassan II University in Casablanca (PhD level) and at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes et Sciences Sociales in Paris (research seminars). In the AA 2014/2015 I am teaching Political science (BA level) and Field Research in the Mediterranean area (MA level) the University of Torino, and Introduction to Comparative Politics (MA level) at the Mohamed VI Polytechnic University in Rabat. 1
