Known Issues and Bugs This section details outstanding issues and bugs associated with running Brocade 4100 in a Sun StorEdge SAN Foundation Software 4.4.4 environment. Switch Related Issues The following bugs are listed in order of increasing priority (P). Bug 4753552: During I/O and prolonged fault injection, multiple ports on a SilkWorm 3800 may fail to complete initialization and remain stuck in a G-port setting. As a result of the G-port setting, the host loses access to the storage unit on these ports. Workaround: Disable and re-enable the port, or disconnect the FC cable at the switch side and re-connect, or power cycle the storage device that has the G-port setting. Bug 6230637: Fabric boot of S10 from a x6768a HBA via Brocade 4100 may hang during boot. When this occurs, the host console output will indicate no I/O activity between the HBA and the boot device. Workaround: Issue the boot command again. It is not necessary to reset the host. Bug 4997477: Switches with 4.2.0 firmware do not always recover after running a disable/enable test. Workaround: Enable the switch/director manually with CLI. Bug 4864806: Calling sectelnet from an expect script fails to login to switches with FOS v4.1.0/v3.1.0. Workaround: None at this time. Bug 6234304: Brocade switch details revision format via SNMP has too many trailing spaces. Workaround: Use CLI or WebTool to display the firmware revision. Brocade SilkWorm 4100 Switch Release Notes 4.4.0b Firmware 9

Driver and Utility Issues The following bugs are listed in order of increasing priority (P). Bug 5056021: While the SE6120 is busy processing I/O and a SE6120 CLI is used to change configuration, for example hwwn add..., this might force all LUNs associated with the active data path offline. Workaround: None at this time. Bug 6238080: Running the T3B/SE6120 lun perm command when the array is on redundant fabric might cause one of the data paths to failover. Workaround: None at this time. Array Firmware Issues The following bugs are listed in order of increasing priority (P). Bug 5068068: During the SE6120/SE6320 administration procedure (for example hwwn add... or hwwn rm... ), the host server may offline the data path to the SE6120/SE6320, especially when multiple hwwn add... are executed in quick succession. Workaround: Do not add lun or run hwwn commands in quick succession. Leave a gap (i.e. 10 to 20 seconds) in between commands to avoid a RSCN storm. Bug 5072558: The QLogic driver does not ignore LOGO with an invalid SID (0x0) and can result in a data path that is unusable. Workaround: Issue luxadm -e forcelip... to reset/reinitialize the link. Miscellaneous Issue Bug 6216205: A fabric boot with SG-XPCI2FC-JF2 (375-3157) or SG-XPCI1FC-JF2 (375-3156) fails when connected to a Brocade 4100 running FOS v4.4.0b. Workaround: Do not perform a fabric boot with the above HBAs via Brocade 4100. Only perform a fabric boot via a Brocade 4100 with other HBAs, or use the above HBAs connected to switches other then a Brocade 4100. 10 Brocade SilkWorm 4100 FC Switch Release Notes April 2005
