Relay2 Enterprise Cloud WLAN Network Controller Provides the power of enterprise network services without the complexities and cost of traditional hardware- based Wi- Fi controllers The Relay2 Enterprise Cloud Controller lowers the cost and simplifies network management and administration of enterprise class WLAN networks without sacrificing the performance and power of traditional hardware based WLAN controllers. This is Relay2 s solution to the complexity of corporate networks, the difficulty in scalability, and the risk of a single point of failure usually associated with a hardware- based WLAN controllers. Offered at the lowest TCO (Total Cost of Ownership), the Relay2 Cloud Controller is offered as Software as a Service (SaaS) with various services including WLAN network provisioning, monitoring, controlling, and RF optimization all of which are administered via a Web Console without the need of installing any server software. Relay2 Cloud Controller interface Highlights Simple and rapid deployment with Plug & Play installation Scalable coverage across thousands of Access Points (APs) Dependable IT functionality by placing all needed services within the Relay2 Enterprise Cloud Multi- site network management with policy enforcement, configuration, and monitoring for distributed locations Lowest TCO by converting the CAPEX (Capital Expenditure) of a hardware controller into OPEX (Operating Expenses) Ease of service integration & feature upgrade No single point of failure Simplified IP networking without requiring separate network layer configurations (management, data, control networks) PRDT- 0036 v1.3 Relay2, Inc. 2014. Removes Single Point of Failure Problem HW- based controller with a single point of failure vs. Relay2 s Cloud Controller s solution to the problem A single point of failure can occur with the use of traditional hardware- based WLAN controllers. Because both the Control and Data paths from APs flow through a hardware- based controller, any errors or the controller s failure will cause the entire network to fail. Therefore, the traditional hardware- based controller can become the single point of failure within a corporate network. The Relay2 Cloud Controller SaaS eliminates this problem. It separates the Control and Data paths allowing each AP to create an independent session. Even in the unlikelihood of failure in the Cloud Controller, APs will continue to deliver network traffic without compromising the corporate network. PRDT- 0036 v1.3 Relay2, Inc. 2014. Cloud- Powered Enterprise WLAN Services WLAN management controller architecture comparison Relay2 also provides enterprise WLAN services with centralized control in the cloud. Relay2 Cloud Controller eliminates the downsides of using hardware controllers - high cost, single point of failure, complex deployment, and more. It can control thousands of APs across distributed locations and uses secured connections to corporate network. Benefits include: Scalability The Relay2 Cloud Controller enables simple, rapid AP deployment with no physical hardware connection boundaries or subnetting restrictions. Wireless coverage can be expanded by simply adding more APs to the network. Whether the networks are on multiple floors, or across an enterprise campus, or at different locations around the world, the administrator can instantly monitor and manage configurations of all the networks from anywhere using Relay2 s cloud control power and any browser. Truly Centralized Management With no hardware controller connection boundaries, Relay2 can deploy their APs across multiple sites. Relay2 Cloud Controller provides a truly centralized management environment, which can streamline policy enforcement, configuration, and monitoring over a distributed, large- scale network. WLAN as a Service Unlike other solutions, Relay2 s WLAN management is an ongoing service rather than another hardware product to purchase. By providing the cloud controller technology SaaS, Relay2 s architecture requires no capital investments in hardware and software controller products. Instead, Relay2 allows for the outsourcing of the WLAN management services and turns the traditional upfront CAPEX recurring from hardware purchases into simple OPEX for end customers. Value- added resellers or service providers can create recurring revenue from offering AP & Cloud Controller solution as an ongoing service. Flexible Business Model with the Lowest TCO The Relay2 Cloud Controller SaaS model also allows for a flexible business model for system integrators and service providers with the lowest cost. By eliminating the need to purchase expensive hardware controllers, feature licenses, software upgrades, and maintenance support, Relay2 offers an option to simply license its service, at the lowest TCO of any enterprise- class WLAN management. Future- Proof Investment The Relay2 Cloud Controller never has to be replaced. It is constantly updated with new features and enhancements and continues to add value to the corporate network system long after a hardware- based controller has reached its useful lifetime. Features Performance and Scalability Scalable Coverage Relay2 provides highly scalable coverage to create thousands of 802.11n APs in one or more networks. Wireless network management coverage can be expanded by simply adding additional APs to the existing network. Auto RF and Load Balance Cloud- based network- wide auto- optimization can dynamically adapt to the changing interference environment to fully utilize the available wireless spectrum and maximize client performance and client density in the given environment. High Availability The Relay2 Cloud Service is hosted in multiple data centers around the world providing a level of availability that has been impossible with traditional hardware controllers. In addition, Relay2 s cloud architecture provides out- of- band control to ensure that the network functions & APs continue to operate even if Internet connection is down. Multi- Tenancy Multi- Tenant Account The Relay2 Cloud Service is a multi- tenant platform that provides secure and hierarchical account management for service providers and their customers. The cloud management platform offers easy graphical traversal flow for the service provider to manage and monitor its AP customers respectively while allowing the end users to plan and monitor their own WLAN network anytime, anywhere from any web browser. User Management Role Based Access The Relay2 Cloud Wireless Management System offers various account access roles. Each account role is associated with a different managerial view and capability to fit the need of the enterprise IT administration requirement. PRDT- 0036 v1.3 Relay2, Inc. 2014. Centralized Management Multi- Site Management A single interface can manage multiple branch offices and buildings. Web- Based Interface Using the web- based interface, Relay2 Cloud Controller users can gain access to the controller without any special software client installation and administer their WLAN from anywhere around the world. The Relay2 Wireless Management System offers feature rich graphical user interfaces such as at- a- glance dashboard view for current status of the deployed APs, easy to understand provisioning page to help configure RF properties and WLAN characteristics. The end users can take the advantage of the monitor and statistics view to identify the WLAN state as well as the wireless client and traffic distribution in real time. The Relay2 Wireless Management System also provides numerous customizable reports of wireless client statistics and configuration changes so that the enterprise IT staff can easily keep track of the changes made and adjust them if needed. Remote Floor Map and Heat Map Tools The integrated Relay2 floor map and heat map tools help the IT to simulate AP deployment layouts before changing the locations of APs. Platform Relay2 Software Relay2 uses secure, robust, high- performance software built from the ground up that can self- configure with minimal administrative intervention. Software Update Service Relay2 s software service is always up to date. Without the need for software installation & feature upgrades, Relay2 applies automatic AP firmware updates to customer networks. Out- of- Band Control No client traffic flows through Relay2 Cloud Controller, ensuring maximum performance and data security. PRDT- 0036 v1.3 Relay2, Inc. 2014. All rights reserved. 6

Relay2 Control Tunnel The cloud control interface is built as a secure tunnel between APs and the Cloud Controller providing network provisioning, monitoring, and control without the need for any special network configurations. Security Customer Account Isolation The Relay2 Cloud Platform is designed to clearly separate and isolate managerial and monitoring traffic from each customer account. Customer accounts once activated are assigned with their dedicated virtual machines (VM) to operate as well as designated traffic ports for securing administrative traffic to Relay2 Cloud. Hence each customer account is kept individual and confidential. Client Traffic Isolation The unique design of Relay2 AP and Relay2 Cloud Controller separate the wireless client data from administrative data. The wireless client traffic is never passed to the cloud controller and is contained only within the customer s local network. Therefore, even when there is lost connectivity to the Relay2 Cloud Controller due to a maintenance cycle, the wireless clients will never lost their connectivity to their local network or the internet. Rogue AP Detection The Relay2 Cloud Controller detects rogue APs from all the deployed Relay2 APs at customer sites. The Relay2 Wireless Management System lists the detected rogue APs which the administrator can monitor and remove them from the list. PRDT- 0036 v1.3 Relay2, Inc. 2014. All rights reserved. 7
