Horsemeat isn t dangerous to eat but people are angry because they thought they were buying beef. Is it ok to eat horsemeat? We asked pupils in Stockholm. I think it is quite sad for the horse because even they have a life for themselves and its really quite sad if human beings just kill it and eat it up. It s really sad. Horses are fed drugs which can cause serious blood problems to humans so I think it s definitely not good to eat horsemeat. I think; why should we eat horses when we don t eat cats and dogs and they lied that they were selling horses in the supermarkets. It s certainly really not good to lie to people because if people get sick from eating that meat and they complain to the police, they won t be able to sell meat in stores any more. In February, pop star Lady Gaga had to cancel her concerts. She had injured her hip and had to have an operation. The singer was worried she wouldn t be able to perform again. It took six months for her to get better. Three people were killed and many others were injured. The explosions went off close to the finish line. Two brothers aged 19 and 26 were responsible for the bombs. One was arrested and the other was shot by the police. Alex Ferguson retires CD: In May, the manager of Manchester United, Alex Ferguson said he was retiring. He had been manager of the football club since 1986. He made a speech after a match. This is what he said. I have been able to manage some of the greatest players in the country, let alone Manchester United. You have been the most fantastic experience of my life thank you. Ferguson, who is from Scotland, has won 49 trophies in his career. He is the most successful British football manager ever. You re thinking about it more than I thought about it when I did it. Like, I didn t even think about it. Miley Cyrus became famous when she was 11 years old. She was in the Disney television programme Hannah Montana. Now she is 21 and she has changed her image since becoming a pop star. Welcome to Sweden Mr President CD: The US president Barack Obama came to Sweden for the first time in September. Lynsey Khatau, who is from the UK but now lives in Nairobi, was with her husband and son at the shopping centre when the shooting started. Listen to what she says. They were just shooting. important award. The award is given out by the European Parliament for people who work with human rights. Malala is from Pakistan. In some parts of the country, girls are not allowed to go to school. In 2012, she was shot because of the things she said. She moved to England and got better and now she has become famous all over the world. Listen to what she says. Later on in my life I want to become a leader. I don t want to be a politician in a country that is already developed. I want to be a politician in Pakistan and bring change to Pakistan. Typhoon in the Philippines CD: There was a typhoon in the Philippines in November. Over 5,000 people died and many more lost their homes, The survivors didn t have much to eat and they had no clean water. Listen to this woman who asked for help. Now we are so very hungry and thirsty if you have water or food there maybe you can give (it to) us. Many organisations from all around the world sent help to the Philippines but it will take a long time for the country to get back to normal. The family that lights up Christmas CD: And finally, have you put up your Christmas decorations? Well, a family in Australia put 502,165 Christmas lights around their house that s a new world record. In December, anyone can pay to go and see the lights.
