USING YOUR VA EDUCATION BENEFITS AT JACKSONVILLE UNIVERSITY All of the Department of Veterans Affairs chapters and tuition assistance are approved at Jacksonville University. This includes programs for Active Duty, Reservists, Veterans and Dependents. All majors, minors and graduate programs in our JU academic catalog are approved. Jacksonville University fully participates in the Post 9/11 GI Bill. This includes Active Duty military service members, veterans and dependents who have received transfer of entitlement. Jacksonville University is also a 100% match Yellow Ribbon School for the Post 9/11 GI Bill program. If you are a 100% eligible veteran, the tuition will be free. If you are a dependent child of a 100% eligible service member, the tuition will be free. YELLOW RIBBON PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY 1. The Post 9/11 GI Bill Chapter 33 Certificate of Eligibility must show the student to be 100% eligible in order to participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program. 2. Students at less than 100% eligibility are not eligible for Yellow Ribbon, per the Dept. of Veterans Affairs. 3. Active Duty students and spouses of Active Duty students are not eligible for the Yellow Ribbon Program, per the Dept. of Veterans Affairs. 4. The Division of Aviation has a JU Yellow Ribbon Program cap of $10,000 per year. 5. The Orthodontic Certificate program is excluded from the Yellow Ribbon Program. HOW THE YELLOW RIBBON PROGRAM WORKS 1. Yellow Ribbon Program funds can be used for all JU terms, including summer terms. 2. Information about current Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) rates is posted on the www.gibill.va.gov website. 3. JU Yellow Ribbon will match 100% of the difference for undergraduate tuition. 4. JU Yellow Ribbon will match up to a maximum of $2,500.00 of the difference for graduate programs tuition. 5. JU Yellow Ribbon will match up to a maximum of $10,000.00 of the difference for the Division of Aviation undergraduate tuition. Aviation flight fees must be paid by the student to the Office of the Controller in advance of flight block registration. 6. Enrollment certifications will be done by the JU VA Certifying Officials in the Offices of the Registrar and Financial Aid. 7. Only those courses that are acceptable toward meeting graduation requirements in your declared program of study will be certified. 8. You do not have to be full-time status to receive Yellow Ribbon Program benefits. If you are not full-time status, you will receive partial benefits as determined by the Dept. of Veterans Affairs.

YELLOW RIBBON PROGRAM PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS 1. You agree to notify the JU Veterans Office that you are a Chapter 33 and Yellow Ribbon Program participant. 2. Understand that, each term, you must enroll in classes only towards your major and minor program requirements. 3. Understand that, each term, you must notify the VA Certifying Official of any changes to your schedule, including add, drop and withdrawal. 4. Understand that you will be responsible for any unpaid balance that could occur. 5. Understand that study abroad classes are not requirements towards any JU major or minor program. HOW DO I APPLY FOR THE POST 9/11 GI BILL (CH. 33) PROGRAM? If you are Active Duty or a Veteran: 1. Submit an application VA form 22-1990 to the Dept. of Veterans Affairs (VA) for the Post-9/11 GI Bill at www. gibill.va.gov or call 1-888-GI BILL-1 (888-442-4551) to have an application mailed to you. 2. Provide these documents to the JU Veterans Office: a. A copy of the CH. 33 Certificate of Eligibility (COE) letter received in the mail from the VA in response to the application. b. A copy of your orders or last DD-214. If you are the Recipient of the Post 9/11 GI Bill Education Benefit: 1. Have the Veteran apply for a Transfer of Entitlement with the Dept. of Defense at the www.defense.gov/home/ features/2009/0409_gibill. 2. Submit an application VA form 22-1990e to the Dept. of Veterans Affairs (VA) for the Post-9/11 GI Bill at www.gibill.va.gov or call 1-888-GI BILL-1 (888-442-4551) to have an application mailed to you. 3. Provide to the JU Veterans Office a copy of the CH. 33 Certificate of Eligibility (COE) letter received in the mail from the VA in response to the application. If you are a Transfer Student, or used your Post 9/11 GI Bill at another school: 1. Submit an application VA form 22-1995 Change of Program or Place of Training, to the Dept. of Veterans Affairs (VA) for the Post-9/11 GI Bill at www.gibill.va.gov. Or Call 1-888-GI BILL-1 (888-442-4551) to have an application mailed to you. 2. Provide these documents to the JU Veterans Office: a. A copy of the CH. 33 Certificate of Eligibility (COE) letter received in the mail from the VA. b. A copy of your orders or last DD-214. Each of the following opportunities includes a monthly amount paid directly to the student for full-time training. In some cases, the amount depends on the amount of time served.
