ANU Diploma of Liberal Studies The ANU Diploma of Liberal Studies is designed for students who are interested in studying a Bachelor of Arts at The Australian National University. The diploma also known as International Year One will provide a strong foundation to progress into the 2nd year of a Bachelor of Arts. Course Structure and Content Students will complete 2 semesters of 19 weeks each, and will be required to complete 48 units of study. The Diploma of Liberal Arts requires the completion of the following compulsory courses: ANUC1101 Professional Communication ANUC1102 Culture and Human Diversity: Introducing Anthropology ANUC1104 Introduction to Social Psychology ANUC1105 Introduction to International Relations: Foundations and Concepts ANUC1106 Indigenous Peoples, Populations and Communities ANUC1107 Logic and Critical Reasoning ANUC1108 Terror to Terrorism: A History ANUC1109 Close Encounters: How to Read Literature 2015 Fees and Course Start Date Annual indicative fee for international students: $33,168. The course start date is 20th July 2015. Campus Location ANU Diploma of Liberal Studies will be delivered at ANU campus in Acton, Canberra. ANU is only a 10-minute walk from the city centre of Canberra, providing students with easy access to many attractions, shopping centres and other services on offer. Progression Upon successful completion of the ANU Diploma of Liberal Studies with no more than one fail or incomplete grade, students will be eligible to enter the second year of the Bachelor of Arts at ANU. The Bachelor of Arts The Bachelor of Arts is the most diverse, most flexible, and most popular degree at ANU. An Arts degree will provide students with core skills in critical analysis and in written and oral communication, while developing adaptability and ability to help shape change and prepare you for a multifaceted career or further study.
