THE PASSION of PALM SUNDAY 2010 THE COMING OF THE KING, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, THE SON OF GOD Matthew 21:4-14 SUNDAY MARCH 28 TH. 2010 THE TITLE OF THE MESSAGE: Is Jesus Coming Soon? The Expectation of The Coming of The Lord The Palm Sunday Ministry of Jesus Christ His Kingship, His Lordship and His Godhood, Bring Hope SUBJECT TOPICALLY REFERENCED UNDER: Palm Sunday, Hope, King of Kings, God s Authority, Prophecy Introduction to the Text; Matthew 21: 4-14 The Theme and Textual Summation of the Passage This Palm Sunday Could Be Our Last Here on Earth Heaven is not away - Isaac, a precocious 5 year old Matt. 21:4-14 All this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying: :5 Tell the daughter of Zion, Behold, your King is coming to you, Lowly, and sitting on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey. :6 So the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them. :7 They brought the donkey and the colt, laid their clothes on them, and set Him on them. :8 And a very great multitude spread their clothes on the road; others cut down branches from the trees and spread them on the road 1

:9 Then the multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out, saying: Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD! Hosanna in the highest! :10 And when He had come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this? :11 So the multitudes said, This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee. :12 Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. :13 And He said to them, It is written, My house shall be called a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves. :14 Then the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them. What I m Not Going To Mention 1.) Yes! So be watching They Knew The Day Back Then we cannot, but. Matthew 21:4-6 All this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying: :5 Tell the daughter of Zion, Behold, your King is coming to you, Lowly, and sitting on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey. :6 So the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them. Psa. 119:103-105 How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! :104 I gain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every wrong path. :105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. 2

1a.) Watching requires a knowledge of the scriptures 1b.) Watching requires an understanding of the times 1c.) Watching requires a desire to see the Lord 2.) Yes! So be waiting Matthew 21:10 And when He had come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this? :11 So the multitudes said, This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee. Jesus, His Very Name Means Salvation! Psa. 130:3-6 If You, LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? :4 But there is forgiveness with You, That You may be feared. :5 I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, And in His word I do hope. :6 My soul waits for the Lord More than those who watch for the morning - Yes, more than those who watch for the morning. 3

2a.) Waiting for Him causes an excitement within us 2b.) Waiting for Him causes an expectation around us 2c.) Waiting for Him causes an endurance among us 3.) Yes! We have blessed you from the house of the LORD. 4

3a.) Worshipping is my acknowledgment to Him 3b.) Worshipping is my agreeing with Him 3c.) Worshipping is my acceptance of Him 4.) Yes! So be walking Matthew 21:14 Then the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them. Psa. 107:19-22 Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, And He saved them out of their distresses. :20 He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions. :21 Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! :22 Let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, And declare His works with rejoicing. 5
