POINTS TO HIGHLIGHT Day one: Day two: Dark & light Heaven - The world is full of water. G-d separates the water, some remains on earth and some is put up in the sky. Day three: Vegetation - G-d separates all of the waters of the earth into oceans, rivers, lakes and seas. G-d fills the dry land with vegetation: grass, flowers, trees, plants. Day four: Sun, moon, stars, galaxies Day five: Fish & birds Day six: Animals & man. G-d creates Adam. He is unhappy to be alone. G-d puts him to sleep and removes his rib. G-d creates Chava with his rib. PREPARING THE ENVIRONMENT A world globe or map Plastic fish in water table Books about the world: atlas and nature books Create a felt world. Cut these items out of felt: large light blue circle, sun, moon, stars, trees, grass, flowers, animals, man, woman, water, clouds. Samples of Nature: flowers, grass, twigs, soil, bugs and magnifying glass. LESSONS LEARNED Belief in G-d, Creator of Heaven and Earth DISCUSSION STARTERS Nature: What does it consist of? FUN WITH FOOD WORLD CREATION INGREDIENTS White paper plate Blue & green frosting Animal cookies Pretzels Flower sprinkles Fish candy or cookies Mini marshmallows Round yellow candy Coconut, colored green with food coloring DIRECTIONS Use the plate as the world. Use the frosting as the water and land. The marshmallows are the clouds. The yellow candy is the sun. The pretzels, coconut and sprinkles are the vegetation. Place the animals on the land, and fish in the sea. Leader holds the headbands not allowing the pictures to show. One child is chosen. A headband is placed on his/her forehead which s/he holds in place with fingers. BEREISHIT>BEREISHIT ADAM & CHAVA SOURCE IN THE TORAH BEREISHIT 2: 16-17 Of every tree of the garden you may eat, but of the tree of the knowledge, of good and evil you shall not eat POINTS TO HIGHLIGHT Adam and Chava live in the Garden of Eden. G-d tells Adam not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge. Adam tells Chava not to touch the tree. Serpent that has hands and feet persuades Chava by pushing her into the tree. G-d says Ayekah? Where are you? They are punished: The serpent loses its hands and feet and taste buds. Adam and Chava must leave the Garden of Eden. PREPARING THE ENVIRONMENT Cut 5-6 large branches with leaves. Cut one branch from a different type of tree to represent Eitz Hada at. Tie or tape branches to a piece of furniture or wall in room. Attach small fruits (grapes or figs) or candy to the branches. Tell Children that they can pick fruit from all trees but not from the tree that is the Eitz Hada at! Add a toy snake to your garden. LESSONS LEARNED Make the right choices in life; do not allow other to pressure you into doing the wrong thing. Books about snakes: How they eat their food and how they crawl on the earth. FUN WITH FOOD GARDEN OF EDEN INGREDIENTS Pretzel sticks Green & purple grapes Gummy snakes Coconut Green food coloring DIRECTIONS Children create an orchard of trees using a few pretzels with green grapes stuck to the top of each. One pretzel tree should be made with a large purple grape to represent Eitz Hada at. Each child is given one gummy snake. Color coconut green with food coloring, as grass. Sprinkle grass around. BEREISHIT>BEREISHIT S MATERIAL DON T PICK THE FRUIT OFF OF THE EITZ HADA AT Copy game from CD White poster board Tack N Stick Blindfold Prepare game as shown on CD. Blindfold one child at a time. The child may pick a fruit from any tree, but not from the Eitz Hada at. MATERIAL ON CD DON T LET THE SNAKE PUSH YOU TO THE TREE An outdoor tree One child is the snake. Children run from snake. If the a is tagged by the snake s/he sits near the tree. Last child caught is the next snake. SNAKE ON THE GROUND None Needed The children stand in a line, one behind the other and put their right hands through their legs, to clasp the left hand of the player behind. The last child crouches down and tucks his/her head in. The other children move slowly backwards over the last child until s/he is at the front. The process is then repeated.
