Welcome to your simple 10-step guide At Castle Cover we take great care to meet the needs of people over 50. The AIG Over 50s Life Plan helps you to leave behind a valuable cash lump sum for your family. And to make sure it really works for you, it offers you plenty of choices. 1. Now s the time to apply This life plan will pay a cash lump sum when you die. Cover depends on your age and the monthly premium you choose so the sooner you apply, the more cover you ll get. 2. Acceptance guaranteed Applying for this plan couldn t be easier. You won t be asked any questions about your health or be asked to take a medical. As long as you re aged 50-75 and a UK resident, you will definitely be accepted. So all you have to do is: choose the monthly amount you d like to pay complete your online quote form and Direct Debit instruction You will receive your plan documents as soon as your application has been processed. Your payments will then be taken out of your chosen bank account every month. Once you re covered, you re covered for life, as long as you keep paying your premiums. 2

3. Designed to suit your budget With this plan you make fixed monthly payments by Direct Debit, so you ll always know how much you are paying. You choose the level of premium you pay, starting from just 5 ( 10 for ages 71 to 75), or any multiple of 5 up to 50. To get you started, overleaf we ve given you some example quotes of the very competitive lump sum payout you could receive for a range of premiums. If you d like to know what payout you could receive for a premium of 35 or 45, please call our helpline. Your premiums will stay the same throughout your life, even if your health deteriorates, you won t be asked to pay more. We hope you have a long and healthy life. Remember, depending on how long your cover is in place, you may end up paying in more than the Plan pays out on your death. 4. Does your partner need a life plan too? If you have a partner who is aged 50-75 and a UK resident, they can take out a AIG Over 50s Life Plan too. They will also be able to claim a valuable gift. All they need to do is complete their own personal online quote form or they can call the helpline for a quote and apply over the phone. Don t forget if your partner applies for their own AIG Over 50s Life Plan, they too will be able to claim a valuable gift of 25 M&S vouchers. 3

5. Keep your cover in line with inflation Because of inflation, your fixed cash sum may be worth less in real terms when you die than when you first took out the plan. You can prevent this happening by index linking your plan. This means every year if you choose your fixed cash sum can be increased to keep pace with inflation. Your monthly payments will also increase to pay for the extra cover. If you d like to index link your plan, AIG Life Limited will write to you each year, before your plan anniversary, showing next year s premium and your level of cover. You can then ask them to adjust your Direct Debit payment automatically or tell them that you want to leave your plan as is, with no increases. If you choose not to increase your cover for three years running, AIG Life Limited will assume that you prefer to leave it at a fixed level, and will not write to you again. The Direct Debit Guarantee The Direct Debit Guarantee. This Guarantee is offered by all banks and building societies that accept instructions to pay Direct Debits If there are any changes to the amount, date or frequency of your Direct Debit AIG Life Limited will notify you 10 working days in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise agreed. If you request AIG Life Limited to collect a payment, confirmation of the amount and date will be given to you at the time of the request. If an error is made in the payment of your Direct Debit, by AIG Life Limited or your bank or building society you are entitled to a full and immediate refund of the amount paid from your bank or building society. If you receive a refund you are not entitled to, you must pay it back when AIG Life Limited asks you to. You can cancel a Direct Debit at any time by simply contacting your bank or building society. Written confirmation may be required. Please also notify us. 5

6. It s up to you how your cash lump sum will be used With the AIG Over 50s Life Plan, a cash lump sum will be paid into your estate when you die. However the money is used, it could really make life easier for those you leave behind. It could be a good way to take care of outstanding bills. Alternatively, you might want to leave money to your partner, children, grandchildren or a close friend. Or you could leave a gift to a charity whose work you admire. Your money could also help towards the cost of a funeral. The average cost of a funeral has been rising over the years, and with this trend set to continue, most families will be glad of any help in meeting these costs. You can also receive an extra 10% if you use the cash lump sum to pay towards funeral costs with the help of Dignity, a leading UK funeral service provider. To do this, simply tick the box on your online form or tell the Castle Cover helpline. When the time comes, your family need only make one phone call and Dignity will provide all the support and guidance they need to make your funeral arrangements. 7. What will your family receive? With this plan, AIG Life Limited offers a cash lump sum for your family when you die. The plan also offers other very valuable benefits. In the first 2 years of your plan, if: you die as a result of an accident*, it will pay three times the amount of cash lump sum you have selected. This applies from your very first day of cover and continues for two full years. you die from any other cause during the first two years, it will pay back all the money you have paid plus half as much again (150%). So you can rest assured that even if the worst happens in the first two years, your family will get back more than you ve paid in. And after the first two years: it will pay your full guaranteed lump sum, wherever and whenever you die, provided of course that you ve kept up the payments. and after your 90th birthday, your cover will continue but you ll no longer have to pay monthly premiums. Important information you need to know. The Plan only pays out a cash amount upon your death, so you cannot cash it in at any time. If you stop paying your premiums, your cover will stop and you will not get any money back. Of course, we hope you can look forward to a long and healthy life but this may mean you ll find you pay in more than your cover pays out. Tax rules can change. All benefits paid out under the plan are free of income and capital gains tax, but may be subject to inheritance tax, depending on the inheritance tax threshold at the time of death. *Details of what is meant by accident will be included in the Plan Details sent to you when you apply. 7

Perhaps you ll choose something to wear from their fabulous ranges for men and women. Maybe you d prefer something for your home a cushion, a vase or even a picture frame for a favourite family shot. Or why not go for a feast of food and drink? Simply take out a plan and make three monthly premium payments. Then 25 worth of M&S vouchers will be sent to your home address. Happy shopping. 8 Terms and conditions: Your vouchers will be sent to you automatically once we have received your third premium payment and your plan has not been cancelled in the meantime. Please allow up to 28 days from your third completed premium payment to receive your vouchers. There is no cash alternative to this gift.
