TAO of Mayan Healing 5 Healing in the Thought of the Maya My spiritual journeys have taken me to the sacred lands of the Maya many times over the past decade. Each journey opens more portals of understanding the Maya culture and their ancient roots. The picture on the left shows the housing of the current Mayan villages. The oval house is the most predominant in the Yucatan area of the Itza Maya. The Maya H men/sh men (male/female) doesn t separate the physical experience of the human body from the spiritual aspects. Working with their energy cycles that most scholars call calendars has brought much knowledge and re-remembering at my cellular level. The H men and the Daykeeper (keeps the count) of a village work together to keep the people healthy. They keep track of the energies of each child that is born into their village. Therefore, a healing session in the Maya culture starts with an understanding of the energy of the day, month and year of entering that is the birthday. Each of those aspects has a corresponding energy that directs the souls journey on their Earth Walk. The natal positioning of the planets at the birth connect with spiritual energies and numbers according to Mayan thought. The physicality is just one aspect of your total being. An understanding of the patterns and pulsars of energy from the Tzolk in round of glyphs and the Haab intermeshing solar year cycle, enables the healer to gain knowledge of your choices in health and wellness. These glyphs have corresponding planetary energy and cosmic energy that give a total picture on your Earth Walk and the parts of the body that can become afflicted with dis-easement. It is not a simple understanding. However, the complexity involved will expand your knowledge base. Combining the physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual energies of your journey into this plane of reality helps you to make better choices for your purpose 1
on this cycle or round of experience. A visit to a Mayan H men Visiting a Mayan healer/h men who sees this energy without words exchanged was an honor that is beyond our present language. All of the indigenous cultures that I have had the honor to learn from have this inner vision that utilizes symbolism versus words. They see and feel your energies before you arrive. They possess a total understanding of the interconnection of the wholeness of being and bring forth the spiritual Masters that connect your human form to the Master Blueprint. The painting on the right will give you an idea of the sacred dress of a H men Ancestor H men connect with the ancient ones for all their work and the sacredness of the session is very powerful. As a female Mayan Sh men, my first lessons were in making this connection on the vortexes of the sacred sites in the Yucatan Peninsula-home of the Itza Mayan. Healing Session with a Mayan H men Working only above the crown chakra, which is the top of your head, a Mayan healer will use a combination of herbs that is held in one hand over the crown. They then proceed to open the crown, much like a Reiki healer uses the symbols to work on their client. The next step is to work with the spiral above the crown bringing in the healing energy that can travel down the mystic channel from the Alpha chakra above the crown to the Omega chakra below the root. As this energy travels through the mystic channel, it has access to the entire energy anatomy, bringing the powerful Universal energy into the body to clear the root issues connected to the illness, so that the healing can proceed. Mayan prayers for the energy that is appropriate are spoken by the healer as they continuously work in the spiral above the crown chakra, bringing forth the energies that are needed for the particular situation. Without a doubt, it was the most powerful experience I have ever had in a healing 2
situation. The honor was bestowed on a visit to a small Mayan village to meet my friends mentor. His healing session was for activation of energies he would need on his journey to France. When the healer finished working on him, he asked permission to work on me also. I was quite surprised as I had only gone along as an observer. The session only took about 15 minutes, but when it was complete I could not move from the chair for at least 30 minutes. The energy that he called forth was so powerful I could feel it flow through my entire body. Leaving me light-headed while my frequencies adjusted to the activation and integration, I gladly stayed still and enjoyed the flow. No words were needed, I understood from every level of my being the prayers and power of this tiny man. When I became fully present again, my friend asked me to gift a token of my energy to this wonderful man for the honor. I removed my beaded bracelet with the feather amulet and put it in his hand. The smile of gratitude was enormous. Mayan H men keep a sacred alter or container with all of the energy gifts received in their lifetime and pass them on to their apprentice s who are in training for many years. As in all the indigenous cultures that I have been honored to study, the gift of exchange with an elder is never monetary. Something with your energy patterns that is gifted from the soul is flowed to the healer after a session. As we were walking away from this small Mayan oval hut that had only one room, a concrete floor, thatched roof and no electricity or running water, my friend asked me, "What age do you think my mentor is?" I pondered it a moment and decided that he was around 52-57. He started laughing and said "No, my dear Judith, this man is well over 100 years old." Astounding as it seemed, he was on his third generation of children with his third wife. Mayan healers hold the secret to longevity and youth. They become elders at 52 in their culture and the energy they carry keeps them from aging. I share this experience with you as our culture is always looking for new technology to keep the body from aging. When you understand the totality of the Universal energy and work with all aspects of it in your healing, you end the separation and therefore, end the need to age your physicality. The tools are "inner balance and harmony" from learning to "go within for your answers". The teachings are in every ancient culture however, the Mayans are just more adept at "being" the Universal Human. 3
Healing in the thought of the Maya has no separation between the spiritual and the physical worlds. The chart above shows the wave patterns in the aura of the physical body with the purpose of energy based on the Mayan numbers of the pattern. Each chakra has defined elements affecting growth. 4
The gland connected to the chakra vortex The spirit animal The Constellation and planet The purpose of the energy The color are listed The energy travels from the Alpha chakra above the crown through the mystic channel to the Solar plexis in a clockwise motion and then flips to a counter-clockwise motion to the Omega Chakra below the feet. It then travels back up the same mystic channel clockwise, flipping again at the Solar Plexis and travels in a counter-clockwise spiral to connect you back to spirit. All energy travels in the pulsing spiral pattern throughout the universe and into the human body. Story of my becoming a Mayan Sh men The photo on the left was taken on May 21, 2000 in preparation for climbing the pyramid of Coba in the Yucatan. Coba is the oldest pyramid on the peninsula that was the site of the Creation Stela for this current Ahau Kat un (5200 year world cycle). My journey actually started in December of 1992, when a Mayan H men knocked on my door and said he was looking for Judith. He was sent to tell me that I needed an Initiation and brought a woman with him who would perform it. Stating that my new work was about to begin, he talked for over 2 hours and I have never seen him again. In February 1993, I had the Axiatonal lines connected during my Initiation and started my spiritual journey on July 26 of that year. By February 22, 1994, I was in the land of the Ancient Maya learning to be a portal for the Earth at all the sacred sites. I was sent to the Anasazi lands later that year and learned more about anchoring energy in their sacred Earth vortexes. Between 1994 and 1996, I was sent to the Maya lands about six times to expand my knowledge and become a working Sh men. During that time period I also traveled the United States teaching the Mayan information and learning to heal with the method that you are being taught in this school. My painting (left) of Coba with the creation glyph is my preparation to anchor the energies again on May 21, 2012. (for the last 3 rd dimension event of this 5200-year cycle) 5
