Season of Prayer - Week 1 - Jan. 1-7 Sunday - Read Psalm 32:8. Pray the event planning team will have clear direction and successful execution concerning: Prayer, Programming, Fundraising, Publicity, and the Oneness Bible Study. Monday - Read Jeremiah 24:7. Pray the hearts of people will be softened to attend the event and be inspired to spread the word. Tuesday - Read John 17:21. Pray for clear understanding in us of the serious need for unity of believers. Wednesday - Read Luke 5:4-11. Pray the Lord of the Harvest will cast a wide net over the Pee Dee Region that grabs people s attention, reveals the need for revival, and creates desire to yield to the will of the Father concerning racial division. Thursday - Read Luke 10:27. Pray Christians will desire to know Jesus Christ more personally and love Him more deeply. Friday - Read 1 Pet. 5:8-9. Pray the enemy will be defeated in attempts to stop the event. Saturday - Read Jeremiah 15:19. Ask the Lord to change the hearts of His people who have strayed, that they would repent, be restored and be used to proclaim the Truth. Sometimes I m asked to list the most important steps in preparing for an evangelistic mission, Billy Graham once said, and my reply is always the same: Prayer, prayer, prayer. Tuesday - Colossians 2:19; Ephesians 1:22-23. Pray that connections in the Body of Christ will increase in strength across racial, social, economic and denominational divides. Wednesday - Read Ephesians 2:8-10. Pray that believers will fuel the joy of their salvation through a lifestyle doing good in the name of the Lord Jesus, by His strength, under His authority, and for His purposes. A lifestyle that makes people hungry to know God. Thursday - Read Ephesians 4:22-24. Pray the Lord will help us to encourage instead of criticize, forgive instead of condemn, and praise instead of complain. Tuesday - Read John 14:16-20. Pray believers will understand that heaven is a picture of the oneness possible only through the Holy Spirit. Wednesday - Read Matthew 9:37-38. Pray for more people to join the work of the harvest not only for souls but also for reconciliation. Thursday - Read Galatians 3:27-29. Pray The Church will glorify God by reflecting His values, letting the truth of God be the standard by which we measure right and wrong and the way we accept skin color, class, and culture. Friday - Read 2 Corinthians 10:3-5. Pray Christians will take up the weapons of our warfare and wage war on everything that rises up against the knowledge of God. Saturday - Read James 1:19. Pray that Christians will be careful to communicate an understanding attitude that opens the door to compassionate conversations with someone that is offended. The bottom line is pray. If you re tired, sick, emotionally overwhelmed pray. If you re on cloud nine and life seems perfect pray. If you lack direction pray. If you doubt that prayer makes any difference pray. If the circumstances of your life are out of your control pray. If the circumstances of your life seem well within you re your control pray even harder. Whatever you do pray. Pray the Lord will help us express respect despite disagreements. Tuesday - Read Proverbs 15:1-2. Pray people will disagree without dishonoring and desire to understand the other s perspective and pain. Wednesday - Read 2 Timothy 3:10-17; Colossians 3:23-24. Pray for encouragement of pastors, teachers, witnesses to stand strong in persecution knowing they will receive a reward that is above price. (Consider sending a note of encouragement to someone.) Thursday - Read 2 Corinthians 5:14-16. Pray that we will see that each one of us has equal value; after all, He died for each one. Friday - Read Romans 12:9-21. Pray that Christians will overcome the evil of racism with good by the power of God s Spirit. Saturday - Read Romans 12:12. Pray that our witness to the world will display joy in the hope of our salvation, patience in troubles, and prayerful attitudes that create desire in people to experience the same. Pray the Lord will give us grace to pray for each other, those of the household of faith and those who persecute us. Tuesday - Read Matthew 7:11-12. Pray the Lord will bring us to oneness that is rooted in personal dignity. Wednesday - Read Matthew 25:34-40. Pray that more people will be a witness for Christ through acts of kindness. Thursday Read Psalm 133:1; Galatians 6:8-10. Pray we will follow through on oneness and enjoy not only God s power and His presence, but also His glory. February 9th-7pm Friday - Read Ephesians 6:11-17, Romans 8:37. Pray Christians will continually wear the full armor of God, and take a stand against the devil s schemes to divide us based on race, gender, age, denomination, or politics. Saturday - Read Luke 6:27-28. Pray that we will know when it s more important to allow a conflict to be overlooked instead of insisting on being right.
