Data Sheet Traffix Systems Signaling Delivery Controller : Control Your 4G Network The Traffix Signaling Delivery Controller (SDC) assists operators in scaling and managing services and applications in 4G/LTE networks, supporting up to hundreds of millions of subscribers. The SDC solution centralizes signaling and Diameter routing, traffic management and load balancing tasks to scale and grow 4G/LTE networks incrementally and cost effectively while fulfilling subscribers ever-increasing service and broadband demands. The Traffix Signaling Delivery Controller (SDC) was designed to assist service providers in managing the growing volume and complexity of signaling in LTE and IMS networks with advanced Diameter Gateway, Diameter Load Balancer and Diameter Router solutions. It has gained a reputation as the most mature Diameter solution backed by 100 live deployments. Operators deploying the Traffix SDC to control signaling among LTE, IMS and legacy network elements receive multiple added-value benefits such as: Enhanced signaling congestion and flow control and failover management mechanisms Enhanced signaling admission control, topology hiding and steering mechanisms Advanced context-aware routing, based on any combination of AVPs and other dynamic parameters like network health or time Advanced Session Binding capabilities beyond Gx/Rx binding Comprehensive testing tool suite for Diameter testing automation including stress and stability of all Diameter scenarios Supports all existing Diameter interfaces (50+) Supports widest range of message oriented protocols for routing, load balancing and transformation (e.g. SS7, SIP, RADIUS, HTTP/SOAP, LDAP, GTP, JMS and others) Highly scalable solution with fieldproven linear scalability achieved via Active/Active deployment mode that exemplifies single node from connected peers perspective Supports SCTP,TCP, TLS, IP-Sec, IPv4, IPv6 Network Reliability with the SDC

SDC Contextual Diameter Routing Traffix SDC offers fully standard 3GPP Diameter Routing Agent (DRA) and GSMA Diameter Edge Agent (DEA) functionalities. It implements an advanced Diameter contextual routing engine which provides service providers with the flexibility to implement a wide range of routing rules and policies required to satisfy all business requirements. Upon extracting subscriber and network data from signaling messages, the SDC correlates the data in real-time for better business intelligence. In addition, the Traffix SDC is capable of routing signaling protocols dynamically to resolve functions based on DNS (NAPTR) or other external functions such as SLF or HSS. All of these functions can be applied bi-directionally, enabling the Traffix SDC platform to be not only flexible but also transparent to the surrounding Diameter clients and servers. The routing rules are based on various criteria such as: Protocol type A combination of Diameter AVP s and their values Initial request source/destination Multi-point routing such as Gx and Ra interfaces routing based on IPCAN session Security Enforcement Routing Engine Load Balancing Engine Transformation Client Server

SDC Diameter Load Balancing 4G/LTE deployments require scalable services for Diameter network enabled nodes. These challenges are addressed by the Traffix SDC load balancing engine by enabling operators to implement smart comprehensive Layer 4-7 load balancing solutions that includes smart Diameter session stickiness, Diameter server failover recognition, dynamic flow control, and transparent traffic redistribution. The SDC Load Balancing engine provides the following balancing policies out-of-the-box: Round Robin Weighted Round Robin Contextual Fast time Least Loaded External policy Diameter Load Balancing SDC Gateway and Message Transformation The Message Transformation engine implemented by Traffix SDC enables operators to overcome interoperability problems between different Diameter vendors and allows translating other legacy signaling protocols to the Diameter protocol or vice versa. Multi-protocol support: Diameter, RADIUS, LDAP, SQL, HTTP, COPS, GTP, Web-Services, JMS, SS7 (CAMEL, MAP), CORBA, SIP

The Message Transformation engine allows high performance protocol translation and message manipulation using predefined rules configured within the SDC platform. The transformation can be applied in a bi-directional way enabling operators to implement complex business logic for interconnecting various protocols and vendors. Transformation Engine Client Server SDC Diameter Control Plane Visibility Traffix SDC offers the WideLens tool to enable comprehensive insight into the signaling control plane. The WideLens technology enables aligning and synchronizing different subscriber and service signaling flows for a real time unified view of network signaling and usage. The SDC enables real time visibility and statistics such as: Latency per protocol and per node TPS per server or client Type of messages Concurrent sessions Errors per node and per protocol Network Visibility

SDC Diameter Testing & Simulation Suite When deploying the SDC, operators receive the Traffix Diameter Testing & Simulation Suite, a comprehensive environment for testing automation including validation of stress, load, stability and scalability of all Diameter scenarios. It enables operators to: Simulate real world, complex scenarios for rapid service implementation Upload several standards simultaneously Perform stability testing of all vendors for all 4G network elements Run test roaming scenarios, Diameter over SCTP/TCP testing, and others. SDC Specifications Networking Transport Protocol Diameter base conformance IETF Diameter agents support 3GPP Diameter agent support GSMA Diameter agent support Diameter Reference Points Protocols Support Management IPv4, IPv6 TCP, UDP, SCTP, SIGTRAN, GTP RFC 3588, RFC 3588bis Relay, proxy, redirect, translation DRA, IWF DEA Over 50 Diameter Interfaces including Gx, Gy, Rx, Sy, So, S6a, S6d, S9, S13.
