In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, one God. Amen.

Begin with the Lord s prayer Our Lord and Savior, our King and God, we thank you for gathering us here to stand before you to call on your Holy Name. Heavenly Father, teach us to trust You in everything we do. Our God open our eyes, ears, hearts and minds that we may hear Your Word, keep it in our hearts and tell our friends about your glory and honor. Bless all the children and keep them safe. Hear us when we humbly and thankfully pray to you.

Our Father, who art in heaven Hallowed be thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done On earth as it is in heaven Give us this day our daily bread And forgive us our trespasses As we forgive those who trespass against us And lead us not into temptation But deliver us from the evil one For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the Glory. Forever, Amen.

O our Lady, as St. Gabriel greeted you, Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. True Virgin in conscience as well as body, blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb. Holy Mary, the God-bearer, pray that your beloved Son, Jesus Christ, may forgive us our sins. Amen.

Say The Jesus Prayer 3 times Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.

Jesus Christ walks on water March 30, 2014

Memorize today s Verse It is I; do not be afraid. (Matthew 14:27) Practice this verse again during the week.

Introduction Today we are going to learn how our Lord Jesus Christ walked on water. Objective We are not afraid because our Lord Jesus Christ is with us..

Jesus teaches the people Our Lord Jesus Christ was teaching a great multitude of people by the sea shore. He would heal all the sick people The lame The blind The mute

Time to go Night was about to fall Jesus Christ told his disciples to take the boat and go to the other side of the shore until He sends the people away. The disciples obeyed and took the boat. The people went home and Jesus went on the mountain to pray. The disciples waited for Christ to come but He was late.

The Storm Suddenly a storm blew and the sea became very high Thunder and Lightning in the sky. Rain fell heavily. The boat went back and forth like a feather, up and down with the waves. the boat was starting to sink. The disciples were very afraid. They had no control over the ship and were scared that they might drown.

Jesus Comes Suddenly out of the darkness, Jesus Christ appeared with his bright light walking on the water. When the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a ghost! And they cried out for fear.

It is I But immediately Jesus said to them, Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid (Matthew 14:27) St. Peter answered: Lord if it is you, command me to come to you on the water. Jesus answered: Come

Peter walks on water St. Peter got out of the boat and started walking on the water towards Jesus. He felt that the water was like dry land under his feet. Jesus stretched out His hand to Peter to move forward. Peter walked a step two steps then he began to think.

Peter doubts Peter was thinking to himself: How am I walking on the water the storm is strong and the sea is high. I am afraid. I may be drowned. He forgot that Christ was standing near him. He started to sink down in the water because he forgot Christ. Save me Lord, he cried, I am sinking down. Hold my hand Jesus

Jesus Calms the storm At once Jesus reached out and grabbed hold of him and said, How little faith you have. Why did you doubt? St. Peter sadly said, Jesus, forgive me. They both got into the boat and the wind was still blowing. When Jesus looked at the sea and raised his hand and said, Sea, be calm and He pointed to the cloud and the rain and said, Enough.

You are the Son of God The wind died down and the boat sailed on in peace. When the disciples saw all these things happen, they were in fear and knelt down to worship Jesus saying, Truly You are the Son of God The disciples asked Jesus to forgive them for having little faith.

Conclusion Only God has power over nature (the sea, the sky, the animals) = Jesus Christ walked on the water and calmed the storm with His hand = He is the One True God! Jesus is our friend, He loves us, and does not leave us alone. Let us trust in His control over our lives.

Glory be to God for All Things Jesus forgave them and they reached the shore and walked on singing hymns and praising God. We are safe whenever Jesus Christ is with us. We should never be afraid since He is always with us.

Psalm 23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me, You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord to the ends of my days. -Alleluia
