INTRODUCTION In recent years, has initiated a new educational reform in El Salvador, that came to help to develop the country in both ways in economic and in social issues. One of the most significant reforms has been the 2021 Plan, which is implemented with the English subject in all public and private institutes around the country. Due to this, new careers have emerged in which the English subject is a requirement for these careers. In this regard many educational institutions have adopted different methodological strategies for teaching English language. In this way, the development of language skills has become very popular in regard to the teachers who teach English as a foreign Language and also the concern that is generated by students as part of the learning process through their own interests in learning a second language. Thus, our research is aimed at verifying the PROGRAM OF STUDY OF THE EXTRACURRICULAR ENGLISH SUBJECT AND ITS FUNCTIONALITY IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING IN STUDENTS OF THE ENGINEERING TECHNICAL CAREER AT ESCUELA ESPECIALIZADA EN INGENIERIA ITCA FEPADE OF SAN MIGUEL CITY. In concordance to the Statement of the problem, it describes the possible causes that give rise to the problematic situation. It is presented and worded, formulated as a question which led to the investigation, then is the justification that focuses on establishment of the fundamental reasons for studying the problem, and then it specifies the areas and covered sectors in the research without losing the track of limitations that may be encountered through the process. In addition, there are objectives of the research to establish the expected successes and so, i

conveniently guide the development of the research including one general objective and three specific. With regard to Chapter II, it consists of: the Normative Framework in which everything is based, classified on the laws that regulate our research topic. The historical framework, which includes the background of the problem in the different historical stages of the development of educational reform in our country until new reforms including the current implementation of the English language as a second language at present. Also, in this chapter arises the theoretical framework, which supports the theories that motivated the research. The Chapter III presents the formulation of hypotheses, which are formed in attempts to answer the proposed question, in which are used two hypotheses with their respective variables and indicators that provide the basis for the design of the instruments. In addition, there are extraneous variables and their respective control that will give each of them. Methodological design, this describes the type of research that is being carried out, detailing the study population and the methods, techniques and research tools including step by step procedures to perform it. Penultimate, are the references which have been considered to get the theory and data that support this research. ii

Finally, add the annexes that contain information to prove the data or raised designs on the content of the investigation. iii
