Cisco Catalyst 4500 Supervisor Engine V (WS-X4516) (New) Offers port scalability (required for Cisco Catalyst 4510R) for resilient wirespeed Layer 2/3/4 switching and routing for high-end Enterprise wiring closets, layer 3 distribution points and large Enterprise branch office deployments (NetFlow option). Cisco Catalyst 4500 Supervisor Engine IV (WS-X4515) Offers resilient wire-speed Layers 2/3/4 switching and routing for Enterprise wiring closets, layer 3 distribution points and medium Enterprise branch office deployments. (NetFlow option) Cisco Catalyst 4500 Series Supervisor Engine II-Plus (WS-X4013+) Offers entry-level resilient Layer 2 switching with basic Layer 3 services for medium enterprise wiring closets and small enterprise branch office deployments. Aggressive new pricing makes it more affordable than ever for small and medium-sized customers to use Gigabit Ethernet and intelligent services for modular wiring closet connectivity at the network edge. CISCO CATALYST 4006 MIGRATION OPTIONS The recommended replacement for the Cisco Catalyst 4006 is the Cisco Catalyst 4506, 4507R, or 4510R chassis. The Cisco Catalyst 4500 Series chassis are optimized for Power over Ethernet (PoE). Every Cisco Catalyst 4500, when properly equipped, can provide 15.4W of power per port simultaneously in a fully loaded system while maintaining power supply redundancy. This allows customers to smoothly connect any IEEE 802.3af compliant device on any Cisco Catalyst 4500 Series 802.3af PoE line card port without concern for power. Differences between the Cisco Catalyst 4006 chassis and the Cisco Catalyst 4500 Series chassis are outlined at: http:///en/us/products/hw/switches/ps4324/products_data_sheet0900aecd801792b1.html. MIGRATION PROGRAM Customers can use the Cisco Technology Migration Plan (TMP) to trade in products and receive credit toward the purchase of new Cisco equipment. Cisco currently is offering a generous trade-in bonus for Cisco Catalyst 4003, 4006, Catalyst 4000 supervisor engines I and II, or Catalyst 4500 Supervisor Engine III trades to any Cisco Catalyst 4500 Series chassis or Catalyst 4500 Series supervisor engine. For more information about Cisco TMP please contact your Cisco account representative. Information about the refurbished equipment program can be found at: http:///en/us/ordering/or6/or17/order_refurbished_equipment_program_description.html. Customers may be able to continue to purchase the Cisco Catalyst 4006 and Catalyst 4000 Supervisor Engine II through the Cisco Authorized Refurbished Equipment program. Refurbished units are available in limited supply for sale in certain countries on a first-come-first-serve basis.
