MULTI SYSTEM DIGITAL SIGNAL GENERATOR 1. General 1.1 General This unit is all-in-one type digital modulator which can select and output digital modulated wave, such as DVB-T/H system (Terrestrial: COFDM modulation), DVB-C system (Cable: QAM modulation), DVB-S system (Satellite: QPSK modulation) and DVB-S2 system (Satellite: PSK and APSK modulation) of digital broadcasting system in Europe and ATSC system (Terrestrial: 8VSB modulation) and ITU-T J.83B system (Cable: QAM modulation) of digital broadcasting system in U. S A. Built-in TS signal modulator and noise signal generator are equipped, so that picture evaluation test of receiver can be made by this unit only. Also, by using Eiden s 7706A Transmission Tester, BER measurement of TS packet format becomes possible. 1.2 Features (1) Plural digital modulated signal can be selected and output. Digital modulated wave, such as DVB-T system (Terrestrial: COFDM modulation: BDW 6, 7, 8 MHz), DVB-H system (Terrestrial: COFDM modulation: BDW 5, 6, 7, 8 MHz), DVB-C system (Cable: QAM modulation), ATSC system (Terrestrial: 8VSB modulation), ITU-T J.83B system (Cable: QAM modulation), DVB-S system (Satellite: QPSK modulation) and DVB-S2 system (Satellite: PSK and APSK modulation) can be selected and output. (Output is 1 route.) (2) DVB-T/H hierarchy transmission option is equipped as standard. Hierarchy transmission option of EN300744 is equipped. (3) 2 routes of TS generator are equipped. 2 routes of independent TS generator are built-in and 2 kinds of TS are able to be output simultaneously. Re-writing of data is possible by transferring data to internal flash memory with replacement of compact flash card (CF card). (4) Noise signal generator is equipped. Noise generator is built-in. Noise level is calculated according to system, noise is added easy by only setting C/N. Setting range of C/N can be set 0 ~ 40 db for DVB-T/H, DVB-C, ATSC and ITU-T J.83B system, and 0 ~ 30 db for DVB-S system and DVB-S2 in 0.1 db step. By combination with Eiden s Transmission Tester, such as 7705A or 7706A, BER measurement of TS packet format becomes possible. (5) PRBS can be generated. PN23 (Pseudo Random Signal) can be generated at each modulation system. By this, combination with Eiden s Transmission Tester, such as 7705A or 7706A, is possible, so that BER measurement of TS packet format becomes possible. (6) IF Output Function For DVB-T/H, DVB-C, ATSC and ITU-T J.83B system, IF signal input / output terminals of 44 MHz are equipped. By this, combination with Eiden s 4409A or 4401A-DA1 (Diversity converter) is possible, so that expansion of fading wave generating system is possible. (7) Remote Control Remote control by GP-IB (IEEE488.2) is possible. Also, remote control by ETHERNET (10Base-T / 100Base-T) is possible by option. * Either [GP-IB] or [LAN] is selected. 3.5 Condition Indicating LED (1) FAN ALARM When FAN is stopped, this is lit in red color. (2) TS INPUT When TS input is normal, this is lit in green color. (3) TS OUTPUT 1 When TS is output from TS OUTPUT 1, this is lit in green color. (4) TS OUTPUT 2 When TS is output from TS OUTPUT 2, this is lit in green color.
