iway Application System Adapters provide rapid, service-oriented integration to virtually any packaged application system. iway Application System Adapters Provides cost-effective integration as part of the iway Universal Adapter Suite, a common toolset with codeless interfaces to more than 300 disparate systems Easily reuses application logic and data through Web services, plug-ins for integration suites, and open standards Supports uniform XML transactions over a wide variety of service interactions with application systems Accelerates business development with code-free, low maintenance adapters for optimal performance Eliminates the need to write and maintain point-to-point interfaces Accelerating Application Integration iway Software gets your integration projects off the ground quickly. The iway Universal Adapter Suite acts as a foundation for service-oriented architecture (SOA) by eliminating almost all of the hand-coding normally necessary to service-enable applications and legacy systems. And at iway Software, service-enable doesn't just mean Web services - any service you create with iway can be: Exposed through JCA, EDI, and XML Transported over any messaging software you may have, like WebSphere MQ and JMS Plugged into any tool or integration technology you already have Best of all, it doesn't take a lot of money to get started. IT organizations can get what they need when they need it, and build onto that foundation as new requirements arise. Simpler Interactions Among Complex Applications iway Application System Adapters eliminate the need to write and maintain pointto-point interfaces between packaged applications, integration middleware, diverse transaction systems, other applications, EDI networks, and legacy data stores.

These adapters provide direct links into packaged applications using a variety of APIs and message formats. Typically, these adapters include: An event listener Simplified access to additional application APIs React to Application Events Event listeners provide a simple way to let packaged applications trigger external processes when specific business events occur. A listener receives an input message from applications such as SAP, PeopleSoft, or Siebel, and then transforms the message into XML. The resulting document may then be transformed or integrated with other applications using iway s Universal Adapter Suite, or it may be handed off to other integration middleware for further processing. Interact With Disparate Systems in a Uniform Way In addition to allowing applications to trigger external events, Application System Adapters also let external events trigger processes within the target application. Packaged applications provide native APIs through C++, JavaTM, CORBA, XML, and more. Because of the diversity of interfaces, integrating several packaged applications can be as difficult as working with a variety of legacy systems. iway s Application System Adapters create a uniform way of integrating these disparate applications so that integration is faster, more cost-effective, and easier to maintain than competing solutions. Product Details Key features of iway Application System Adapters include: Support for synchronous and asynchronous bidirectional interactions between application systems, messaging services, application servers, integration brokers, and other third-party software packages iway Application Explorer, which introspects both standard and customized application objects for all applications and automatically captures metadata for event or service interaction Support for uniform XML transactions over a wide variety of service interactions with application systems iway Application System Adapters support the following integration operations: Service. A service is a request from one enterprise application platform to another application. The iway Universal Adapter Suite receives an XML service-request document from the calling application; transforms the document into the required format; interacts with the called application to invoke the appropriate business logic to perform inserts, deletes, and updates or to extract requested data; formats the result or any requested data into an XML serviceresponse document; and returns the data to the calling application. Event. An event is a message that an enterprise application emits to signal that an action has taken place. Here, the iway Universal Adapter Suite receives a business event from the application and then transforms the message data into an appropriate XML event document and sends the document to applications that are configured to receive it.

Application Systems Supported Ariba The iway Intelligent Adapter for Ariba uses cxml and CSV formats to interact with Ariba Buyer, Ariba Enterprise Sourcing, and Ariba Supplier Network. The iway Universal Adapter Suite also has the ability to map other formats, such as different XML messages, into cxml or CSV for code-free integration into the Ariba Enterprise Spend Management applications. Ariba Analysis Ariba Invoice Ariba Buyer v7.0.3 Ariba Contracts Ariba Enterprise Sourcing Ariba Workflow Ariba eforms Ariba Supplier Network Ariba Travel & Expense Ariba Marketplace Ariba Integration Channels Ariba Integration Events PunchOut HTTP BroadVision The iway Intelligent Adapter for BroadVision uses the BroadVision Interaction Manager to access business objects via Remote Method Invocation (RMI), J2EE interfaces using EJBs, and generic database CORBA interfaces. The adapter also supports BroadVision application-generated XML. BroadVision business events, such as the update of a customer record, are detected by the adapter via JMS message queues. BroadVision One-to-One Enterprise 6.0 Remote Method Invocation (RMI) via BroadVision Interaction Manager BroadVision Generic DB Accessor JMS Queues are used for outbound events Clarify Through the iway Intelligent Adapter for Clarify, integration is accomplished by leveraging Clarify Business Objects with service and event interfaces. Key features of the iway Intelligent Adapter for Clarify include the ability to: Use the Clarify Business Objects Generic APIs (insert, update, query, and delete functions) to integrate with the Clarify CRM Send requests to Clarify CRM Return data retrieved from Clarify CRM

Monitor a Clarify CRM database, stored in either Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle, which contains only the most recent changes made in a ClarifyCRM system. That information, when retrieved by the adapter, is formatted into an XML document for processing, transforming, and/or routing. Clarify Business Object APIs for services Database-level events via iway listeners for events Clarify CRM 10.1 to 12.5 Note: Currently the Clarify adapter is not supported in all the product lines other than BEA OEM. Commerce One The iway Intelligent Adapter for Commerce One uses the XML Portal Connector (XPC) and the XML development kit (XDK) API to create and encapsulate xcbl documents and its attachments into a standard Commerce One envelope to trigger business functions in Commerce One, such as an order processing event. The adapter utilizes XPC s published programming interfaces to capture and initiate Commerce One application system events. The event adapter is registered as a trading partner system so that it can listen for business events and transform the xcbl documents into uniform XML request documents for subscribing applications. Commerce One MarketSite 3.x and 4.x HTTPS XPC Sonic MQ i2 Technologies The iway Intelligent Adapter for i2 Technologies leverages i2 s proprietary programming interfaces, including the TradeMatrix and RhythmLink APIs, to perform updates to the Active Data Warehouse (ADW) and other application databases within the i2 Common Data Model. i2 business events, such as the update of a sales forecast, are detected by the appropriate VCM application and placed onto a message queue or communicated over HTTP or FTP. The adapter converts the incoming document into a SOAP WSDL-formatted XML request document and passes it to the appropriate application. i2 SRM SCM DCM

i2 TradeMatrix API i2 RhythmLink API SOAP HTTP FTP MSMQ JMS i2 J2EE interfaces Lawson Financials 7.0 The iway Intelligent Adapter for Lawson Financials executes Lawson business functions (request/response) and also processes events generated by the Lawson Event Listener (listener event). The Lawson Event Listener traps Lawson event information and propagates it to the adapter engine for additional processing. For request/response processing, the adapter runs Lawson business functions and application logic based on the Lawson Application Gateway Service (AGS) interface using a CGI interface. Any screen-based Lawson business function can be executed through the adapter. For listener event processing, the iway Intelligent Adapter for Lawson Financials captures transactions via documented exit points or by identifying changes in the underlying database. Lawson Financials on NT, UNIX, and AS/400 platforms CA Oracle E-Business Suite The iway Intelligent Adapter for Oracle executes Oracle application business functions and application logic using Oracle application interface tables, Oracle APIs as well as performing SQL functions directly on base tables and views. It is an easy, code-free deployment that enables you to integrate Oracle E-business applications to other applications and systems within your enterprise and SOA framework. Key Features Introspect metadata in the oracle data dictionary and generate schemas Requests that communicate with interface tables, APIs, base tables, and views Asynchronous as well as synchronous processing Bidirectional message/request processing XML-based requests and responses Back-end and JDBC error propagation Maintaining Oracle business logic, functionality, and security that ensure accuracy, control, and data integrity High availability and load balancing with RAC support s Oracle Interface Tables and Concurrent Programs Oracle APIs (Stored Procedures Under a Package) and custom procedures

Oracle Base Tables and View interaction to perform SQL functions Oracle events via a polling mechanism and table listener Oracle E-business Applications 11.5.7 to 11.5.10 and Oracle Suite 12 Oracle databases 8i, 9i, and 10g via ojdbc14.jar driver PeopleSoft The iway Intelligent Adapter for PeopleSoft provides bidirectional interface capabilities to PeopleSoft by leveraging the most powerful PeopleSoft integration technologies: Component Interfaces, Application Messaging, and Integration Broker. The iway Application Explorer exposes JDE EnterpriseOne objects at design time, automatically capturing metadata and business logic to accommodate customizations and extensions without writing custom code. By interfacing directly with the GenJava components at design time, the adapter can use standard or custom Master Business Functions and Z-Tables to generate all necessary request and response document schemas for runtime integration with JDE EnterpriseOne applications. JDE EnterpriseOne 7.3.2 and above on NT, UNIX, and AS/400 platforms GenJava, ThinNet, Master Business Functions, and Z-Tables JDEWORLD J.D. Edwards World provides interoperability by means of database tables. Triggers placed on tables place key information on the iway JDE custom table. An iway Adapter Manager-based

table listener retrieves this key information and passes the data in XML format to an associated iway transform. This transform maps XML from the table listener into an appropriate request document that is passed to the iway J.D. Edwards World agent. The agent makes the appropriate SQL call(s) to retrieve enrichment data from the J.D.Edwards World system. An additional transform maps this data into an appropriate insert request document to be passed back to the agent. The agent executes the request and inserts appropriate information into the J.D. Edwards World EDI tables, z-tables, or custom tables. WORLD A7.3 and WORLD A8.1 on A/S400 SAP iway Intelligent Adapters for SAP convert proprietary IDoc and SAP XML into a number of XML and non-xml formats, including cxml, xcbl, ebxml, OAG BOD, SQL, ANSI X12 EDI, UN/EDIFACT EDI, SWIFT, FIX, and HIPAA. They have over 550 formatting and transformation templates for standardized SAP IDoc (non-xml) documents and a GUI workbench tool that generates XML representations of IDocs, RFCs, and RFC-BAPIs from the production SAP Business Object Repository (BOR). iway Intelligent Adapters for SAP adhere to the SAP ABAP serialization rules published by SAP AG and support RFC-BAPI, RFC-IDoc, and SAP IRF XML formats.
