Christmas carol song sheets Silent Night All is calm, all is bright; Round yon Virgin Mother and Child, Holy infant, so tender and mild, Sleep in heavenly peace, Sleep in heavenly peace. Shepherds quake at the sight, Glories stream from heaven afar, Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia Christ the Saviour is born! Christ the Saviour is born. Son of God, love s pure light, Radiant beams from Thy holy face with the dawn of redeeming grace, Jesus Lord at thy birth, Jesus Lord at thy birth. While Shepherds Watched While shepherds watched their flocks by night, All seated on the ground, The angel of the Lord came down, And glory shone around. Fear not said he (for mighty dread had seized their troubled mind); Glad tidings of great joy I bring To you and all mankind. To you in David s town this day Is born of David s line A Saviour, who is Christ the Lord; And this shall be the sign: The heavenly babe you there shall find To human view displayed, All meanly wrapped in swathing bands, And in a manger laid. Thus spake the seraph; and forthwith Appeared a shining throng Of angels praising God, who thus Addressed their joyful song: All glory be to God on high, And to the Earth be peace; Good-will henceforth from heaven to men Begin and never cease.
We Three Kings of Orient Are We three kings of Orient are; Bearing gifts we traverse afar Field and fountain, moor and mountain, Following yonder star: O star of wonder, star of night, Star with royal beauty bright, Westward leading, still proceeding Guide us to Thy perfect light! Born a King on Bethlehem s plain, Gold I bring, to crown him again King forever, ceasing never, Over us all to reign: Frankincense to offer have I; Incense owns a Deity nigh; Prayer and praising all men raising Worship him, God most high: Myrrh is mine; its bitter perfume Breathes a life of gathering gloom; Sorrowing, sighing, bleeding, dying, Sealed in a stone-cold tomb: Glorious now, behold Him arise King, and God, and sacrifice! Heaven sings, Alleluia! Alleluia the earth replies. Once in Royal David s City Once in Royal David s City Stood a lowly cattle shed. Where a mother laid her baby In a manger for his bed; Mary was that mother mild, Jesus Christ her little child. He came down to earth from Heaven Who is God and Lord of all, And his shelter was a stable, And his cradle was a stall, With the poor, and mean, and lowly; Lived on earth our Saviour Holy. And through all his wondrous childhood He would honour and obey, Love and watch the lowly maiden, In whose gentle arms he lay; Christian children all must be Mild, obedient, good as he. For he is our childhood s pattern, Day by day like us he grew. He was little, weak, and helpless, Tears and smiles like us he knew; And he feeleth for our sadness, And he shareth in our gladness. And our eyes at last shall see him, Through his own redeeming love, For that child so dear and gentle Is our Lord in heaven above; And he leads his children on To the place where he is gone. Not in that poor lowly stable, With the oxen standing by, We shall see him, but in heaven, Set at God s right hand on high; When like stars his children crowned All in white shall wait around.
The First Noel The first Noel the angel did say Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay, In fields where they lay keeping their sheep, On a cold winter s night that was so deep. Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel Born is the King of Israel! They looked up and saw a star, Shining in the east, beyond them far; And to the earth it gave great light, And so it continued both day and night. And by the light of that same star, Three wise men came from country far; To seek for a King was their intent, And to follow the star wherever it went. This star drew nigh to the northwest; O er Bethlehem it took its rest, And there it did both stop and stay Right over the place where Jesus lay. Away in a Manger Away in a manger, No crib for a bed, The little Lord Jesus laid down His sweet head; The stars in the bright sky look down where He lay, The little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay. The cattle are lowing, the baby awakes; But little Lord Jesus, no crying he makes. I love thee, Lord Jesus; look down from the sky, And stay by my side until morning is nigh. Be near me, Lord Jesus; I ask thee to stay Close by me forever, and love me I pray; Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care, And fit us for heaven. to live with Thee there. Then entered in those wise men three, Fell reverently upon their knee, And offered there in His presence Their gold and myrrh and frankincense. Then let us all with one accord Sing praises to our heavenly Lord, That hath made heaven and earth of nought And with His blood mankind hath bought.
O Come all Ye Faithful O come all ye faithful, Joyful and triumphant, O come ye, O come ye, to Bethlehem Come and behold Him Born the King of Angels: Christ the Lord! God of God Light of Light, Lo! He abhors not the Virgin s womb; Very God, begotten, not created: Sing, choirs of Angels, Sing in exultation, Sing all ye citizens of heaven above: Glory to God in the highest Yea, Lord we greet Thee Born this happy morning; Jesus, to Thee be glory given, Word of the Father Now in flesh appearing: Thank you for supporting Shelter this Christmas. If you need any more information then please get in touch at corporate@shelter.org.uk Your support is vital Around Christmas time last year, five-year-old Amy and her mum Lorraine were told by their landlord that he needed them to move out. Desperate and unable to find anywhere affordable, Lorraine turned to the council who found them a tiny room with just one bed in a rundown B&B, miles from Amy s school and all their friends. But there was worse to come. Out of the blue, they were told that they d be turned out onto the streets at the start of the New Year. That s when Lorraine turned to Shelter s helpline. Within hours, our adviser contacted the local council and challenged the eviction. After fighting hard to make sure Amy and her mum weren t on the streets at Christmas, they were granted an extended stay at the B&B. This bought them enough time to find a permanent home close to Amy s school and the people they know and love.
