Releasing Your Spiritual Gifts... Synopsis What have we learned about Spiritual Gifts? In 1 Corinthians 12:7, we learn that spiritual gifts are given to believers by the Holy Spirit for the common good. Verse 11 says the gifts are distributed just as the Holy Spirit desires ( as He determines ). Ephesians 4:12 tells us these gifts are given for the equipping (preparing) of the saints for ministry (service) and for building up the body of Christ (for the common good).

Issue #1 Spiritual Gifts: Vested Vested or Situational Situational Vested: Each person has a gift (or few) and it is his/her possession. They are distributed to us by the Holy Spirit and become our property. Like a part of our body. Romans 11:29 (NIV) for God s gifts and his call are irrevocable.
Spiritual Gifts: Vested Vested or Situational Situational Situational: You have the Holy Spirit in you, the Holy Spirit is all the gifts, you then have all the gifts available. It is the Holy Spirit that determines what is given for the situation. You do not own or possess the gifts, you are a channel for them. John 14:12 (NIV) Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

It could be translated to each one He (God) is giving and keeps on giving. And passive passive - which means that the subject each one receives the giving from an outside source the Spirit.

God takes a person that He is using and gives him a further function.

Fruit of the Spirit and Gifts of the Spirit The fruit is not discovered,, as are the gifts; it is developed through the believer's walk with God and through yielding to the Holy Spirit. Although spiritual gifts help define what a Christian does,, the fruit of the Spirit helps define what a Christian is.
