Digital Content Archive Digital Content Archive (DCA) DCA Manages Data Online, Near-line or Off-line/Off-site DCA is a highly efficient, purpose-built, content archiving platform that serves not only as your low-cost tier 2 disk storage solution, but also hosts the DCA s powerful HSM and archiving application. This dual-purpose storage server design is cost-effective, scalable and energy-efficient. The DCA server can be configured for your particular workflow requirements, enabling users to set the correct balance of disk storage, tape or other storage tiers. Assets are initially saved into the DCA server and filed in a normal folder. The asset will then automatically move to a near-line storage tier based on disk, tape, DVD or RDX while maintaining its information in the online file system. It will appear as if it is still online with all of the asset s metadata information. In addition, DCA will allow you to move and catalog the removable media offline to a shelf while the DCA maintains its location and the asset still appears to be online. Leaves copy on DCA near-line disk and also places a copy on removable media (tape, optical, RDX). Copy_To_HSM Share Writes directly to removable media leaving a stub file in archive manager file system. dca_hsm Share Writes directly to the DCA s NTFS File System only (near-line disk in DCA). nas Share Migrates copies to disk (near-line) and copies to removable media, leaving a stub file on the near-line disk.
