Mepacs enhances safety at home and supports clients in maintaining their independence. Mepacs is a personal assistance call service monitored by our experienced support team 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Mepacs staff respond rapidly, with the right response. Our people know exactly what to do in an emergency. Using a convenient light-weight pendant, clients connect from home to our emergency response centre, ensuring dependable assistance in the case of a fall, illness or medical emergency. Mepacs is Australian run and part of a major hospital and healthcare group. We have access to aged care services that support us in providing the right response to clients. No assessments or waiting periods apply. Mepacs is also trusted by government to provide a quality assured service to thousands of Australians who meet eligibility criteria, via a government funded service Personal Alert Victoria (PAV).

Who uses Mepacs? Mepacs is ideal for people who: Wish to maintain their independence at home Feel anxious living alone Are frail, incapacitated or living with a disability Have a visual or hearing impairment Are recovering from surgery Live in a retirement village, or; Simply want the security of being monitored and cared for 24 hours a day. Support at the press of a button The Mepacs personal alarm system is very easy to use. Clients wear their pendant around their neck or wrist. The client presses their emergency pendant in the event of feeling unwell, an emergency, or fall. Our friendly staff respond immediately. We can speak to the client using a voice-to-voice feature of the alarm unit even if they are in another room and cannot get to the phone. Depending upon the emergency, our support team asks one of the nominated Contacts to check on the client, or we call the most appropriate emergency service and help is arranged.

In addition to emergency monitoring, clients can choose the option of a daily call wellbeing check. Our clients and their families tell us that this service provides them with valued reassurance. The role of Contacts A minimum of two nominated friends or relatives who live within 30 minutes operate as Contacts. They are available to access the home of the Mepacs Client to check on their wellbeing at any time. Additional Contacts may also be nominated. What does Mepacs cost? After an initial installation fee, clients pay less than a dollar a day for 24 hour monitoring and the peace of mind that Mepacs gives them.
