Spiritual Gifts Assessment This assessment will help you discover just how God has uniquely created you. General Instructions 1. Start by tearing off the last page (titled Spiritual Gifts Assessment Sheet ). This is where you will sum up your answers. On that sheet print your name and the date that you take the evaluation. 2. As you read each question on the evaluation (pages 2-6), answer each item with the number of your choice using the following scale (they are also listed at the top of each page). Place your answer in the blank before the question. There are no right or wrong answers, so just respond honestly with your first impression. 4 Almost always true ( that s me ) 3 Usually true ( I am often like that ) 2 Occasionally true ( I m rarely like that) 1 Almost never true ( that s not me at all! ) 3. When you have completed the questions, write your answers for each question on the Spiritual Gifts Assessment Sheet, moving across the page until you have written in all 120 answers. 4. Take a calculator and total the numbers for each column. Enter each column total in the space above the column letter near the bottom of the answer sheet. 5. After all the columns have been totaled, find your highest number. If you have a tie, pick one of them. Match the column letter below that number with the legend of spiritual gifts on page 7 and record that gift on the 1 st line at the bottom of the answer sheet (i.e., highest number was 33 in column D which is faith from page 6 1. D The gift of faith ). Do this with the next 2 highest column totals. These indicate your three primary spiritual gifts. 6. On pages 7-9 you will find descriptions of the spiritual gifts. Read through the descriptions of your primary gifts to see if they are a comfortable fit for you. Tips for a reliable assessment: 1. Don t put down what you want to be true or what you know should be true, but what is true of you. Be honest! 2. Your first impression is usually the right one. 3. A strong initial impression usually indicates a 4 or 1 ; a medium impression usually indicates a 2 or a 3. 4. Do not look back at numbers already recorded. 5. Don t try to figure out which gift each question refers to or think this refers to a ---, and that s what I am! Page 1
