Course Details Taught by industry experts, the course will provide you with an in-depth understanding of the built environment, building design, site preparation and lots more. Construction is a wide-ranging profession with many disciplines in the industry. This course offers an insight into the construction industry ranging from the initial planning stage through the design and building process of housing, industrial and commercial buildings. A mix of theory and practice, relating to construction & civil engineering, this course includes work experience, site visits and exhibition visits. What does the course involve? You will study a combination of theory, applied theory and practical subjects across a broad range of subjects. What are the assessment methods? There are no external examinations and the subjects are assessed by local tutors/lecturers and verified by external verifiers through a series of internally set assignments involving a combination of scenario based tasks linked to project work, practical exercises, timed tasks, individual study and presentations. To pass and successfully obtain the qualification, you must practically demonstrate with evidence that you own practical skills and knowledge and to apply it into practical work situations. Your award can be achieved at a pass, merit or distinction level depending upon your performance in each subject. What are the progression options? What are the Fees? Our fees are into the following two categories: (a) Institutional (Centre) Fees: These fees cover the costs of student s registration and teaching and learning services such as tuition fees. (b) Fees that are payable to our Industry Partners for use of their laboratories and Pearson BTEC for assessments etc. Please contact any of our Centres for more information about fees. Funding Opportunities? There are many funding options for BTEC International Level 2 Diploma in Construction. Students aged 23 years and above who are registered under mature entry or those with 26 points in six (6) subjects at grade 10 can apply for study loan with Namibia Students Financial Assistance Fund https://www.nasfaf.na/web/guest/students. Most of our students have been funded by their employer organisations including Government Ministries while others finance their studies on their own. How to apply Application, Admission & Registration Process A) Guidance and Information Get as much guidance and information as possible regarding course programs, methods of study, nature of courses, exemptions, registration processes with examinations bodies, accreditations, fees and career path guidance from our CPS team to enable you make a sustainable course decision; B) Completion of Study Enrolment Form Download and complete the enrolment agreement form and submit proof of payment for the stipulated registration fees together with your completed enrolment agreement to your centre of choice. To be considered for approval, the completed enrolment agreement form must be accompanied by: 1) Two (2) Pass Port Photos 2) Certified Copies of Qualifications 3) Payment of Registration Fees 4) Sponsorship letter if applicant is being sponsored by any organization 5) Letter of work experience from employer (s) where available C) Applicant must ensure that: 1) The enrolment agreement form is properly and fully completed and that each page is initialed and signed; 2) He/she provides all the required documentations such as certified copies of qualifications, Identity Card/Pass port photos, Supporting letters from employers, 3) He/she deposits registration fees into the respective Centre s Bank Account provided on the enrolment agreement form and submits original copy of the deposit as proof before being issued with an official receipt 4) He/she is issued with an official Centre Receipt, stamped with Official Company Stamp and Signed by the Centre Manager for every payment made to the Centre. Please note that CTPD does not receive cash payments, 5) He/she obtains a written acknowledge letter confirming that his/her completed enrolment agreement form has been received 6) He/she obtains status of his/her application for studies within 30 working days. If admitted, an Admission letter issued by the Admission section in the Quality Assurance and Compliance Office must also be obtained through the respective Centre together with the Time Table, Syllabuses, and any other information. 7

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS The Centre s entry requirements are: 1) Vocational Education & Training Level 2 Qualifications 1. Standard Requirements for Level 2 Vocational Qualifications 1. At least 16 and above years of age 2. Minimum of 23 points in six (6) subjects at Grade 10 level OR Level 1 Vocational Qualification 2. Mature Entry for Level 2 Vocational Qualifications 1. At least 23 and above years of age with grade 10 or 9 level of education 2. Pass the Aptitude Assessment 3. Must be prepared to undertake a three (3) months intensive Foundation or Bridging Course which does not form part of the actual qualification being registered for 3.
