Sfety Informtion Before instlling or using the loft ldder crefully red nd follow the sfety informtion elow. Before nd During Instlltion WARNING: The loft ldder MUST NOT e used until it hs een FULLY instlled. A seprte suitle ldder is needed to ccess the loft during instlltion. IMPORTANT: Two persons re needed to sfely complete the instlltion, one person working from inside the loft, the other on the ground elow. WARNING: The side locking ctches re not lod ering nd the loft ldder must not e used unless the pivot r stops hve een correctly nd fully instlled. WARNING: Ensure there is good flt ccess re t the se of the ldder to dismount sfely. A minimum re of squre metre is recommended. DO NOT use the loft ldder for ny purpose other thn tht for which it ws designed. DO NOT instll or use until you hve red the instructions completely. Ensure you understnd the limittions nd potentil hzrds. DO NOT instll if prts re missing or dmged. Check nd ensure there is enough cler internl loft spce for the ldder to e stowed efore ttempting instlltion (see the specifictions). IMPORTANT: In some cses it my e necessry to instll dditionl wooden rces or noggins to e le to fix the pivot r nd retining r in their correct positions. During instlltion ensure the work re is kept clen nd free from ostructions. Keep children, nimls nd unuthorised persons wy from the working re. Ensure there is sufficient lighting in the work res. Mintin the loft ldder in good condition. This product hs no servicele or replcement prts. Any dmge to the ldder will require the complete replcement of the ldder. Non-uthorised prts my e dngerous nd will invlidte the wrrnty. Using the Loft Ldder IMPORTANT: Red nd follow ll of the sfety informtion on the side of the ldder. DO NOT use if prts re missing or dmged. DO NOT llow children to clim the ldder. DO NOT use when tired, under the influence of lcohol, drugs or intoxicting mediction. Wer non-slip footwer nd if necessry clen the soles efore using the ldder. WARNING: Alwys ensure the locking ctches re fully engged efore use. Ensure the ldder rungs re horizontl nd oth ldder feet re on the floor. Only use the ldder for mximum of - 0 minutes t time. Alwys grip the ldder when climing. Alwys try to keep three points of contct with the ldder. Alwys fce the ldder when scending nd descending. Only crry light mterils (up to 0kg) up the ldder. Never exceed the totl sttic lod of 0kg. WARNING: Only to e used y one person t time. WARNING: Never over-rech when on the ldder. When not in use, stow the ldder securely. All ldders hve potentil injury risks, plese follow these instructions t ll times. Keep these instructions in sfe plce for future reference. Assemly nd Instlltion - The Htch nd Trpdoor Prepring the Htch nd Trpdoor: There should e no ostructions to the movement of the trpdoor, ny old supports or hinges from previous trpdoors should e removed. The new trpdoor should e minimum of 0mm thick with mm gp ll they wy round when fitted in the htch. IMPORTANT: DO NOT use the loft ldder until fully instlled.. Hnging the trpdoor Note: The trpdoor will ttch to the sme side of the htch frme s the ldder. Attch hinges to the trpdoor: Drill mm pilot holes nd screw the hinges (eqully spced) to one end of the trpdoor using x 8mm screws. Note: To increse the strength of the fixings, fill the screw holes with wood glue efore inserting the screws. Note: There MUST e minimum gp of 0mm etween the top of the trpdoor (when closed) nd top edge of the frme. Instll the trpdoor: Position the fitted hinges ginst the htch frme nd mrk the fixing hole positions. Drill mm pilot holes nd screw the hinges to the htch surround using x 8mm screws. Trpdoor closed height 8mm Trpdoor 0mm min. 8mm

Assemly nd Instlltion - The Htch nd Trpdoor. Prepring the trpdoor Close the trpdoor nd hold in position. & : At the opposite end to the hinges, mesure nd mrk line onto the trpdoor, mm in from the edge of the htch frme. mm Hinged end of trpdoor Mesure nd mrk centre line. c: Open the trpdoor nd drill mm hole where the lines meet nd snd off ny rough edges. Centre line Note: Drilling smll pilot hole first my help. Gp etween trpdoor nd htch frme c Ø mm Htch frme Trpdoor. Fitting the twist ctch ssemly Push the twist ctch collrs ( & ) into either side of the hole in the trpdoor with the lrge ctch collr () on the outside. From the outside, insert the pivot pin () through the hole nd secure with nut (). Note: The pivot pin must still e le to turn freely. Plce the ctch lever () onto the pivot pin (s shown) nd secure using the second nut (), gin ensure the pivot pin still turns freely. Mesure the thickness of the trpdoor nd dd 9mm. Drw line this distnce up from the ottom edge nd prllel with the htch opening. Thickness of trpdoor + 9mm Thickness of trpdoor Outside of trpdoor. Fitting the ctch rcket : From inside the loft. Close the trpdoor nd mrk verticl line on the inside of the htch frme in line with the centre of the twist ctch. : Open the trpdoor. Position the ctch rcket on the htch frme, lining up with the verticl nd horizontl lines s shown. Mrk the fixing hole positions. Drill mm pilot holes nd ttch the ctch rcket using x 8mm screws. Trpdoor closed 8mm 8mm

Assemly nd Instlltion - The Loft Ldder. Removing end cps, sliding on pivot r stops Remove oth stile end cps from the ck section of the ldder. Slide pivot r stop onto ech stile, do not secure t this time. Note: A pir of pivot r stops hve een pre-instlled t the top of the ldder. Stiles End cp. Sliding on pivot r ssemly Ensure the pivot r is fully ssemled. IMPORTANT: The pivot r rckets MUST e the correct wy round, s shown. Slide the pivot r ssemly onto the stiles. Pivot r sliders Pivot r rckets. Sliding on pivot r stops & refitting end cps Slide on the remining pivot r stops, do not secure t this time. Note: There re now pivot r stops on ech stile (including pre-fitted t the top of ech stile). Re-fit oth stile end cps.

Assemly nd Instlltion - The Loft Ldder. Attching the hndril Turn the ldder over. Attch the hndril to the side of the ldder you require, it cn e ttched to either side. Note: The hndril must e fitted to the opposite side of the ldder tht you intend ttching the retining r (see step 8). Plce wshers () onto the 6mm olts (), insert through the hndril, mounting lock () nd ldder. Attch using the nuts nd wshers ( & ). Fully tighten using n 8mm spnner.. Extending the loft ldder : Relese (push down) the locking ctch t the ottom of the ldder nd extend the ldder until it engges into the other ctch. : Relese (pull up) the locking ctch on the front section of ldder nd fully extend until it engges into the other ctch. IMPORTANT: Ensure oth ctches re fully engged. 6. Attching the pivot r DO NOT USE THE LOFT LADDER UNTIL FULLY INSTALLED. The instlltion now requires one person in the loft. Position the pivot r rckets onto the top of the htch frme (on the side the trpdoor is hung). Position the ldder centrlly in the htch nd ensure the ldder is squre with oth feet on the floor. Mke sure the pivot r rckets re pushed up ginst the sides of the ldder. Mrk the fixing holes onto the htch frme, drill mm pilot holes nd fix using 6 x mm screws. mm mm mm mm Trpdoor

Assemly nd Instlltion - The Loft Ldder 7. Angle the loft ldder nd fix pivot r stops : Position the ldder t the correct ngle (etween 6 nd 80 ). ENSURE THE LADDER IS LEVEL AND SQUARE. st : Position the st pir of pivot r stops ginst the pivot r sliders nd tighten. Note: A pir of pivot r stops hve een pre-instlled t the top of the ldder. 6º - 80º 8. Attching the retining r Attch the retining r () to the top of the ldder using the fixings pre-ssemled to the r. Note: The retining r must not e fitted on the sme side s the hndril. When re-ssemling, ensure the wshers () re positioned s shown. Tighten using two 8mm spnners. IMPORTANT: It my e necessry to instll dditionl wooden rces or noggins to e le to fix the retining r in the correct position. Tighten the nut securing the ngle rcket () to the retining r (). Do not over tighten, the rcket must e le to move freely. Fix the ngle rcket to the loft floor using x 8mm screws. 8mm Note: Ensure the retining r is inline with the ldder nd not t n ngle. 9. Stow the loft ldder nd fix pivot r stops c : Relese the ottom locking ctch, slide the front section of ldder up until it engges into the other ctch. : Relese the top locking ctch on the ck section of ldder, slide the front sections up until the locking ctch engges into the other ctch. c: Push the ldder up into the loft s fr s you cn y hnd, then insert the stowing pole into the side of the ottom rung nd crefully push the ldder up evenly nd squrely until fully stowed. d: Slide the nd pir of pivot r stops up to the pivot r sliders nd tighten. d Instlltion is now complete. nd 6

Using the Loft Ldder IMPORTANT SAFETY WARNINGS: Before using the loft ldder you must ensure tht: All pivot r stops re secured in position nd the screws re fully tightened. The hndril nd ll other fixings hve een fully tightened. You hve red ll of the sfety informtion contined in these instructions nd on the ldder. When the ldder is deployed, check tht: the locking ctches re fully engged. oth feet re on the ground. the ldder is t the correct ngle.. Closing nd opening the trpdoor To close the trpdoor: Insert the stowing pole into the twist ctch. Push the trpdoor up into its closed position nd rotte the ctch clockwise to engge (lock). To open the trpdoor: Insert the stowing pole into the twist ctch, rotte the ctch nticlockwise (unlock) nd crefully lower the trpdoor. To close To open. Stowing nd deploying the loft ldder : Insert the stowing pole into the side of the ottom rung nd crefully pull out nd down t the sme time. IMPORTANT: Alwys crefully control the descent of the ldder nd ensure tht no persons or nimls re in dnger of eing hit. : When the ldder stops, relese the locking ctch (t the ottom of the ldder) nd extend the ldder until it engges into the other ctch. c: Relese the locking ctch (on the front ldder section) nd fully extend the ldder until it engges into the other ctch. c IMPORTANT: Do not use the ldder unless oth locking ctches re fully engged.
