It is recommended that an insert cushion is used for very small babies. Page 5

9 Handle adjustment Face the seat: push the red button each side of the handle, rotate and release the red button to desired position until you hear a click. There are three positions available:- B () carrying/fitting position, make sure handle is locked. (B) Rocker - keep away from the edge of surfaces e.g. tables. (C) Feeding position. C NEVER place the car seat on a soft surface e.g. cushion, mattress, pillow etc, due to risk of suffocation if car seat tips over. Never leave a child unattended. 10 Removing the head hugger To remove the head hugger, undo the harness and remove the chest pads by sliding them down the harness. 12 Positioning the car seat (cont) The child seat must not touch the front passenger seat and should be level 13 Installing the car seat Choose a seat suitable for fitting the car seat to. See step 12 Positioning the car seat. Pull the seat belt straps so there is a lot of slack allowing you to wrap it around the car seat. This will make it easier to thread through the correct mounting points Page 8

13 Installing the car seat (cont) Fit the lap belt across the car seat by sliding the belt under the seat belt guide slots () on both sides of the car seat. Buckle up the car seat belt (B). B click Take the shoulder belt around the back of the car seat and attach it into the rear seat belt guide (). Make sure all the slack is taken out of the car seat belt. NOTE: pull front to back and left to right to check for secure installation. NOTE: vehicle MUST be on level ground and child seated when levelling. Page 9

13 Installing the car seat (cont) The car seatbelt buckle must be lower than the top edge of the car seat. If the vehicle seatbelt buckle is above the top edge of the child seat then this car seat is not suitable for the vehicle. This is called buckle crunch. It means the seatbelt tongue (the part that slots into the buckle) can bend over the top edge of the child seat. This can cause the vehicle seat belt to come undone in an accident. 14 Fitting the harness Press the belt adjuster button and pull on the shoulder harness straps to create slack. DO NOT pull on the shoulder pads as these may be fixed. Page 10

14 Fitting the harness (cont) Unbuckle the harness and move the shoulder straps apart. click Place the child in the seat and ensure there are no spaces under the child. Note: a new born baby may need extra support around the head and body. The child seat comes with a head hugger, but you may need to purchase an insert cushion if you are going to use it for a newborn or small baby less than 7 months old. Place the shoulder harness over the shoulders. Note: do not place your child in a sleeping bag, blanket or other bulky wrapping before putting the child in the restraint. The shoulder straps will not fit snugly and the child will not be safe. Buckle up the harness. Connect the two shoulder strap connectors () and insert into the buckle (B) Ensure harness buckle is firmly clicked into place. B click Page 11

14 Fitting the harness (cont) Pull the harness adjuster strap to secure the harness around the child. 1cm The harness should allow 1 finger-width (1cm) of space at the top of the shoulders. This is the ideal tightness. Note: check that the buckle is secured by attempting to pull the above and below part to remove the connectors. To release harness: Press the red button (B) on the buckle and pull out the shoulder harness. B click Page 12

15 Removing the car seat Press the red release button on buckle (B), unfasten the shoulder strap connectors (). B click Lift up the harness straps and lay them on the back or sides of the child seat.
