4 Instruction For Use Carefully unpack the appliance and remove all packaging materials. Clean each part with warm water, dishwashing liquid and a sponge then dry them carefully. Do Not immerse the electrical components in water or liquid. Ensure there are no foreign objects on or in the element compartment. Place the Base on a stable and flat surface. 4.1 Set Up After cleaning and thoroughly drying the Bowl, Bowl Cover, Locating Ring and Spinner Head, slide the Bowl all the way down over the Element Post. Align the lugs (on the inside of the Bowl) under the metal locking tabs on the side of the element post by rotating the bowl until the lugs are located under the locking tabs. Make sure it is secured and locked into position. To remove, rotate the bowl until the lugs are free from under the locking tabs and pull straight up and off. Locate Lugs under locking Tabs Place the Bowl Cover and Locating Ring on top of the bowl and ensure it is located properly. 4.2 Operation Ensuring the On / Off Switch is in the OFF position, plug into the power point and switch on. Switch On the unit - the Spinner Head will start to spin and the elements will start to heat up. Allow to preheat for at least 5 minutes at which time you can prepare the sugar and sticks. After preheating, turn the switch to the OFF position. The Spinner Head will stop spinning and the elements will turn off, however, take care as the Spinner Head and surrounding components will be very hot. Measure a level of sugar with the measuring spoon. Using the measuring spoon supplied, pour a level spoon of sugar into the centre receptacle in the top of the Spinner Head as shown. Switch the unit ON again and the Spinner head will start to spin and the elements will start to heat up. When you can see the Candy Floss web begin to fly out across the bowl, start to collect it on the wooden stick by holding the stick horizontally. Twirl the stick with your fingers while you circle the bowl. Continue to collect the Candy Floss making sure you are collecting it all. When all the sugar has been dispensed, turn the unit off. Page 8 of 11
Once the Spinner Head has come to a complete stop you can pour another measure of sugar in the Spinner Head and begin again. CAUTION: While the Candy Floss Maker is in operation or just finished operating, DO NOT TOUCH THE ROTATING SPINNER HEAD AS IT SPINS VERY FAST AND WILL BE VERY HOT! The Candy Floss web should been flowing more quickly as the unit should be sufficiently warmed up. NOTES: For optimum results, be sure to turn the unit ON and allow it to preheat for at least 5 minutes before starting. This allows the unit to properly warm up before beginning to actually spin the Candy Floss. Only add sugar to the Spinner Head when it has completely stopped. Never use ingredients other than pure granulated sugar or Candy Floss Sugar (Fairy Floss Sugar) as this will cause clogging. DO NOT overfill the sugar receptacle in the Spinner Head. DO NOT cover the appliance when operating or hot. 5 Cleaning Turn off and unplug and let cool prior to cleaning. After cooling, remove the Spinner Head by pulling it straight up. To remove the Bowl, rotate the bowl until the lugs are free from under the locking tabs in the element post and pull straight up and off. Wash parts in warm water, rinse and dry. Use a slightly damp sponge, clean the outside of the base unit and wipe with a towel to dry. Do not use abrasive creams, solvents, steel wool or scouring pads as they will damage the product. Do Not immerse the electrical components in water or liquid. Do Not place components in the dishwasher. Page 9 of 11
NOTE: Candy Floss is made by heating sugar. This turns the sugar granules into a liquid form. The liquid sugar is forced out of tiny holes in the Spinner Head by centrifugal force as the Spinner Head spins. As the liquid sugar hits the air, it returns to a solid but fluffy material that you would recognise as Candy Floss. Please ensure the Spinner Head is cleaned properly after every use. If not, the holes will get clogged and the liquid sugar will not be able to flow through the tiny holes property and the unit will not work correctly. DO NOT IMMERSE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS IN WATER OR LIQUID. 6 Troubleshooting Problem Possible Reason Remedy Excessive Vibration / Noisy Operation Candy Floss web not flowing when spinning. Too Much Sugar Added Spinner Head not fitted correctly No Sugar in Spinner Head Spinner Head not hot enough The Spinner Head is clogged Wrong Type of Sugar used Use Less Sugar Ensure slots in Spinner Head shaft are slotted over the pins in the Motor Drive Spindle. Turn off unit, allow head to stop spinning then add sugar Always preheat the spinner head as described under the heading Operation. Do Not leave the unit sitting for too long after preheating before adding the sugar and restarting the unit. Always clean the Spinner Head thoroughly after use. Soak in hot water to dissolve the sugar clogging the holes in the Spinner Head. If still blocked, attach the Spinner Head and spin (without sugar added) and with the element on for approximately 10 minutes to melt and discard the sugar clog Use only granulated sugar or special Candy Floss Sugar.
