MINISTERING GOD S ANOINTING WITH CONFIDENCE AND FAITH INTRODUCTION The moment we said yes to salvation and yes to a new life in Christ, a miracle happened. God came to live inside of you, inside of us. All that we need to live overcoming lives now dwells inside the heart/spirit of the believer. The Spirit of God, who is the power of God came in and cast out darkness bringing light and life to our inner man. This gives us the right to all of God s spiritual inheritance. The question we have to ask ourselves is, Am I allowing the Holy Spirit lead my life as a vessel He can use? If the answer is yes, how can we get to the place where the Holy Spirit can release His power through us and we begin to see breakthrough after breakthrough? Identity and faith are two major principles that we must be grounded in if we are to operate in the supernatural. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name. John 1:12 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world our faith. 1 John 5:4 I. BE SECURE IN YOUR POSITION IN CHRIST God s anointing is linked together with the power of righteousness. The enemy looks for open doors in the life of a believer to torment, afflict and hinder one s faith. This is why Jesus said He had no fear of the enemy and why He had such confidence whenever He prayed to His Father or whenever He confronted the powers of darkness. Righteousness is our legal position that we stand in before the Lord. Salvation gave us the righteousness of Jesus. We grow in our knowledge of righteousness through the knowledge of God s word and we grow in confidence by exercising our authority in Christ. Righteousness releases God s dominion to rule. A. Jesus throne is one of righteousness. But to the Son He says: Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom. Hebrews 1:8 B. The anointing of God increases and is released with authority by growing in the knowledge of Christ s righteousness in us. It is vital to know who we are in Christ. You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions. Hebrews 1:9

C. The anointing dwells in and upon the believer. But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him. John 2:27 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. Acts 1:8 D. The authority of a believer s life is connected in how one lives. It is an abomination for kings to commit wickedness, for a throne is established by righteousness. Proverbs 16:12 Mercy and truth preserve the king, and by lovingkindness he upholds his throne. Proverbs 20:28 Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne will be established in righteousness. Proverbs 25:5 E. The spirit of the anti-christ seeks to oppose the anointing of every believer. 1. Christ Cristos - Anointed One 2. Anti-christ = opponent of the Anointed One. 3. Satan seeks to oppose us through wrong beliefs, wrong thoughts, guilt, shame, condemnation, wrong doctrine, offense, rebellion, pride, sin, fear (1 Timothy 1:18, 2 Timothy 1:5-9, James 4:7-10, 1 Peter 5:5-9) II. SPIRIT OF FAITH AND BOLDNESS Confidence in the anointing of God is directly related to one s belief, how they see themselves and how they believe God sees them. Once we are secure in the righteousness of Christ, we must begin to live in faith and boldly confront life s issues. The enemy seeks to intimidate us in order to quench God s inherited authority that has already been given to us. Satan fears the potential that resides in us as God s Sons and Daughters. Satan seeks to cause doubt by filling our mind and soul with fear. Resist him steadfastly in your faith (1 Peter 5:8-9).

A. His righteousness has made us new creatures in Christ thereby making us His ambassadors. Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:20-21 B. We have become His co-workers in the work of the ministry. We must believe this and our lives must exemplify this belief. Our bodies, thoughts, emotions must align themselves to the truth that brings liberty. For we are God s fellow workers; you are God s field, you are God s building. 1 Corinthians 3:9 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. John 15:16 C. As ambassadors and partners in the work of God we must be sure of His calling upon our lives and of His presence being with us always. Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name... Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10:17,19 And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen. Mark 16:20...how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. Acts 10:38 D. Without faith, we cannot bring pleasure to God nor release breakthrough to the ones in need. Now the just shall live by faith; but if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him. Hebrews 10:38 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6

III. OPERATING IN THE POWER OF GOD When Jesus commissioned His disciples, He did not send them out to face the enemy empty handed. In chapter nine of the book of Luke we learn how Jesus well equipped His believers to go out to preach the gospel of the kingdom and to also manifest it with power. Learning to operate in God s anointing is also learning to manifest God s power when facing all kinds of opposition against us. Observe how God s power was manifested through the early church. Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. Luke 9:1 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. Acts1:8 A. Jesus gives His disciples power and authority over ALL demons and diseases. Demons are to be cast out and diseases are to be cured. B. Jesus gave His disciples POWER. Power comes from the Greek word dunamis. 1. Dunamis - miraculous power 2. God s Dunamis has an explosive element when it manifests. It s God s power that actually breaks in as a result of God s tangible presence in our midst. C. Below are several examples where the Greek word Dunamis is used when describing the power of God manifesting through Jesus and His disciples. There is a clash of two kingdoms that becomes evident to the one that God s power is working through. 1. When God s Dunamis is present, there are times one can actually feel God s power on their body working and flowing through them Mk 5:27-30, Luke 6:19 2. Seeing God s power manifest is also possible when God chooses to open our eyes to the supernatural - Mark 9:1 3. God s power can drastically alter the spiritual atmosphere we find ourselves in. This will be extremely evident in the end times as God s power breaks in and satan s kingdom does all it can to resist It - Mark 13:25-26

4. Violent Confrontations can take place when the enemy is confronted by the Dunamis power of God - Luke 4:33 5. God s power is discernable, thereby helping us to sense what God s Spirit is desiring to do. This is a major key to be able to effectively minister in the anointing of the Holy Spirit - Luke 5:17 6. God likes to publicly display His power that He might get the attention of the human heart. God s power is used to draw the attention of sinners to Himself and His plan of salvation - Acts 1:8, 2:1-13, 37-39 7. The prophetic anointing carries with it the measure of God s Dunamis power. This is especially evident when God s word is being boldly proclaimed. We must remember that God s end time prophetic anointing simply means to speak by divine inspiration. John the Baptist does not have one Dunamis miracle recorded in scripture but God s word declares that John operated under the Dunamis anointing of God s Spirit. He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. Luke 1:17 IV. OPERATING IN THE AUTHORITY OF GOD Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10:19 A. Authority Exousia Delegated authority, influence and jurisdiction. B. We operate in Exousia from the point of who we are in Christ. This is why faith and identity are so critical to being able to operate in God s power. Dunamis is discernable and may come with physical manifestations. It s God manifesting a breakthrough. Exousia does not usually manifest with manifestations. C. Exousia is knowing that God wants to break in even if there are no physical indicators. One may feel much resistance from demonic spirits or unbelief, but one must then tap into the Exousia of God s authority in order to see a manifestation come forth.

And wherever it seizes him, it throws him down; he foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth, and becomes rigid. So I spoke to Your disciples, that they should cast it out, but they could not. He answered him and said, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to Me... Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help my unbelief! When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it: Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more! Mark 9:18-19, 24-25 D. Below are several examples from scripture showing Christ and His disciples operating in the Exousia power of God in normal every day circumstances. 1. Jesus faced much opposition because of the anointing upon His life. Because of the confidence He had with His relationship to His father, He was able to boldly manifest His will in every situation He faced - Matthew 8:5-13; 9:1-7; 21:23; 28:18, Mark 1:21-27, John 10:18 2. After being moved by compassion Jesus raised a young man who was dead on the way to his burial. God s compassion is able to stir us up in order that God s love and mercy may manifest a miracle - Luke 7:12-15 3. We are to operate in our Exousia from the simple fact of who we are and what God says He can do through us - John 1:12 4. Everyday life will give us opportunities to release the mercy and goodness of God. Miracles and God s power are meant to be displayed anywhere and at any given time - Acts 3:1-8 5. The enemy will seek to intimidate God s power from manifesting. We are to simply shake it off by faith - Acts 28:2-6 6. The power to speak things into manifestation is another way God uses us to release His delegated authority. Faith must be strong in the inner man in order for His Word to be able to manifest at our command - Romans 4:17-21
