LIFE DISTRIBUTION FUND Guide LEGAL & GENERAL LIFE DISTRIBUTION FUND. Good funds prove themselves over time. We re celebrating the achievements, performance and longevity of our Life Distribution Fund. Many funds in its sector have come and gone, merged or closed to new investors, but our fund has stayed the course. Available through our Select Portfolio Bond, Portfolio Bond and Investment Bond. You should read this document together with your Key Features, Funds key features and Illustration, which give you details of all charges applicable to your bond. If you need more detailed information or have any questions, please ask your adviser.

We believe our Life Distribution Fund is suitable for investors looking for: a medium to long-term investment (five years, ideally longer) growth, income, or a combination of both from their investment with a range of regular withdrawal options an actively managed fund that ensures a balanced mix of equities, fixed interest securities, commercial property and cash, whatever the market conditions a popular fund with a long track record, run by Legal & General Investment Management Limited, one of the largest investment management companies in the UK. IMPORTANT INFORMATION We have tried to add the relevant warnings where appropriate throughout this Guide. However, as a reminder before you invest it s important to understand the following: The value of an investment in the fund can fall as well as rise, is not guaranteed and you may get back less than you invest. Although there is no fixed term, you should be prepared to invest for at least five years and ideally not tie yourself to a particular end date. Past performance of the fund is not a guide to future performance. More detail on the specific risks associated with the fund are in the Funds key features. You should read the Funds key features carefully, along with the Key Features for the product and Illustration.

our life distribution fund. Our Distribution Fund has ridden the ups and downs of the markets for over 20 years. During this time we ve seen many significant events that have caused markets to react in positive and negative ways. The last few years have been no exception. We believe our principles of investing in a broad range of asset types and geographical areas have never been so important. Now in its twenty third year, the fund has grown to be one of the largest life funds in the UK, holding over 3.9 billion in assets as at 31 March 2016. The management approach is essentially based on the old saying don t keep all your eggs in one basket. It means spreading your money across a number of different assets and regions in order to reduce reliance on any one particular asset type or area.

The four main asset classes our Distribution Fund invests in are: ASSET CLASS where invested AIM RISKS Equities A mix of UK and overseas equities (or shares) To deliver long-term returns above the level of inflation Value of capital and income can vary up or down (known as volatility). Can be more volatile than other asset classes Fixed Interest Securities Including government and corporate bonds and other interest paying securities To provide a source of secure income Levels of income and risk vary depending on credit ratings. See page 5 for more information Commercial Property Including direct investment in offices, factories, shops and warehouses. Also a small amount of indirect property investments such as property companies that invest directly in property To deliver high levels of income Capital values can go up or down. Investments directly in commercial property can sometimes be difficult to buy and sell quickly Cash Bank deposits and other cash-like investments To provide capital security and easy access Potential income is lower than that of other asset classes Please see your Funds key features for more information on asset classes and details of the specific risks that apply to the Distribution Fund. The fund gives you the potential to achieve growth on your investment as well as providing the option for you to receive an income. Fund aim To generate an income that is sustainable over the long term by investing in a broad mix of assets, including company shares, fixed interest securities, commercial property and other investments. The fund also offers the potential for capital growth over the long term. Core Principles To maintain a diversified mix of asset classes within the fund structure. To consistently manage the fund in a robust and conservative way, whatever the market conditions, to ensure it retains a diversified mix of assets. Please remember the value of your investment in the fund and any income you receive is not guaranteed, may fall as well as rise and you may get back less than you invested.

reasons to choose our life distribution fund. Since 1 June 1994 our Life Distribution Fund has seen many funds in its sector come and go, merged or closed to new investors, but this fund has stayed the course. We believe this is because it can offer you real diversity and balance by investing in all major asset classes, offering you a balanced portfolio. VITAL STATISTICS OF THE FUND Launch date: 1 June 1994 Fund size: over 3.9 billion as at 31 March 2016. Fund Manager: Kevin Chessum, from April 2011. Only three Fund Managers since launch. The fund is actively managed, which means the asset mix could vary on a daily basis depending on the performance of the individual asset classes and the fund manager s view. Property 10.18% Cash and equivalents 3.76% Other 0.86% Overseas Bonds 24.92% ASSET MIX AS AT 31 March 2016 Fixed interest securities 45.25% Equities 39.95% Property 10.18% Cash 3.76% Other 0.86% Overseas Equities 18.14% Credit ratings of fixed Interest Securities AS AT 31 March 2016 Investment Grade SUB-Investment Grade 71.05% 28.95% UK Equities 21.81% UK Gilts 1.07% UK Corporate Bonds 19.26% Sub-investment grade fixed interest securities are also known as high yield bonds, which are considered higher risk than investment grade securities. Please see your Funds key features for more information.

LONG-TERM GROWTH 25,000 invested in the fund on 1 June 1994 would have grown to a value of 91,492.78 on 31 March 2016.* This is equivalent to annualised growth of 6.12% a year. Please note that past performance is not a guide to future performance. Source: *Lipper. still going strong Diversifying investments can increase opportunities for growth and income. It can also help reduce the risk that a single poor performing asset class or geographical area will jeopardise the value of the investment or income. The graph opposite shows how the fund has used this strategy to cope with the ups and downs of investment markets since it launched in 1994. The graph OPPOSITE shows how our Life Distribution Fund has performed since 1994 and how it compares against the following: BENCHMARK ABI UK Distribution Funds Life ABI UK All Companies Life ABI UK Direct Property Life ABI UK Sterling Fixed Interest Life DESCRIPTION The average performance of all Life Companies Distribution Funds. 8 investment for income, growth, or both. Our Life Distribution Fund is designed to offer our customers the opportunity of achieving investment growth whilst having the option of receiving an income from their investment. REGULAR WITHDRAWALS Your bond offers a range of withdrawal options including fixed, variable (based on fund value) and natural income. You can also decide how often to take fixed or variable income - monthly, quarterly, half yearly or yearly. Alternatively, you can decide not to take regular withdrawals at all. NATURAL INCOME This option allows you to receive the income generated from the assets that the fund invests in, rather than having this reinvested for growth. This is known as Natural Income. The natural income is made up of: Dividends from equities Interest from fixed interest securities and cash deposits Rent from property investments. How we do it At the end of every May and November we announce a distribution rate, which is a number of pence for every unit held. This rate represents the amount of income built up in the fund that is to be distributed. The graph below shows the historical distribution rates declared for our investment bonds since 1995. You can find the distribution rates for our Investment Bond, Portfolio Bond and Select Portfolio Bond at legalandgeneral.com/investments by clicking on Prices and Reports. distribution rate (pence per unit) 3.5 3.25 PENCE PER UNIT 3 2.75 2.5 2.25 Investment Bond Portfolio Bond Select Portfolio Bond (pre 31/12/2012) Select Portfolio Bond (Wealth Managers) 2 30/11/1994 30/11/1995 30/11/1996 30/11/1997 30/11/1998 30/11/1999 30/11/2000 30/11/2001 30/11/2002 30/11/2003 30/11/2004 30/11/2005 30/11/2006 30/11/2007 30/11/2008 30/11/2009 30/11/2010 30/11/2011 30/11/2012 30/11/2013 30/11/2014 30/11/2015 DISTRIBUTION DATE Source: Legal & General Please note that past performance is not a guide to future performance. The distribution rate is different for each product to take into account the different charges that apply.

Current anticipated starting amount of natural income The current anticipated starting amount of natural income is 3.96% of the amount invested in the fund. This figure is based on the November 2015 distribution rate and an investment made into the Select Portfolio Bond (Wealth Managers) on 29 February 2016. This figure takes into account all charges except any facilitated adviser charges. For example Amount of investment into the fund: 80,000 Unit price of the Legal & General Life Distribution Fund ls5 on 29 February 2016: 137p ( 1.37) Number of units purchased: 80,000 1.37 = 58,394.16 units Distribution rate announced for November 2015: 2.71p for each unit held ( 0.0271) Amount of natural income: 58,394.16 units x 0.0271 = 1,582.48 Natural income is payable twice a year, so to calculate an anticipated annual amount we multiply this figure by two: 1,582.48 x 2 = 3,164.96 Anticipated starting amount of natural income as a percentage of the amount invested in the fund: 3,164.96 80,000 x 100 = 3.96% The actual amount of natural income that you ll receive depends on the date you invest, the distribution rates we declare and any facilitated adviser charges you agree to. It could be higher or lower than the figure shown - please see the Select Portfolio Bond Key Features for more information on facilitated adviser charges.
