GPA Policy To declare JOMC as a major, the student must have a 2.500 cumulative grade point average. A student cannot enroll in JOMC classes to increase their GPA to meet the minimum GPA requirement. To remain a JOMC major, a student must have a minimum 2.500 major and 2.000 cumulative GPAs. A student not meeting the minimal requirements will be placed on probation from the department for two semesters. If the student does not meet the minimal requirements after the probation period, the student is no longer a JOMC major. *All JOMC majors must successfully pass the grammar proficiency exam and the exit exam to fulfill graduation requirements. Journalism & Mass Communication Important Information: A minimum of 72 hours must be outside journalism and mass communication. A minimum grade point average of 2.5 is needed in mass communication. Suggested Outside Classroom Activities: Student organizations include Media Network, NABJ, PRSSA, Honors Program with a 3.50 cumulative GPA. Professional activities include directing, video taping, and producing newscast and video productions in television studio. Extracurricular activities also include performing, directing, producing for university and college productions, performing volunteer broadcast work for student organizations and local community, attending meetings and conferences affiliated with electronic media and journalism, see advisor.

GPA Policy To declare JOMC as a major, the student must have a 2.500 cumulative grade point average. A student cannot enroll in JOMC classes to increase their GPA to meet the minimum GPA requirement. To remain a JOMC major, a student must have a minimum 2.500 major and 2.000 cumulative GPAs. A student not meeting the minimal requirements will be placed on probation from the department for two semesters. If the student does not meet the minimal requirements after the probation period, the student is no longer a JOMC major. *All JOMC majors must successfully pass the grammar proficiency exam and the exit exam to fulfill graduation requirements. Journalism & Mass Communication Important Information: A minimum of 72 hours must be outside journalism and mass communication. A minimum grade point average of 2.5 is needed in mass communication. Suggested Outside Classroom Activities: Student organizations include Media Network, NABJ, PRSSA, Honors Program with a 3.50 cumulative GPA. Professional activities include directing, video taping, and producing newscast and video productions in television studio. Extracurricular activities also include performing, directing, producing for university and college productions, performing volunteer broadcast work for student organizations and local community, attending meetings and conferences affiliated with electronic media and journalism, see advisor.
