The Benefits of Fearing God
Why is it so important to develop a healthy fear of God? Job 28:28 But to man He said, Behold, the reverential and worshipful fear of the Lord that is Wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding. Whatever we fear we worship The more you fear man the less you will fear God, The more you fear God the less you will fear man. You will either fear God or Man, you can not fear both.
How do you define a healthy fear? A healthy fear means to honor, to reverence, and to worship! To be filled with awe; to wonder; to be amazed; to be astonished; to respect; to have a great fear, reverence and awe, a reverential trust, with a hatred for evil; to fear God s judgement and wrath. Psalm 128:1 BLESSED (HAPPY, fortunate, to be envied) is everyone who fears, reveres, and worships the Lord, who walks in His ways and lives according to His commandments.
What are the Benefits of fearing God? GOD WILL TEACH YOU HOW TO MAKE CHOICES. Psalms 25: 12 (KJV) What man is he that fearth the Lord? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose. YOUR SOUL WILL EXPERIENCE REST, AND YOUR CHILDREN WILL RECEIVE AN INHERITANCE. Psalms 25:13 (KJV) His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth. GOD WILL SHARE SECRETS WITH YOU. Psalm 25:14 (KJV) The secrets of the Lord is with them that fear him: and he will shew them his covenant. ANGELS WILL BE WITH YOU TO DELIVER YOU. Psalms 34:7 (ASV) The angel of Jehovah encampeth round about them that fear him, And delivereth them. YOU WILL NOT WANT FOR ANYTHING. Psalms 34:9 (ASV) Oh fear Jehovah, ye his saints; For there is no want to them that fear him. YOU WILL EXPERIENCE SALVATION. What are the signs of not having a healthy fear of God? Can you examine your life and find that you are with holding from God? (Time, talent, treasures etc..) - Gen. 22:12 Are you clinging to God and hating evil? - Det. 13:4; Det. 10:20 Are you living a yielded, surrendered and submitted life? - Ro. 6:11; Gal.2:20; Are you passionate about God? - Heb. 10:22 Do you long for times of rich fellowship in God's Word and in prayer? - 1Chr. 16:11 Jn. 16:24 When you have free time, do you find that your thoughts are reflecting upon The Lord? - Mark 12:30 During praise and worship are you a spectator or are you participating and totally engaged? - 1Chr. 16:29; Psa. 95:6; Psa.96:9
The Signs Continued... Do you view the instruction in the Word as restrictions to your happiness. - Jn. 14:21 Do you live in the awareness that your works will be judged? - 2Tim.4:1 10. Do you give into things that you know that displease God and then dismiss or excuse it by say, " I am only human"? - Mark 12:30 11. In your heart do you envy sinners in their ways? - Psa. 37:1; Pr.23:17 Are you wise in your own eyes? - Pr. 26:12; Ro. 12:16 What is you first response when confronted with a crisis? - 2Chr. 20:3 Do you fear lost? (Job, house, possessions etc..) Do you fear rejection? - Pr. 29:25

Do you have a desire to win others to Christ? - 2Cor. 5:11 Are you teaching your children and your grandchildren to honor God? - Det. 7:4 Are you harsh, controlling and oppressive of others? - Pr.14:31 How do you speak of your husband, Pastor, teachers, policeman, Judge, the laws of the land and your boss? - Col.3:22; Eph. 6:5; 1Pet.2:10,17; 2Pet. 2:10 20. Do you follow the laws of man when they are counter to the laws of God? - Ex.1:17 Do you treat every Christian brother as you would The Lord Himself? - Jn.13:34 Do you refuse to give up an activity that you know offend a weaker brother or sister? - 1Cor.8:9; 1Jn.2:10 Does the approval of man mean more to you than the approval of God? - Jn.12:43; Gal. 1:10
How can one cultivate a healthy fear of God? Gain a knowledge of the God by studying His names. - Pr. 2:5 Practice worship.-psa.145:19 Live in a state of being in His presence.-psa.16:8;psa.145:18; Je.23:23 Make ever effort to honor those in authority. - 1Thes.5:12 Be willing to examine yourself. - 2Cor. 7:1 When you pray honor The Lord by bowing or kneeling before Him? - Ex.. 3:5
