Prayer is one of the most intimate and powerful things that we will ever do. Yet, most of us feel intimidated when we hear other people pray. They sound so eloquent and we tend to feel as though our prayers won t be answered if we don t pray the same way. But, it is the simple act of faith that caused you to ask God to intervene that gets His attention. That s why we encourage everyone to pray, knowing, that no matter how we pray, God listens. Over the next two weeks, we invite you to pray these simple prayers and write down your thoughts as you feel led. Thank you for allowing KSBJ to boldy pray alongside you!
Day 1 Pray for God s grace. Each time He said, My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness. So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 2 Corinthians 12:9 PRAYER: God, I know I can t handle things by my own strength. Please give me the grace I need to make it through today.
Day 2 Pray for strength to follow God s will. You can make many plans, but the Lord s purpose will prevail. Proverbs 19:21 PRAYER: Even though I don t understand Your plans, I choose to follow You.
Day 3 Pray to see God working. And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Romans 8:28 PRAYER: Lord, I know You work all things for good. Open my eyes to see all the ways You re working in my life.
Day 4 Pray for peace. Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. Ephesians 4:3 PRAYER: God, bring peace to our country. Help unite us for Your glory.
Day 5 Pray for focus. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31 PRAYER: Help me rise above my circumstances and keep my focus on You.
Day 6 Prayer of gratitude. Don t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, I will never fail You. I will never abandon You. Hebrews 13:5 PRAYER: God, You re faithful. Thank You for never failing me.
Day 7 Pray to give God control. O Sovereign Lord! You made the heavens and earth by Your strong hand and powerful arm. Nothing is too hard for You! Jeremiah 32:17 PRAYER: Nothing is too hard for You! I give You complete control.
Day 8 Pray for faith. And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him. Hebrews 11:6 PRAYER: God, please remove my doubt and increase my faith in You.
Day 9 Pray for a giving heart. Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back. Luke 6:38 PRAYER: Lord, all I have comes from You. Let me give to others freely, compassionately, and without judgement.
Day 1O Pray for courage to stand firm. Then Jesus said to His disciples, If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow Me. Matthew 16:24 PRAYER: Help me remember that following You isn t always easy, but is always worth it.
Day 11 Pray for God s forgiveness. Don t be selfish; don t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Philippians 2:3 PRAYER: Forgive me for putting myself first today.
Day 12 Pray for God to restore your heart. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed. Psalm 34:18 PRAYER: Lord, heal my broken heart.
Day 13 Pray for God s presence. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Matthew 28:20 PRAYER: God, I know You re with me. Let me see You, let me feel You.
Day 14 Pray for a loving spirit. But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! Matthew 5:44 PRAYER: Show me how to love others like You love me.
