Power lifting 1. Athletes in the sport are divided in five weight classes and placing is based on the total weight lifted on the three main lifts: a. Squat b. Bench Press c. Deadlift 2. Five bodyweight categories: up to 56kg, 62kg, 69kg, 77kg, +77kg. 3. Each competitor is allowed three attempts on each lift. The lifter s best valid attempt on each lift counts toward his competition total. 4. Three referees judge the lift. 5. If two or more lifters achieve the same total, the lighter lifter ranks above the heavier lifter. 6. A good lift is signaled by indicating a white flag, and an illegal one by a red flag. 7. Once the highest value has been collected for each lift, the total weight lifted in squat, bench press and deadlift is added up. 8. The lifter with the highest combined weight lifted becomes the champion. 9. In the case of a tie, then the lifter whose body weight is less becomes the champion. 10. The weight of an athlete's first lift determines their place in the starting order. If they choose to go for a light weight, they will go earlier in the order. 11. Weighing of players will start 2 hours before the competition. 12. During the weighing player must mention his first lift for squat, bench press and deadlift to referee. 13. Player must come with proper kit during competition. 14. A player can participate in only one category. Carrom 1. For the very first turn, the player is allowed three attempts to "break" i.e. disturb the central group of counters. 2. If the striker pockets the Queen and/or one or more pieces of her own colour, the player retrieves the striker and takes another strike. 3. Should a player pocket the Queen before being permitted to cover it, the turn continues but the Queen is returned to the centre at the end of the turn. 4. When a player pockets the Queen but does not cover it, the Queen is returned as near as possible to the centre circle by the opponent. 5. Pieces returned to the centre can be placed on top of other pieces within the main circle. 6. If the striker comes to rest under another piece, the striker should be removed with as little disturbance to the covering piece as possible. 7. Scoring The maximum score for one game is therefore 14 points. A match is played to 29 points.
Lawn tennis 1. Tie Format: Best of three matches (2 singles + 1 doubles). 2. Format of the matches will be Singles-Doubles-Singles. 3. The two singles matches must be played by different players. 4. The Rules of Tennis 2013 as released by the ITF will be followed. 5 All participants need to come in proper kit shorts. 6. No college shall be allowed to enter more than one team in the competition except the home team. 7. For Girls matches and Mixed Doubles: The team strength would be minimum - 2, maximum 4. 8. Each match would be a Best of Three MINI-SETS tie break match (first to win 4 Games with a difference of at least two or a tie break in case of 3-3). The semi-finals, bronze medal match and final would be played in FULL SETS (6 games). Athletics 1. Maximum 4 competitors are allowed in an event from a college. 2. An Athlete can participate only in 2 events, excluding relays. 3. Events: (i). Men - 100 M, 200 M, 400 M, 800 M, 1500 M, 5000 M, 400 M Hurdles, 4*100 Relay, 4*400 Relay, Long Jump, Shot Put, Discuss Throw (ii). Women - 100 M, 200 M, 400 M, 800 M, 4*100 Relay, Long Jump, Shot Put, Discuss Throw 4. In situation of any foul in running events, only the athlete will be disqualified (in the first foul itself) not the whole event. Table tennis 1. The table tennis competition will consist of four events: men s team, women s team, mixed doubles, singles ( for men s and women s). 2. A maximum of four and three players can register for men s and women s team respectively. A
mixed doubles team will consist of a girl and a boy. 3. Each team match consists of five individual matches. Each individual match shall be the best of five games. 4. Before the start of the match, the team that won the toss shall choose to be either the ABC or XYZ team. The captain shall nominate the players who will play single matches. The remaining matches(if necessary) will be set in a way to ensure that each player plays a maximum of two matches. 5. After choosing ABC or XYZ team, the captain shall nominate players in ABC or XYZ positions. Chess 1. In boys category each team will consist of 3 active players and 1 reserved player (The reserved player will play in case of emergency.) 2. The game will be played according to the basic international rules of chess (FIDE LAWS of CHESS Article no. 1-5). 3. Castling o Castling is prevented temporarily: o If the square on which the king stands, or the square which it must cross, or the square which it is to occupy, is attacked by one or more of the opponent's pieces, or o If there is any piece between the king and the rook with which castling is to be effected. 4. The maximum time for each game will be 3 hours. 5. In boys category each team will be qualified or eliminated on the bases of total no of points gained. 6. In girls category each individual will play the game and the winners will qualify for the next round. Badminton 1. All players should come in proper kits (shorts, t-shirts, non marking shoes) 2. Format of the match is: MEN: i) 1st singles ii) 1st doubles iii) 2nd singles WOMEN: i) 1st singles ii) 1st doubles iii) 2nd singles 3. There will be 3 games (best of 3) of 21 points each in every individual match. 4. There should be a maximum of 4 players in a men s team and a maximum of 3 players in a women s team. 5. A player can play a maximum of two matches, i.e. 1 singles and 1 doubles. 6. Teams should report 15 minutes before their scheduled matches else the team opposition will be declared winner by walkover. 7. All the rules and standards apart from above mentioned are according to The World Badminton Federation's rule book (BWF HANDBOOK II (LAWS OF BADMINTON REGULATIONS) 2010/2011.
Volleyball For boys and girls: 1. A minimum of 6 members and maximum of 10 members are allowed in a team with libero if required; rotation will be followed. 2. All players should come in proper kits (shorts, t-shirts). 3. There will be knock out series with best of five ( 4 set of 25 points each set and final set of 15 points). 4. Teams should report 15 minutes before their scheduled matches else the Opposition team will be declared winner by walkover. 5. Any kind of interference/misconduct during the conduction of the game will lead to disqualification of the team. 6. All the rules and standards to be followed, apart from above mentioned are according to FIVB (Federation Internationale de Volleyball). Basketball 1. The maximum team limit is 12 players and a coach/manager. 2. Each team member shall wear a shirt numbered (4-15) on the front and back with plain numbers. 3. The game shall consist of four (4) periods of ten (10) minutes. 4. The teams shall reach the game venue 20 minutes before the game is scheduled to begin. 5. If the score is tied at the end of playing time for the fourth period, the game shall continue with as many extra periods of five (5) minutes as is necessary to break the tie. 6. Points for various goals: Free Throw-1 pt., field goal from 2 pt. field goal area-2 pts., field goal from 3 pt. field goal area-3 pts. Cricket 1. Maximum 16 players are allowed in a team. 2. Tournament will be played on standard ICC rules. 3. Tournament will be played on knock out format. 4. Tie in the game will be resolved by a super over.
5. Teams should report 15 minutes before the scheduled time. If the team is late by more than 10 minutes, the match would be forfeited to the opposition team. 6. Team has to complete its quota of overs in 1 hour 15 minutes. 7. Decisions of Umpires and Organizing committee shall be final and binding. 8. In case of rain, decision taken by the Umpire will be final and binding to all. In case of discrepancy in semi final or final, winner will be decided from the league stage points table. 9. In case of rain, schedule of matches can be changed by event coordinators. Football 1. Games will be played according to the usual rules laid down by FIFA. 2. Maximum number of players allowed per team = 16 (11 playing + 5 extras). 3. Game time : 80 minutes game (35 minutes half, 10 minutes recess). 4. All matches will be knockout, no group stage. 5. Every team should be present at least 20 min before the scheduled starting time of the match, failing which a walkover will be given to the opposing team. 6. In case of a draw match, winner will be decided by penalty shootout (no extra time). 7. In case of any confusion, the decisions of the tournament judges and organizing committee will be final.
