And a Happy New Year! 6th Nov 2013 Our gathering time focus for this fortnight will be measuring, in particular, weighing items to see which is heavy, light. Christmas Fair Clober Primary Christmas Fair is being held on Saturday 30th November at 11am. There will be lots of things for the children to do, and Santa will be receiving visitors too, so come along if you can! Primary 1 Visits All of the pre-school children have recently been invited to visit Primary 1 and they all enjoyed these sessions very much indeed. Many thanks to the Primary 1 staff who spend a lot of time organising these visits which make our children much more confident going to primary school. Children in Need On Friday 15th November we are holding a Toy Fayre and Baking Stall with all proceeds going towards the Children in Need Appeal. We d be grateful for any donations for the stall (baking donations on Thurs 14th or Fri 15th please). If you are able to help on the stall, at the beginning or end of your child s nursery session, please tell one of the staff. The children may dress in their pyjamas on Friday 15th November for a donation of 50p, again all money collected will go to Children in Need.
St Andrew s Day Dress your child in something tartan and/or bring something tartan for our special table on St Andrew s day - Friday 29th November. We will be having oatcakes and cheese, shortbread and juice followed by a ceilidh! Visual Screening Reminder 21st and 22nd November If we do not receive a form from you, we will assume your child has permission to be screened. For those children who are unable to attend on those dates, another date will be arranged to be confirmed. Nativity It will soon be time to cast the main characters for the nativity play, please let staff know if your child will not be taking part in the performance on Friday 6th December. Please note that Pre-school Children who attend in the afternoon will take part in the Nativity at 10am - parents, grandparents and friends are all welcome. We hope you will join us for tea and mince pies after the performance. Christmas Parties The children s Christmas parties will be held on Wednesday 18th December. If you wish to see your child receive his/her present, Santa will be arriving at 11.30am to visit the morning children and again at 2.30pm to visit the afternoon children. Due to lack of space and the number of children who attend am and pm sessions we can only accommodate 1 visitor per child in the Caterpillar Room. Nursery Social Night All meals for the social night must be ordered and paid for by Thursday, 7th November. Please keep donations for the raffle coming. It is shining brightly over Bethlehem. Nursery Visitors There is a Nursery Visitor sheet beside the Ladybird Room door ( on the window). Please sign your name by the session you d like to come in. It s a good opportunity to see what your child does at nursery to see that playing involves lots of learning too! Key Worker Meetings We would like to thank so many of you for taking the time to come to the Key Worker Meetings, the children love to share their work with you. Photographer On Monday, 18th November Tempest photographers will be taking individual photos of both the morning and afternoon children. At the beginning of the nursery sessions there will be the opportunity to have younger siblings photographed with your child. Unfortunately due to the number of children we are unable to take individual photos of siblings. If your child has an older sibling at Clober Primary and you would like your children photographed together, please let your child s key worker know the name and class of your child s sibling/s. Treat/Snack Fund This is an expensive time of year in the nursery. We have two Christmas parties, presents from Santa as well as a puppet show in the New Year to finance. Therefore we would request that any parents in arrears with their Treat/Snack Fund contributions please visit the school office regarding payment. Your co-operation in this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
