To access your FVCC email via a web browser: Go to https://mail proxy.fvcc.edu/owa Follow the onscreen instructions. Some things to note: * The above address works off campus on campus you would use https://exchange3.fvcc.edu/owa. * As with any other passworded/secured web site, be *very* careful about accessing the mail server on computers you don't control (e.g. in a library, Internet Cafe, etc.). Too often for comfort such computers have keyloggers or other malware installed to track your activity and/or login ID and password. * We recommend using a mail client (Outlook/Thunderbird/Pegasus/etc.)instead of the web interface unless you have no choice. * On smartphones, the last point applies even more strongly; the web interface works, but it is a royal pain to use on a tiny screen. The built in mail client (or a 3rd party mail client) will work far, far better. WARNING: If you are already using calendar/contacts/email on your handheld, please back up the data *before* adding an FVCC account it is possible to mess up existing data when you add another account to the mix. IMAP: If your device supports Exchange accounts, this will give you the tightest integration between your handheld and your email/calendars/contacts in your FVCC mail account. However, it also allows the server to enforce some security choices, up to and including forcing a factory reset in the event your phone is stolen or lost. IMAP is a more widely supported protocol; older phones or other devices that don't support native Exchange accounts will likely support IMAP. IMAP is focused on email folders; support for calendar and contact synchronization varies from device to device.
