Charge the Power Pack: From the Solar Panel: Set the Solar Panel in sunlight. If the BLUE LED lights up, there is usually enough available sunlight to charge the Power Pack. Keep the panel in the sunlight and connect the yellow tipped cable from the panel to the IN PORT. The Blue LED will go out and the Red LED IN will light while the pack is charging. From the Solar Panel, with maximum sun, it will re-charge in approximately 12 hours. The Blue LED on the Solar Panel lights only when the Solar Panel is NOT connected to the Power Pack. The Power Pack can charge and discharge at the same time. This is especially useful when charging from the sun. From a computer USB: Attach the yellow tipped cable to the Male USB connector and that connector to a USB port on the computer. Connect the other end of the cable to the IN PORT on the Power pack. The Red LED IN will light while the pack is charging. From the computer USB, the Power Pack will re-charge from exhausted to full in about 3 hours.
Charge Personal Electronics and Batteries from the Power Pack: Personal Electronics [ phone, GPS, MP3 player ]: Attach the chrome tipped cable to the appropriate connector and plug the connector into the device. Plug the other end of the cable into the OUT PORT. The Red LED OUT will light while the device charges. Batteries: Load two rechargeable NiCd or NiMH batteries into the appropriate battery box. Always charge batteries in pairs of the same size, type and brand. Plug the box cable into the OUT PORT. The Red LED OUT will light while the batteries charge. Any rechargeable AA or AAA battery with a nominal voltage up to 1.5 V can be charged. Estimated Charge Times: From the Power Pack, most personal electronics will re-charge in: MP3 = 2.5 to 3 hours, Cell phone = 3.5 to 4 hours and Smart phone = 5 hours.
