Iron Chef: Fantasy Kitchen Players start by creating Nobles and Chefs. Each player also receives 1 notecard, 3 ingredients, and 5 dice to start out with. - Each Noble should have 2 tastes, a kingdom, and a silly name. Tastes each come with a number of positives and negatives. Write these down on one side of a notecard. Kingdoms are descriptions of the foreign land that your Noble and Chef are from. (Unusual accents, ahoy!) A silly name is something only you can decide. Godspeed, Lord Gupplesnout. - Each Chef needs a silly name, and secret school of cooking (think kungfu-chef-styles). Write these down on the other side of the notecard you used for your Noble. Play proceeds in 3 rounds, the Appetizer, the Main Course, and the Dessert. During each round chefs must assemble meals using as many or as few tags as they want, use their staff to sabotage other chefs, and generally get under each other s feet. 1) An ingredient is chosen as a mandatory ingredient for the round. 2) Each Chef rolls all 5 dice, and assigns them into 3 piles; Pantry, Sabotage, and Wait-staff. a. Each Pantry dice is used to draft ingredients, with the highest rolling dice getting to choose first once all dice have been assigned to a pile, with ties being decided by a roll-off. These ingredients are drawn randomly from the ingredient deck, with one being drawn per dice assigned to the pantry. Players may keep these ingredients and add them to dishes during presentation b. Dice assigned to Sabotage mess with other Chefs. At the beginning of Sabotage choose a player. If your Sabotage total is higher than their Waitstaff total you may do one of the following; obtain one taste of that player s noble, add or remove one ingredient to that Chef s meal, or steal an ingredient from that Chef. c. Waitstaff defend against Sabotage attempts. You cannot be the target of any sabotage if your waitstaff total is higher than the saboteur s sabotage total. 3) Chef s then assemble their meals, combining ingredients face down and placing one dice on each ingredient card, including one for the mandatory ingredient for the round.
4) Players flip to their nobles, and take turns presenting their meals to the other nobles. Each meal is then sampled by the nobles. For each + preference that matches an ingredient tag, the presenting chef gains a dice. For each preference that matches an ingredient tag, the presenting chef loses a dice. 5) Nobles now vote by deciding on a number, up to a maximum of the number of dice on ingredient cards. 0 is a valid vote. At the end of a short countdown by the chef, all nobles reveal their votes by holding up fingers. Nobles take as many dice off the ingredient cards as they voted, with the noble to the presenting chef s left getting their dice first. The presenting chef gains a total number of points equal to the sum of all votes. Once all 3 rounds have passed, points are totaled and the player with the most points wins, with the player with the most ingredients in hand winning in the case of a tie. Dice in your staff pool are worth 1 point for each 2 dice.
