Trance what is it and techniques to induce it The first lesson is about understanding trance and then learning a special technique to induce someone into trance. http:///trancestates.php We go in and out of trances everyday without even realising it and the reason for this is the Milton Erickson hypnosis theory; When our subconscious minds are focused on something whether it be something strange, uncommon, exciting or even trivial and there is nothing else on our minds then we are in a state of trance. You can usually spot this on public transport when people are sitting on the train/bus/tram and they have an expressionless look on the face. They are not sleeping but they are as close to it as possible without actually going into unconsciousness. This is the moment when our subconscious is open to indirect suggestion and it is a very powerful state to get someone in. How to get someone into trance? This will be one of the most important techniques you will learn and I highly recommend you watch the video tutorial for this technique but I will tell you what it is also. I personally like to use the Dream Trance, which is where I get someone talking about what his/her dream/passion is. The key is not to have them mention it and then change the subject but to really get them explaining every single detail about their dream and why they dream about it and why it makes them so happy. What you are doing here is getting their mind to focus on what makes them the happiest in their life and in this way their subconscious will be focusing on this dream because the reaction to it is the most positive thing that can happen to them. Now their subconscious is focused on one thing and it is up to you to take note of what words they associate with their dream, the change in body language when they get excited and notice when they pause to think of a particular moment in their dream. These are very important in the next step of trance and influence, which I will be covering, in the next chapter.

Power Words - deepen the trance Power words are the key to keeping someone in trance and deepening the trance so that your subject s mind is very open to suggestion and influence. http:///wordand-phrase-trance-techniques.php Have you been practicing putting people into a Dream trance? If you have then you will start to notice the words and phrases that they use when talking about their dream, which words are associated with happiness and which words are associated with depression. These are your power words and they are very important because they are what your subject has programmed into their subconscious to be related with the best thing they could imagine in their life: their dream. The key is being able to use these words when talking to your subject in order to get them talking about their dream and then when they are in trance and talking about their dream use these words and phrases to help deepen the trance. I like to incorporate these power words into verbal nods (watch video for explanation) to help deepen trance and get my subject really excited and focused on their dream. Time to implant suggestion So now that you have got your subject into trance it is time to start implanting suggestion in their subconscious and it is all about using these power words. The best technique is to come up with an analogy or story that relates to their dream and at the same time indirectly suggests if they do something it will eventually lead to their dream (watch video for example). This technique will take a little time to master because you need to understand your subjects dream and then come up with an analogy that indirectly relates with it and your suggestion as a solution also. After practice you will start to notice that most people use the same power words and that a few of your analogies and stories can be related to almost anything, well tweaked enough to be related to almost anything. So the next step is to try and put someone into trance and start to work out what story would be the best for you when it comes to putting in your indirect suggestion. Remember we are individuals so usually if you can draw of your past experiences and stories you will be much more confident in delivering it. Now go out and practice!

This is lots of fun and will build your confidence immensely. http://www.hypnotizesomeone.co.uk/hypnotize-a-stranger.php I have found that taking a big step forward in confidence is very important so lets now attempt to hypnotize a stranger, whether you succeed or fail in the first attempt it does not matter, you are actively practicing your techniques outside of the comfort zone and in this way broadening your comfort zone. So everyone has been programmed to expect the same greeting from strangers since we are young. People s guards are up when a stranger approaches them and they are getting ready for the standard greeting. The idea here is to use confusion tactics so that we give their subconscious a surprise and in this way put it in a state of snapping out of autopilot and having to process information. Once we have put someone s mind in a state of having to process information it is important to provide commands to help it process the information and in this way begin to link your commands with solutions. Watch the video for my confusion technique that puts a stranger almost immediately into trance. Use your analogies and give your subject a final command that is the logical solution to their situation. You will see in the video what I mean but I will briefly recap here where as we have previously learned be aware of your subject and when they get excited about something. Be sure to use your analogies and stories to put hints/suggestions towards your goal and to deepen trance. Work on how you can relate your final command to link with what they love and confirm that this is the logical solution to their current situation. Now go and practice and BE CONFIDENT!

Hypnotic language is something you need to practice and refine. http://www.hypnotizesomeone.co.uk/hypnotic-language.php It is easy to get excited when you get some results and want to take the next big step but we must remember that it is our basics that provide the solid base that allows the big steps to happen. Without our basics being perfect you will reach a certain point where you cannot progress any further so lets work on them now. Tone and intonation Since we were little our mind has been programmed to react to tone and intonation, let me give you an example. When your parents were angry with you they would tell you have been naughty and that you need a time out. Their tone would be low and harsh and whenever they were angry your subconscious would pick up the tone in their voice and you would know there was no choice in the matter, you were in trouble. However when you were good your parents would probably ask you if you wanted ice cream, their tone would be higher and they would be asking you a question where you had a choice. Hypnotic language uses these principles because it is important to note that you need to be giving commands not asking questions when planting suggestion into someone s subconscious. So when you speak make sure you keep your tone low (not harsh) to give your analogy or command the right trigger for their subconscious to interpret it as a command with out choice. Well now I am going to show you how you can use all the techniques that I have taught you to be able to hypnotize someone in a matter of seconds. The most important thing to remember when tyring this technique is CONFIDENCE; this will get you far. The idea is to approach someone and use a phrase that makes almost no sense to them but to deliver it as though it is a common everyday thing. This is the confusion technique I previously spoke about where you are forcing the person s mind to process information but it cannot do it straight away. Once you have delivered your phrase do it again and then put a command across to them with complete confidence so that their mind has no choice but to process this command as the action it needs to take to process the information correctly. The best thing you can do is watch the video tutorial and then go out there and try it yourself. TIP: I believe that body contact like a hand on the shoulder or on the top of the hand helps incredibly. This creates a literal connection between you and the other person that the mind can process as a connection. Make sure it is not invasive touch! Just something comforting.

Igor has used this in sales context because this is when someone has their biggest barriers up simply because we have been conditioned not to trust sales people and therefore our minds process information in a defensive way. The idea is to change this processing into a positive by bringing up a positive emotion in someone and linking it indirectly to what you are trying to get them to buy or do. My technique to break thought patterns My technique on complete strangers is to go to something that anyone can relate to and that is comparing them to someone famous. If they are male you can usually go with sporting stars, if female Oprah is a good one and use the phrase that history does not remember people who followed the crowd. This is like a slap in their face saying that they are not a great person but immediately follow it up by saying that anyone can be like them, anyone at all. Be sure to keep your eye s locked on them when you say this because this creates the reaction of their mind processing their ability to become like their idol. Now you have created an emotional reaction and they are looking for answers on how they can become like their idol, time for you to use analogies and slip in suggestion for them to follow your commands so that they can be likened to their idol.
