Prayers to the Sacred Heart Litany of the Sacred Heart Lord, have mercy on us. Christ, have mercy on us. Christ, hear us. Christ, graciously hear us. God, the Father of Heaven, have mercy on us. God the Son, Redeemer of the world, have God the Holy Spirit, have Holy Trinity, one God, have Heart of Jesus, Son of the Eternal Father, have Heart of Jesus, formed by the Holy Spirit in the Virgin Mother's womb, have

Heart of Jesus, united to the Word of God, have Heart of Jesus, of infinite majesty, have Heart of Jesus, holy temple of God, have Heart of Jesus, tabernacle of the Most High, have Heart of Jesus, house of God and gate of heaven, have Heart of Jesus, glowing furnace of charity, have Heart of Jesus, vessel of justice and love, have Heart of Jesus, full of goodness and love, have Heart of Jesus, abyss of all virtues, have Heart of Jesus, most worthy of all praise, have Heart of Jesus, King and centre of all hearts, have Heart of Jesus, full of wisdom and knowledge, have Heart of Jesus, where dwells the fullness of God, have Heart of Jesus, in Whom the Father is well pleased, have Heart of Jesus, in Whose fullness we have all received, have Heart of Jesus, desire of the everlasting hills, have Heart of Jesus, patient and rich in mercy, have Heart of Jesus, fount of life and holiness, have Heart of Jesus, bruised for our sins, have Heart of Jesus, obedient unto death, have Heart of Jesus, pierced by a lance, have Heart of Jesus, source of all consolation, have Heart of Jesus, our life and resurrection, have Heart of Jesus, our peace and reconciliation, have Heart of Jesus, victim for our sins, have Heart of Jesus, salvation of those who hope in You, have

Heart of Jesus, hope of those who die in You, have Heart of Jesus, delight of all the saints, have Lamb of God, You take away the sins of the world, spare us, O Lord. Lamb of God, You take away the sins of the world, graciously hear us, O Lord. Lamb of God, You take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us. Jesus, meek and humble of heart, Make our hearts like unto Yours. Let us pray: Almighty and everlasting God, look upon the Heart of your beloved Son and upon the praise and satisfaction which he offers you in the name of sinners. In your goodness, grant all people pardon when they seek your mercy, in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you forever and ever. Amen. An Act of Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus By Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque I give myself and consecrate to the Sacred Heart of our Lord Jesus Christ, my person and my life, my actions, pains and sufferings, so that I may be unwilling to make use of any part of my being other than to honour, love and glorify the Sacred Heart. This is my unchanging purpose, namely, to be all his, and to do all things for the love of him, at the same time renouncing with all my heart whatever is displeasing to him. I therefore take you, O Sacred Heart, to be the only object of my love, the guardian of my life, my assurance of salvation, the remedy of my weakness and inconstancy, the atonement for all the faults of my life and my sure refuge at the hour of death. Be then, O Heart of Goodness, my justification before God the Father. O Heart of Love, I put all my confidence in you, for I fear everything from my own wickedness and frailty, but I hope for all things from your goodness and bounty. Remove from me all that can displease you or resist your holy will; let your pure love imprint your image so deeply upon my heart, that I shall never be able to forget you or to be separated from you. May I obtain from all your loving kindness the grace of having my name written in your heart, for in you I desire to place all my happiness and glory, living and dying in bondage to You. Amen.

Family Prayer to the Sacred Heart Sacred Heart of Jesus, we entrust our family to you. Look down upon us and reveal to us the treasures of love, goodness, and grace in your Heart. Forgive our sins and fortify our weakness, that we may serve you faithfully as you deserve. These favours we ask for ourselves and for every family in our neighbourhood and homeland. Heart of Jesus, pierced by a soldier's lance on Calvary, be our refuge in life and our gateway to Paradise. Amen. Prayer of Reparation to the Sacred Heart Lord Jesus, who loves us so much: we have not loved you as we easily might have, nor served you enough in our neighbour as we could have. We are truly sorry for this unfaithful love and promise to do better in the future. Because you accept everything that we do in God's grace, when done in a spirit of love and obedience, as reparation, we now offer you and your Heart our every thought, word, deed, and suffering in union with your own sufferings. Join our reparation to that which you ceaselessly offer to the Father in the Mass and in the silence of the tabernacle. Help us to suffer lovingly and to aid those who suffer. Make your redemptive love fruitful in the hearts of all those who will die today, so that all of us may love you forever in heaven. Amen. Prayer to the Sacred Heart for Priests Remember, O most loving Heart of Jesus, that they for whom I pray are those for whom you prayed so earnestly the night before your death. These are they to whom you look to continue with you in your sorrows when others forsake you, who share your grief and have inherited your persecutions, according to your word: That the servant is not greater than his Lord. Remember, O Heart of Jesus, that they are the objects of the world's hatred and Satan's deadliest snares. Keep them then, O Jesus, in the safe citadel of your Sacred Heart and there let them be sanctified in truth. May they be one with you and one among themselves, and grant that multitudes may be brought through their word to believe in you and love you. Amen. Consecration of the Human Race to the Sacred Heart Most sweet Jesus, Redeemer of the human race, look down upon us humbly prostrate before your altar. We are yours and yours we wish to be; but, to be more surely united with you, behold each one of us

freely consecrates himself today to your most Sacred Heart. Many indeed have never known you; many too, despising your precepts, have rejected you. Have mercy on them all, most merciful Jesus, and draw them to your Sacred Heart. You are King, O Lord, not only of the faithful who have never forsaken you, but also of the prodigal children who have abandoned you; grant that they may quickly return to their Father's house lest they die of wretchedness and hunger. You are King of those in error, call them back to the harbour of truth and unity of faith, so that soon there may be but one flock and one Shepherd. You are King of all refuse not to draw all into the light and kingdom of God. Grant, O Lord, to your Church assurance of freedom and immunity from harm; give peace and order to all nations, and make the earth resound from pole to pole with one cry: Praise to the Divine Heart that wrought our salvation; to you be glory and honour forever. Amen. Act of Reparation to the Sacred Heart Most loving Jesus, how great is the love which you have poured out upon the world. How casual and careless is our response! Here before you, we wish to atone for the indifference and the slights, which pierce you to the heart. We ask forgiveness for our own shameful neglect. We wish to make amends for those who are obstinate in their unbelief, for those who turn away from the light and wander like sheep without a shepherd; and for those who have broken their baptismal promises and reject the gentle yoke of your law. We wish to make amends for the sins of our society: for lust and degradation, for abortion and the corruption of the young, for indifference and blasphemy, for attacks against your Church, for irreverence and sacrilege against your love in the Blessed Sacrament and for the public defiance of your law. These are the sins for which you died, but now we share in your atonement by offering on the altar in union with you the living sacrifice you made on the cross, joining to it the sufferings of your Virgin Mother, and those of all the saints and the whole Church.

We promise faithfully that by your grace we shall make reparation for our own sins and for those of others by a strong faith, by holy living, and by obedience to the law of the Gospel, whose greatest commandment is that of true love. We also promise to do our best to discourage others from insulting you and bring those we can to follow you. Lord Jesus receive this act of homage together with the prayers of Our Lady, who stood by the cross, our model in reparation. Keep us faithful, even to the point of death, give us the gift of perseverance and lead us all to our promised land in heaven, where you, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, live and reign for ever and ever. Amen.
