Introduction to the PMA Self- help technique How do you do an effective PMA session on yourself? What do you have to do and what do you have to avoid? Progressive Mental Alignment (PMA) makes use of the natural processes of the brain. If we experience difficulties in continuing our sessions, or get blocked, it's usually because we are interfering with the natural processes of the brain and not precisely following its "language" rules. When you perform a PMA self- help session you don't consciously select where you will go or what type of memory has to pop up. You have to give your subconscious carte blanche. It can come up with what ever it wants, without any limitation. Don't actively look for pictures, let them come to you spontaneously. You do not have to control or guide your brain to fulfill its subconscious processes. It works automatically, based on a simple rule of stimulus/response. Bad Clusters, your hidden inhibiting factor If you consciously steer towards another picture that you rationally conclude is related to the previous one, then your conscious brain is in charge. You are consciously determining the direction and your brain will go by thinking and reasoning. If that really worked, you would have discovered the contents of your inhibiting factors (called Bad Clusters) a long time ago. However, Bad Clusters are hidden in our subconscious and normally unapproachable for the conscious brain that reasons and concludes. Therefore, you cannot consciously 'search' or determine the direction. Just focus on the most powerful detail in the mental picture that popped up and on the feelings that accompany it. Now just wait until your subconscious delivers the next picture SPONTANEOUSLY. This will usually come from an unexpected direction. This way you will follow the way of operating and the language rules of the subconscious and the right way of doing a PMA session. Starting point How to find the starting point to begin your session? First, select one of the 17 statements from your JoyList for which you have assigned yourself a lower number. Now ask yourself: Why is this number not a 10? What happened in my life that let me believe this is not a 10? Go to the very first event that spontaneously pops up. How do we progress from there? Once you found this 'starting' event, find the most intense moment, and in that moment, the most intense detail by reliving that event in your mind. The most intense moment is always a negative emotion, a moment you felt anger, depression, irritation, fear, disappointment, rejection, etc. It won't be your rational reasoning brain, but the feelings in your body, that will tell you the correct moment and detail. It's important not to pay attention to your reasoning, but to pay focus on your body in how it responds to the reliving. In short, you only have to pay attention to two things: 1. The most dominant detail (after you found it) 2. The feelings in your body

Do's and don ts in your sessions From this point on you have to let your subconscious do the work and let your brain do what it automatically does, without conscious interference. To put it as simple as possible: after you found the detail, and the feelings are there, you do... NOTHING. You just focus on the most dominant detail and allow the feelings to come without fighting them. From this point on, what will your brain automatically do? It will process only the last incoming data (detail and feelings) and activate similar data form your subconscious as comparison material. If we allow the brain to do this without conscious interference, it will immediately deliver new pictures. What do we do after another memory pops up? We do the same thing: relive the picture, that event that popped up. Be there and become aware of every detail. Now look and find the most intense moment in that picture, and then the detail that intensifies your feelings the most. Focus on that detail again and allow and feel the physical symptoms in your body. Let your subconscious brain do its work without conscious interference. To avoid disturbing the process during a session with your own thoughts, it is very important to realize to always: Reliving means that you: Relive See - Feel - Hear - Taste - Smell You have to be at the same location again with all of your senses. Really become one with the picture and really be there again. Reliving is not the same as just remembering an event. Remembering is not enough. You have to be there again, but this time, only in your mind while your body is now in a safe place. Keep in mind that all the data of a Bad Cluster is stored in your subconscious brain. It cannot be retrieved by your conscious mind. No matter how hard you try, you cannot consciously reason the content of a Bad Cluster to come up. So, the answer will not be found in your conscious brain. You can only find it in the subconscious. After you have found it and delivered it to the level of your consciousness, the subconscious brain will immediately process it in the right way and assign the proper relative value codes (For further explanations see: "Desirable Power" by Jacob Korthuis). The Bad Cluster immediately changes into a correct encoded Cluster. In order to achieve fast results, the conscious mind will just have to watch and experience without any interruption. Therefore, during a PMA session you: do not think do not reason do not argue do not summarize do not describe why do not control the direction

do not ask questions do not think what else you could do All these things are tasks of the conscious brain. The conscious will block you as soon as it gets involved. (To know why, please read the book "Desirable Power") During a PMA self- help session you don't interfere or direct. You just enjoy the ride and allow your subconscious to come up with whatever it wants to come up with, including all the emotions (physiology) attached to it. The language rules to communicate with your subconscious As we discussed before, you have to follow the rules of the language of the subconscious. Taking all these rules into consideration leads you to the following basic effective technique: 1. Always start with a concrete event, an event when you felt unwell, upset, rejected, angry, irritated, etc. 2. Find the most powerful moment in that event, a moment that you feel the negative feelings intensify. 3. Find the most powerful detail in that moment that catches your attention immediately. It doesn't matter what it is. Your body will tell you the correct detail. 4. Now just focus on the detail and feel the response of your body. What do you feel? Allow this feeling completely. 5. Wait until a new event (mental picture) spontaneously pops up. 6. After a mental picture - the next event - pops up spontaneously, you will again follow the same procedure: Event - Moment Detail, followed by LOOKING and FEELING The following example will exactly show what we mean with these five steps: Example: 1. I was driving to the store when I realized I had forgotten my wallet. I got very irritated and decided to go home I got onto a dead- end road, turned the car, got back to the intersection and waited until I could get back on the road again. (Event). 2. But the heavy traffic wouldn't let me merge in and my irritation got worse (Moment). 3. I looked across the street and saw a man walking his dog. I looked at his facial expression (Detail). He seemed very arrogant, like the world revolved around him. 4. I realize now that my irritation expressed itself by tension on my chest, heart palpitations and a nauseous feeling in my stomach (The kind of feeling, and the location of the feeling in the body).

5. Next spontaneous picture: I'm in a fight at school, and the boy that's taunting me is at least 9 inches taller than I am. He knows he's stronger than me. He's looking at me in an arrogant way (Similarity with the detail). Keep repeating this process with your personal pictures until you reach the content of the Bad Cluster. How do you know when you've reached that point? Your body will tell you. Just seconds before you reach the Bad Cluster, the negative physiology will intensify significantly. Then the Bad Cluster content will reveal itself to the conscious brain. In the following seconds, the negative physiology will disappear completely. The content of that eliminated Bad Cluster will never bother your physiology again. It is gone forever. (To know why, please read the book "Desirable Power") Instead of that, you feel a tremendous relief, and after some hours, you'll feel a large increase of energy. As soon as you activate a Bad Cluster, you will feel its negative physiology. Keep in mind, it is never the PMA session that activated the Bad Cluster. It was already activated before the session. That was the reason that its contents revealed itself during the session. In almost all cases the Bad Cluster was activated numerous times before and created negative feelings that controlled your behavior. After discovering the related Bad Cluster(s) you will experience more energy. But what about the low number in your PMA JoyList that you used as your starting point for the PMA session? You will experience that your opinion and feelings about this specific statement will spontaneously change into a higher number. This will effect your future decisions and actions in a positive way. You'll notice this version of the PMA self- help technique is just a condensed version of the many possibilities and tools of the Progressive Mental Alignment technique. Nevertheless, if you follow the instructions carefully you will achieve amazing results. We're certain this will convince you of the power of PMA. To be able to understand all the extra tools and scientific backgrounds of PMA we invite you to read the book "Desirable Power" - by Jacob Korthuis. It's one of the textbooks for those who want to master the PMA technique. If you're more interested in how PMA can help you increase your financial status and become more successful in business, you'll definitely want to read "The Happy Millionaire" - by Jacob Korthuis. If you're a manager or a sales representative and you want to know the practical application of PMA in the corporate world, then you need to read "Mind- blowing Management" - by Jacob Korthuis.
