Safety Rules & Information for FW-S500 & FW-S600 To ensure safe installation and operation, please carefully read and understand the following statements. Unless the operator is adequately trained and supervised there is a possibility of injury. Owners of this equipment are responsible to make certain that this equipment is used properly and safely, and that all of the instructions contained in this manual are followed. Adherence to the requirements of local, state or federal law is required. Owners should not permit anyone to use this equipment unless they are over 18 years old, adequately trained, supervised, and have read and understood this manual. Owners should also ensure that no customers, visitors or other unauthorized personnel come in contact with this equipment. It is the responsibility of the owner and the operator to remain alert to any hazards posed by the function of this equipment. If an operator is ever uncertain about a particular task or the proper method of using this equipment, they should ask an experienced supervisor. Introduction Function and Purpose This unit is intended to be used in commercial food-service operations only. It is not intended for household, industrial or laboratory use. Before using this equipment all surfaces should be cleaned and dried thoroughly (see "Cleaning" section on page 4). Failure to clean surfaces before using the unit could cause food contamination. Warning Please remember that this manual and the warning labels do not replace the need to be alert, to properly train and supervise operators, and to use common sense when using this equipment. Electrical Requirements Make sure to plug unit into a grounded outlet that has the correct voltage and required minimum amperage capacity. Refer to the product identification label found on the unit for voltage, wattage, and amperage ratings. 1. Make sure to read all of the instructions before using the unit. 2. When using any electrical appliance, it is important to always follow basic precautions to reduce the risk of electric shock, fire, and injury. 3. Always clean the unit thoroughly before and after use (see "Cleaning" insctructions on page 4). Unpacking the Equipment Save the original box and packaging for use in packaging and shipping the equipment if services are needed. 1. Remove all packing materials and tape, as well as any protective plastic and cardboard, from the unit. 2. Clean any glue residue left over from the plastic or tape. 3. Place the unit in the desired position and height. Proper Grounding This machine is provided with a three-pronged grounding plug. The outlet to which this plug is connected must be properly grounded. If the receptacle is not the proper grounding type, contact an electrician. DO NOT, under any circumstances, cut or remove the third ground prong from the power cord or use any adapter plug. Set unit on a flat and stable non-combustible surface that is near the power source. 2. Pour 1 to 1.5 inches of water into the unit well pan. DO NOT exceed 1.5 inches. DO NOT operate without water in the well pan. Use of the unit without water will cause metal fatigue and excess wear on metal components, resulting in rendering the unit non-operable. Use care when handling hot water and steam. 3. If the unit fails to work properly during initial use, please notify customer service at: returns@wincous.com OPERATION 1. Plug cord into properly grounded outlet with the correct voltage and power requirement. Electrical shock may occur if appliance is not grounded properly. 2. Preheat the water in the well pan. Faster preheat can be achieved by covering the water well pan with an empty full size food pan or a full size food pan cover. Place stainless steel or high heat poly pans (inset pans) into the unit well pan. If using the appliance as a warmer (FW-S500 or FW-S600), the contents placed in the food pans should be previously cooked as the purpose of the warmer is to hold contents at the proper desired temperature. If the appliance is being used as a cooker (FW-S600 only), frozen foods such as soups, chili or vegetables can be brought to safe serving temperature (min 140 F) in less than 40 minutes, using the maximum heat setting. Place frozen foods into the recommended inset pan(s) and follow the preparation instructions that accompany the frozen food product. 4. Never place foods directly into the well pan. The well pan is for water only. Foods must always be placed into the inset pans. 5. Inset pans must be covered to maintain temperatures while food is not being served. 6. For the function of hot food holding, set the heat control to the desired setting. Monitor temperature regularly to ensure food safety. 7. During normal operation for food warming and holding, periodically check the water level. Add hot water when necessary and stir food occasionally. WINCO / DWL Industries Co. 3

Let cool before cleaning. NOTE Cleaning the unit daily will increase the operational life span of this appliance. Also, regular cleaning will enhance the performance of this appliance. 1. ALWAYS unplug the power cord and allow unit to cool down prior to cleaning. 2. Carefully empty the remaining hot water in the well pan. 3. Wipe the inside of the emptied well pan with a clean damp cloth. 4. NEVER immerse the cooker/warmer in water or other liquid when cleaning. 5. DO NOT use a water jet to clean the cooker/warmer. 6. If soap or chemical cleaners are used, make sure they are rinsed away thoroughly with clean water immediately after cleansing. NOTE Chlorinated chemical residue could damage the unit by degrading the stainless steel surfaces. 7. To remove calcified scale buildup use 1 teaspoon of white vinegar to 1 cup of water. Pour enough into the well pan to cover the bottom. Let this stand for about 30 minutes. Rinse out and repeat if necessary. Limited Equipment Warranty WINCO commercial appliances are warranted when installed in accordance with instructions in this manual and subjected to normal use. WINCO commercial appliances are warranted only to the first purchaser from the dealer/distributor. WINCO equipment(parts and labor) are warranted for a period of one(1)year from the date of purchase, provided that the product warranty registration has been received by WINCO within 30 days from the date of purchase. Examples of circumstances NOT covered under WINCO s warranty, but not limited to these circumstances are: Acts of God, fire, water damage, burglary, accident, theft. Freight damage. Improper alteration or installation of equipment. Use of after market or generic parts. Services made by anyone other than an authorized service agent. Unauthorized lubricants. Normal wear of parts, including feet, fuses, switches, lamps, etc. Improper cleaning or use of improper cleaning agents on appliance Misuse or abuse (this includes but is not limited to dropping the unit or any of it's components. Procedure To Submit A Warranty Claim Warranty may not be honored if warranty registration has not been previously submitted to WINCO within 30 days of purchase. Attempts to service appliance by unauthorized personnel may void the warranty. 1. Warranty registration must have been received within 30 days from the date of purchase. 2. Return Authorization must be issued from WINCO customer service. For warranty service 3. You will be asked to provide item #, date of purchase, receipt of purchase, company/dealer item was purchased from and a detailed description of the issue you are having. 4. The customer service rep will determine the best course of action. If it is determined item needs to be returned, a return authorization will be issued. You will be given complete details on how to complete the return process. 5. If item is to be returned to WINCO, it must be packaged in its original carton. This ensures there will be no freight damage of item coming back to WINCO. Freight damage will not be covered by the warranty. NOTE: Freight to our repair centers must be prepaid. We strongly recommend that you SAVE THE ORIGINAL PACKAGING for the duration of this warranty. WINCO will not be responsible for any claims for damages that may occur during inbound transportation to our service facility. Freight on return services or replacements will be prepaid by WINCO, the manufacturer. This warranty does not cover product failures caused by: improper maintenance as outlined in our operations manuals, neglect, abuse, damage due to excess water, fire, improper set up, or use of inadequate or faulty electrical systems. WINCO reserves the right to inspect returns and determine if product received shows any of the signs of misuse or abuse as listed above.
