Please see the Appendix for detailed methodology, market definition, and scoring criteria. IN THIS EXCERPT The content for this excerpt was taken directly from IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Big Data Consulting and Systems Integration Services 2016 Vendor Assessment (Doc #US41240916). All or parts of the following sections are included in this excerpt: IDC Opinion, IDC MarketScape Vendor Inclusion Criteria, Essential Guidance, Vendor Summary Profile, Appendix and Learn More. Also included is Figure 1. IDC OPINION This IDC study represents a vendor assessment of the 2016 Big Data consulting and systems integration (C&SI) services market through the IDC MarketScape model. This research is a quantitative and qualitative assessment of the characteristics that explain a vendor's success in the marketplace and help anticipate the vendor's ascendancy. This IDC MarketScape covers a variety of vendors participating in the worldwide Big Data C&SI services market. This evaluation is based on a comprehensive framework and set of parameters expected to be most conducive to success in providing Big Data C&SI services in both the short term and the long term. A significant component of this evaluation is the inclusion of the perception of Big Data C&SI services buyers of both the key characteristics and the capabilities of these providers. Buyers were surveyed across all three of IDC's macroregions. Key findings include: Based on the survey feedback from 86 customers of the evaluated vendors, the subcategories "cost management" and "innovation/r&d pace and productivity" received the highest aggregate scores. The lowest aggregate score for any subcategory was for "pricing model options and alignment." The analysis across all 12 strategies assessed by IDC in this IDC MarketScape reveals that vendors participating in the study tend to deploy the same strategies for various segments of their business analytics services practices including Big Data services. These strategies span across offerings/capabilities/sales strategies, go-to-market/alliance strategies, business growth/r&d strategies, and employee management strategies. Therefore, the participating vendors were rated similarly for both the business analytics C&SI services IDC MarketScape and the Big Data C&SI services IDC MarketScape on the strategy axis. Open source technology is quickly becoming a key technology of choice for buyers when it comes to creating Big Data solutions, particularly when it comes to handling unstructured data sources. IDC MARKETSCAPE VENDOR INCLUSION CRITERIA This research includes analysis of the 13 major Big Data C&SI services providers with broad portfolios spanning IDC's research coverage and with global scale. This assessment is designed to evaluate the characteristics of each firm as opposed to its size or the breadth of its services. The inclusion criteria dictate at least $300 million revenue coming from a vendor's business analytics C&SI services practice at a worldwide level as well as a minimum of 2,250 business analytics C&SI services associated global resources; furthermore, at least 10% of revenue and 10% of head count of a vendor's business analytics C&SI services as well as of a vendor's Big Data C&SI services need to be located in each 2016 IDC #US41240916e 2

macroregion. In addition, it is conceivable, and in fact the case, that specialty firms can compete with multidisciplinary firms on an equal footing. As such, this evaluation should not be considered a "final judgment" on the firms to consider for a particular project. An enterprise's specific objectives and requirements will play a significant role in determining which firms should be considered as potential candidates for an engagement. ESSENTIAL BUYER GUIDANCE Vendor selection. Use this IDC MarketScape in contract negotiations and as a tool to not only short-list vendors for Big Data C&SI services bids but also evaluate vendors' proposals and oral presentations. Make sure you understand where these players are truly differentiated and take advantage of their expertise, industry based or otherwise. Define business use case at project level. When taking on Big Data C&SI engagements, make sure to define business use case for the investment at the individual project level. IDC's Big Data and Analytics Survey shows that firms that were successful in consuming Big Data solutions focused on business use case development and cost benefits at individual project levels. Tap the power of unstructured data. Even though most of the data available is unstructured, businesses continue to mainly focus on structured data when it comes to running analytics. Big Data technologies such as Hadoop and Splunk provide the means to process and analyze unstructured data and therefore can help garner much large benefits from both internal and external data sources. VENDOR SUMMARY PROFILES This section briefly explains IDC's key observations resulting in a vendor's position in the IDC MarketScape. While every vendor is evaluated against each of the criteria outlined in the Appendix, the description in this section provides a summary of each vendor's strengths, challenges, and opportunities. IDC's assessment includes 13 vendors (in alphabetical order): Accenture, Atos, Capgemini, Cognizant, Deloitte, EY, HCL, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), IBM, Infosys, KPMG, PwC, and TCS. HCL According to IDC analysis and buyer perception, HCL is an IDC MarketScape Leader for Big Data C&SI services worldwide. HCL offers end-to-end business analytics services covering advisory, architect, implementation, govern, and support and delivers solutions for Big Data, EIM, business intelligence (BI), analytics, and EPM. HCL offers its Business Analytics portfolio with its Enterprise Intelligence Hub platform, which is aligned to HCL's 21st Century Enterprise corporate proposition and is a business outcome focused and benefits-driven approach. It delivers data ingestion and ETL optimization, data quality monitoring, and data security and privacy services to clients with its Enterprise Intelligence Hub platform, which is a comprehensive and innovative concept in the analytics space. Leveraging its business analytics innovation centers across multiple location globally, HCL delivers customer-specific IPs and proof of concepts and also leverages this infrastructure to develop tools and accelerators like its icfo finance transformation and analytics solution. HCL has strong partnerships with vendors like 2016 IDC #US41240916e 3

Informatica, Microsoft, and SAP in the analytics space and runs joint go-to-market (GTM) and coinnovation initiatives leveraging its partner ecosystem. Strengths Buyers rate HCL highly for helping achieve desired business outcomes, handling changes in project scope, and offering flexible pricing models to meet your needs for Big Data C&SI services. Challenges IDC believes HCL's marketing strategy could be enhanced by sponsoring more partner events. The company's cost management strategy could be enhanced by offering more ways to help clients justify the investment they are putting on analytics initiatives. Opportunities According to IDC's 2016 Big Data C&SI Services Buyer Perception Survey, HCL can further enhance its position in future related IDC MarketScape evaluations by improving its client perception in the following areas: Provide technical insight and competence related to Big Data technologies (e.g., SAP HANA, Hadoop MapReduce, MongoDB, and Apache Spark). Deliver innovation for customers' Big Data solution. Provide a full spectrum of Big Data services (app management, BPO services, etc.). APPENDIX Reading an IDC MarketScape Graph For the purposes of this analysis, IDC divided potential key measures for success into two primary categories: capabilities and strategies. Positioning on the y-axis reflects the vendor's current capabilities and menu of services and how well aligned the vendor is to customer needs. The capabilities category focuses on the capabilities of the company and product today, here and now. Under this category, IDC analysts will look at how well a vendor is building/delivering capabilities that enable it to execute its chosen strategy in the market. Positioning on the x-axis, or strategies axis, indicates how well the vendor's future strategy aligns with what customers will require in three to five years. The strategies category focuses on high-level decisions and underlying assumptions about offerings, customer segments, and business and go-tomarket plans for the next three to five years. The size of the individual vendor markers in the IDC MarketScape represents the market share of each individual vendor within the specific market segment being assessed. IDC MarketScape Methodology IDC MarketScape criteria selection, weightings, and vendor scores represent well-researched IDC judgment about the market and specific vendors. IDC analysts tailor the range of standard characteristics by which vendors are measured through structured discussions, surveys, and interviews with market leaders, participants, and end users. Market weightings are based on user interviews, buyer surveys, and the input of a review board of IDC experts in each market. IDC analysts 2016 IDC #US41240916e 4

base individual vendor scores, and ultimately vendor positions on the IDC MarketScape, on detailed surveys and interviews with the vendors, publicly available information, and end-user experiences in an effort to provide an accurate and consistent assessment of each vendor's characteristics, behavior, and capability.
