Read and React Offense. Position-less basketball.. Five Out (0), Four Out -One In (), and Three Out -Two In () configurations. Can stay completely in one configuration or flow freely between layers at coach s discretion.. 0 layers (6 foundational layers, 0 additional layers, and supplemental layers).. Provides five player coordination with constant movement.. Always have at least one player threatening the basket at all times. 6. Player with the ball is the primary decision maker, other fours players are reactors. 7. Only one right reaction for each action the primary decision maker (player with the ball) makes. 8. Cutters through the lane ( decision box ) are secondary decision makers in more advanced layers. 9. Not a quick hit offense, hunt until the defense breaks down, though quick hitters can be created. 0. Classic three player triangle offensive rebounding configuration is natural with a weak-side elbow chaser (if desired) and at least one player getting back. FOUNDATION LAYERS Read and React Offense Layers. Pass, Cut, and Fill after passing, the passer MUST make a basket cut; the only exception is layer 7 (Pin and Skip); it is not just a cut, it must be thought of as a legitimate scoring move, a real threat at that basket; the basket cut also pulls a player up toward the ball in a fill action and might drag his defender over the read line for a second (or third or more) basket cut scoring opportunity. # RR Layer Pass and Cut Movements # # # # # #6 # # # Start with the breakdown drills first before performing -on-0 shuffle the deck. Make rounded cut when filling up to either drag your defender over read line or have momentum in to your three point shot or attack move. Corner always cuts to the basket then fills back out to same corner. Wolfeboro Warriors ReDirect Offense System

RR Layer Pass and Cut (Front Cut Drill). Setup a group of three players as shown in diagram #. A second set of three can be going at the same time on the other side. If there are extra players put them at the spot at the top of the key as this will decrease time between repetitions. A coach or extra player can play defense on the second passer to force them to fake a pass to make a pass and break the glass to make a pass on the pass to the flash cutter. Having two groups going at the same basket simulates weak-side defense and puts focus on a good strong finish.. Player on the wing starts with the ball and initiates the action by passing to the player () at the top of the key. Player should call the name of the player () that he is passing to. All players should be in good (offensive and defensive) ready positions.. Immediately after passing the ball, player reads that his defender has not stepped over the read line and therefore front cutshis defender. Do not set up the cut, it is a race to the rim.. As soon as the pass is received by player he passes the ball back to player (front) cutting as fast as possible executinga give and go. Player should fake high and deliver a bounce pass to player on the heels of player s defender ().. Upon receiving the ball back player completes a strong layup in no or as few dribbles as possible, popping the ball with the offhand on the finish. 6. Finisher () gets his own rebound (putting back any misses) and passes to top of key player (). 7. Rotation is defender to wing, top of key stays, finisher to top of key on defense. Go for a few minutes (or less), then go again with the ball starting at the top of the key; switch sides and repeat. Top of key passing options: (a) Fake high, bounce pass, (b) Look away opposite, bounce pass, (c) one sprint dribble delivering one hand bounce pass; always have to break the glass to make a pass. Finishing options: (a) Strong layup with pop, (b) Two foot jump stop power layup, (c) b with shot fake then finish. # - Initial Configuration and Action - Rotations - Configuration After First Rotation Deliver ball before Cutter breaks free throw line Wolfeboro Warriors ReDirect Offense System

RR Layer Pass and Cut (Rear Cut Drill). Setup a group of three players as shown in diagram #. A second set of three can be going at the same time on the other side. If there are extra players put them at the spot at the top of the key as this will decrease time between repetitions. A coach or extra player can play defense on the second passer to force them to fake a pass to make a pass and break the glass to make a pass on the passto the backdoor cutter.. Player on the wing starts with the ball and initiates the action by passing to the player () at the top of the key. Player should call the name of the player () that he is passing to. All players should be in good (offensive and defensive) ready positions.. Immediately after passing the ball, player reads that his defender has (jumped to the ball) stepped over the read line and therefore rear cuts his defender. Do not set up the cut, it is a race to the rim.. As soon as the pass is received by player he passes the ball back to player (rear) cutting as fast as possible executing a give and go. Player should fake high and deliver a bounce pass to player on the heels of player s defender ().. Upon receiving the ball back player completes a strong layup in no or as few dribbles as possible, popping the ball with the finish. 6. RR Layer Read Line Drill. Setup a group of four players as shown in diagram #.. Player on the wing starts with the ball and initiates the action by passing to the player () at the top of the key. Player should call the name of the player () that he is passing to. All players should be in good (offensive and defensive) ready positions.. Immediately after passing the ball, player makes a complete basket cut and then fills to the corner. Always face the ball when filling out.. Player in the corner fills up to the wing, as he does his defender ( ) steps over the read line. Player reads this and immediately makes a rear basket cut.. Player also makes the read of stepping over the read line and delivers a bounce pass to player on the heels of player s defender ( ), faking high and then passing low while breaking the glass to do so. 6. Upon receiving the ball from player, player completes a strong layup in no or as few dribbles as possible, popping the ball with the offhand on the finish. 7. Defense ( ) goes to wing, finisher () gets his own rebound (putting back any misses), passes to wing ( ), and goes to the top of the key. Top of the key () goes to defense in the corner. Cutter who filled to the corner, stays in the corner on offense. 8. Go for a few minutes (or less), then go again passing to the corner instead of the top guy; switch sidesand repeat. Top of key passing options: (a) Fake high, bounce pass, (b) Look away opposite, bounce pass, (c) one sprint dribble delivering one hand bounce pass. # RR Layer -on-0 Shuffle The Deck Progressions # # # # # #6 # # #. Start passing to the left wing and go completely to the left corner then all the way back to the right corner back to thetop of the key.. Repeat # except start by passing to the right wing.. Repeat but passer can pass any direction they like.. Add a coach as a defender at permanent right wing, right wing player must make front or rear cut decision based on the coach s movement after the right wing passes.. Rotate coach through each of the other four spots and repeat #. 6. Same setup as # and # but the fill player reacts to whether the coach steps over the read line or not. 7. Same as #6, except coach steps over the read line - consecutive times. Wolfeboro Warriors ReDirect Offense System 9

RR Layer -on- Game. Set up -on-, -on-, or -on-.. Play -on- and -on- in five out positions, -on- in four out one in perimeter positions.. This is a half court only game.. Offense stays offense the whole time, likewise defense.. Play to a given score (ex. 0) or a set period of time (ex. - minutes), then switch roles. 6. Have a winner (offense or defense) after each game. 7. Offense gets two (or three points) for baskets or three points if fouled (coach or defense calls). 8. Defense gets one point for each deflection (play on) and two points for each steal. 9. Offense is not allowed to dribble except for one dribble for a better passing angle or to break the glass and one or two dribbles for a strong finish but the player must take a strong layup. 0. Check the ball up, then offense passes and cuts. Passers react to whether the defense jumps to the ball (rear cut) or does not (front cut).. When filling up, cutters rear cut if their defender goes over the read line. Wolfeboro Warriors ReDirect Offense System 0
