DATA SHEET 6000 WATT AC POWER SUPPLY FOR THE CISCO CATALYST 6500 SERIES CHASSIS PRODUCT OVERVIEW The 6000-watt (W) power supply for the Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series chassis (Figure 1) is a dual AC input power supply. When both inputs are at high line (220 VAC nominal voltage) then the output is 6000W. When both inputs are active but at least one is operating at low line (110 VAC nominal voltage), or a single input is active and running from a high line (220 VAC nominal voltage) source, the unit is capable of providing 2900W output power. (The power supply will not power up with 110V single input.) All Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series chassis hold up to two load-sharing, fault-tolerant, hot-swappable power supplies. Only one supply is required to operate a fully loaded chassis. If a second supply is installed, it operates in a load-sharing capacity. The power supplies are hot-swappable a failed power supply can be removed without powering off the system. Figure 1. Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series Chassis FEATURES AND BENEFITS The 6000W power supply offers the following features: Universal input (100 240 VAC, 50 60 Hz). Compatible with full output in Cisco Catalyst 6506-E, Catalyst 6509-E, and Catalyst 6513 switches. Works in Catalyst 6506 and Catalyst 6509 with a maximum output of 4000W. Redundant and hot swappable. All contents are Copyright 1992 2004 Cisco Systems, Inc. All rights reserved. Important Notices and Privacy Statement. Page 1 of 1
