Background After generation of an inventory of material in Distribution Center, some items were found to be surplus, obsolete and of no further use to the District. It is the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools that such items de declared surplus and sold in accordance with Education Code Sections 17545 and 17546, respectively. Recommendation Fiscal Impact Attachments Approval by the Board of Education of Resolution No. 1415-0036 Authorization to Declare Obsolete Multi-functional Copiers Surplus Property and Authorizing Sale as stated herein. Sale of the items listed in Exhibit "A" will reduce the cost associated with storing of obsolete and outdated materials and provide financial returns on items that would otherwise generated disposable expense. ~OAKLAND UNIFIED \V SCHOOL DISTRICT Community Schools, Thriving Students RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF THE OAKLAND UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT RESOLUTION NO. 1415-0036 AUTHORIZATION TO DECLARE OBSOLETE COMPUTERS, COMPUTER RELATED ACCESSORIES, FURNITURE, FIXTURES AND EQUIPMENT SURPLUS PROPERTY WHEREAS, the Board of Education of the Oakland Unified School District has received from the Superintendent of Schools a list of District personal property which said Superintendent determined to be obsolete and/or surplus to current District needs; and, WHEREAS, the Superintendent recommends that the Board declare said list of property obsolete, surplus and offer it for sale pursuant to applicable law, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED the Board of Education of the Oakland Unified School District declares said items and quantities listed in attached Exhibit "A" located in the Distribution Center at 900 High Street, Oakland, California, to be obsolete and surplus; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Education authorizes and directs the Superintendent or designee to sell items listed in Exhibit "A" in accordance with Education Code Sections 17545 and 17546, respectively. 1
