Please check each box below that applies and sign this form, certifying that you meet this required training or experience requirement. Fees are nonrefundable. If you have questions on the qualifications, contact the Building Codes Division at 503-373-1268. 2) The division will review your application for required qualifications. Be sure your application includes all required additional documents. An incomplete application will slow the application process. If the application is approved, the division will notify the applicant and mail the exam to the chosen proctor. IMPORTANT APPLICATION INFORMATION Application fees are nonrefundable. You must pass the exam with a score of 75 percent or higher. Applications for the Residential Electrical and Plumbing inspector (CAE and CAP): Certification obtained by a nationally recognized certification body to inspect plumbing or electrical installations in commercial or residential structures according to a recognized code may be granted two years of credit toward experience requirements. For purposes of this application, one year of experience is 2,000 hours. Before you may be approved for any Oregon Code Certification, you must have an active OIC number. May inspect any portion of a solar PV installation up to 25 Kw. May inspect electrical work on manufactured dwelling alterations, manufactured structure accessory buildings and structures, manufactured dwelling installations under the Oregon Manufactured Dwelling Installation Specialty Code, and plan review and inspection of manufactured dwelling parks, recreational park, organizational camps and picnic parks. 1. A current division certification as an Oregon Electrical Specialty Code (EI); 2. Successful completion of a training course for Residential Electrical s administered by the division; 3. Two years experience of installation electrical systems as a Limited Residential Journeyman electrician (LR) or General Journeyman electrician license (J); 4. Two years experience as an electrical inspector in another jurisdiction inspecting electrical installations in commercial or residential structures for compliance with a recognized code for electrical installations; 5. 90 quarter hours or 60 semester hours of education and training in electrical engineering that includes designing and installing electrical systems through an accredited college; 6. Any combination of experience or education totaling three years designing, installing, or inspecting electrical systems listed in subsections (1) to (4); 7. Current division certification as a one- and two-family dwelling or residential inspector under one or more provisions of the Oregon Residential Specialty Code, AND 7A. One year experience administering and enforcing another provision of the Oregon Residential Specialty Code, AND 7B. Certification type and Residential Plumbing (CAP) 918-098-1015 918-098-1210 May conduct inspections for plumbing work regulated by the Oregon Residential Specialty Code and where the connection to the building is not a separate plumbing system. May inspect any portion of a solar water heating system installation up to 180 gallons of storage tank capacity. May inspect plumbing work on manufactured dwelling alterations, manufactured structure accessory buildings and structures, manufactured dwelling installations under the Oregon Manufactured Dwelling Installation Specialty Code, and plan review and inspection of manufactured dwelling parks, recreational park, organizational camps and picnic parks. 1. A current division certification as an Oregon Plumbing Specialty Code inspector (PI); 2. Successful completion of a training course for Residential Plumbing s administered by the division; 3. Two years experience designing and installing plumbing systems as a Journeyman Plumber (JP) or its equivalent; 4. Two years experience as a pluming inspector in another jurisdiction inspecting plumbing installations in commercial or residential structures for compliance with a recognized code for plumbing installations; 5. 90 quarter hours or 60 semester hours of training in mechanical engineering, which includes designing and installing plumbing systems through an accredited college; 6. Any combination of experience totaling three years designing, installing, or inspecting plumbing systems; 7. Current division certification as a one- and two-family dwelling or residential inspector under one or more provisions of the Oregon Residential Specialty Code, AND 7A. One year experience administering and enforcing another provision of the Oregon Residential Specialty Code, AND 7B. Certification type and Electrical Specialty Code (EI) 918-098-1015 918-281-0020 Plumbing Specialty Code (PI) 918-098-1015 918-695-0400 Limited Plumbing, Building Sewer (PIS) 918-695-0400(9) May inspect electrical installations regulated by the Oregon Electrical Specialty Code and the Oregon Residential Specialty Code. May do electrical plan reviews. May inspect any portion of a solar PV installation up to 25 Kw. May inspect plumbing installations regulated by the Oregon Plumbing Specialty Code and the Oregon Residential Specialty Code. May do plumbing plan reviews. May inspect any portion of a solar water heating system installation up to 180 gallons of storage tank capacity. May inspect building sewers from five feet outside the building to the disposal terminal or connection with the main sewer line. 1. Four years experience as a licensed General Journeyman electrician (J) and valid Oregon General Supervising electrician license (S); 2. A four-year Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, plus three years approved experience in design, inspection, or supervision of installations covered by the National Electrical Code or Oregon Electrical Specialty Code. If applying with this type of experience, applicant must also successfully pass the Oregon General Supervising electrician license exam; 3. A combination of experience and training. If applying with this type of experience and training, applicant must also successfully pass the Oregon General Supervising electrician license exam. 1. Three years of employment and experience as an Oregon Journeyman Plumber (JP) or its equivalent; 2. A degree in mechanical engineering or certified professional registration with two years of work experience in plumbing design, installation, or inspection; 3. Four years of work experience exclusively in the inspection of plumbing installations of which at least two years is of commercial, industrial, and multifamily structures; 4. Four years of work experience exclusively in the inspection of residential installations, and the completion of a division-approved plumbing inspector training program; 5. Any combination of experience and training equivalent to subsections (1), (2), (3) and (4); 6. An Oregon Residential Plumbing certification (CAP) issued prior to April 1, 1998 with five years of plumbing inspection experience. 1. An Oregon Journeyman Plumber license (JP); 2. Certification type and Medical Gas Plumbing (MGI) 918-695-0410 Manufactured Structure Construction (MCI) 918-098-1305 May inspect medical gas plumbing installations regulated by the Oregon Plumbing Specialty Code. My conduct medical gas plumbing plan reviews. Conducts field, dealer lot, consumer assistance, alteration, visual and manufacturing plant inspections, reviews plans, and provides technical services for manufactured dwelling manufacturers, dealers, and owners. 1. An Oregon Plumbing Specialty Code certification (PI); AND 2. Valid ASSE 6020 medical gas certification; 3. Successful completion of a training course for Medical Gas Plumbing s administered by the division. 1. Any one of the following meets minimum experience requirements: Two years of experience as a supervisor in the building construction industry; Two years of experience in design work related to building construction; Two years of experience as a certified building inspector or plans examiner; Two years of experience as a quality control inspector in a manufactured structures plant; An associate degree or equal from a divisionapproved education program in a construction-related field; A one year certificate of completion in building inspection technology from a division-approved education program and completion of an 800 hour division-approved inspector in-training program; or Any combination of the experience and education specified above equaling at least two years. 2. Applicant must pass a division-approved examination covering: Oregon Manufactured Dwelling Installation Specialty Code; National Electrical Code (NEC) NFPA 70 (2008 Edition); Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standards Act; Public Law 93-383, Title VI; ORS 446.003 and 446.155 to 446.253; and OAR chapter 918, division 500. 440-2521 (7/16/COM) Page 9

Certification type and Recreational Vehicle (RVI) 918-098-1310 Conducts field, dealer lot, repair operation, alteration, visual and manufacturing plant inspections, reviews plans, and provides other technical services for recreational vehicle manufacturers, dealers, and owners. 1. Any one of the following meets minimum experience requirements: Two years of experience as a supervisor in the building or recreational vehicle construction industry; Two years of experience in design work related to building or recreational vehicle construction; Two years of experience as a divisioncertified building inspector or plans examiner; Two years of experience as a quality assurance inspector in a manufactured structure plant; Two years of experience as a divisioncertified RV quality assurance technician. An associate degree or equivalent from a division-approved education program in a construction-related field; A one year certificate of completion in building inspection technology from a division-approved education program and completion of an 800 hour division-approved inspector in-training program; or Any combination of the experience and education specified above equaling at least two years. 2.
