Rite of Christian Funerals Music Suggestions In selecting music for your funeral liturgy, keep in mind the music books used at the church where the funeral will be held as well as the music that the parish and musicians are familiar with. Parish musicians or staff members would be able to help in this selection. In general, four songs are selected: Opening Song, Song during the Preparation of Gifts, Communion Song, and Recessional Song. Alleluia!
