How Does e Plan Work? Kotak Premier Moneyback Plan is a participating savings cum protection plan which provides lump sum cash payouts at regular intervals depending on e Policy Term and Basic Sum Assured chosen. Your savings will grow wi yearly declared Reversionary Bonuses and lump sum maturity addition to be paid out on maturity. The plan also provides an additional cover for dea due to accident, us providing you wi superior life protection. 3 Regular Payouts This plan provides you wi regular cash backs as percentage of e Basic Sum Assured (BSA) at equal intervals depending on e policy term chosen. The balance Sum Assured is paid out at maturity. Plan Benefits: 4 Dea Benefit : In e unfortunate event of dea due to natural causes (oer an accident) during e term of e policy, e nominee will receive e Sum Assured on dea (as mentioned below) PLUS accrued Reversionary bonuses and Terminal bonus (if any). Terms and Conditions 1. Bonus: Simple Reversionary Bonus: At e end of each financial year e company may declare a bonus expressed as a percentage of e Sum Assured. These bonuses will accrue from 1st year onwards roughout e policy term and will be payable eier on maturity or on dea. Interim Bonus: In e event of a claim, mid-way rough a financial year or before declaration of e Simple Reversionary Bonus for e Financial Year in which such a claim is intimated, an interim bonus (if applicable) may be payable at such a rate as may be decided by # e Company. This bonus will apply to e part of e policy year for which bonus has not been allotted in e earlier Financial Year (i.e. e bonus will apply to e period since bonuses # were last declared). Policy Year means e period from e last policy anniversary date (or e date of commencement for e first year) up to e next policy anniversary date. Terminal Bonus: The Company may decide to pay Terminal Bonus on Dea subject to e condition at premiums have been paid in full and as scheduled for 1 policy years. This bonus will be payable along wi Maturity Benefit and shall be a percentage of e Sum Assured. Terminal Bonuses will not be payable on policies which have been made Reduced Paid-Up or surrendered. 2. Annual Premium: It refers to e amount of premium paid by e Policyholder in a year excluding modal factor loading, if any, e.g. If e policyholder is paying Half-yearly premium of ` 51, an e Annual Premium will be `1, (51, / modal factor of 51%) and loading will be [`51, X 2 (`51,/51%)] i.e. `2,. 3. If e Life Insured is minor, e Policyholder should ensure at e Regular Payouts (survival benefits) received while e Life Insured is still a minor, is used for e benefits of e minor life. 4. Dea Benefit: Following are some additional conditions pertaining to dea benefit: If e dea occurs during grace period, e due unpaid premium and e balance of e premium for at policy year (if any) will be deducted from e dea benefit; For premium paying policies under non-annual premium paying modes, e balance of e premium for at policy year will be deducted from e dea benefit. 5. Exclusions pertaining to in-built Accidental Dea Benefit: Intentional self-inflicted injury, attempted suicide, while being sane or insane; Insured person being under e influence of drugs, alcohol, narcotics or psychotropic substances unless taken in accordance wi e lawful directions and prescription of a Doctor; War, invasion, act of foreign enemy, hostilities (wheer war be declared or not), armed or unarmed truce, civil war, mutiny, rebellion, revolution, insurrection, military or usurped power, riot or civil commotion, strikes; Taking part in any naval, military or air force operation during peace time or during service in any police, paramilitary or any similar organisation; Participation by e insured person in any flying activity, except as a bona fide, fare-paying passenger of a recognized airline on regular routes and on a scheduled timetable; Participation by e insured person in a criminal or unlawful act; 5
Engaging in or taking part in professional sport(s) or any hazardous pursuits, including but not limited to, diving or riding or any kind of race; underwater activities involving e use of breaing apparatus or not; martial arts; hunting; mountaineering; parachuting; bungeejumping; Nuclear Contamination; e radio-active, explosive or hazardous nature of nuclear fuel materials or property contaminated by nuclear fuel materials or accident arising from such nature. 6. Grace Period: There is a grace period of 3 days from e due date for payment of premium for e yearly, half-yearly and quarterly mode, and 15 days for e monly mode. 7. Vesting in case of minor life: If e policy has been taken on e life of a minor, e policy shall automatically vest on him/her wi effect from e date of completion of 18 years of age and e Life Insured will become e Policyholder from such date. 8. Lapses: Policy shall lapse from e due date of e first unpaid premium in accordance wi e following rules and no benefits will be payable: For 16 yr term: If premiums for e first two policy years are not paid wiin e grace period; For 2 yr & 24 yr term: If premiums for e first ree policy years are not paid wiin e grace period. 9. Policy Revivals: A lapsed / Reduced Paid Up policy can be revived wiin two years from e due date of e first unpaid premium. The revival can be done wiout evidence of good heal on payment of e outstanding premiums wi handling charges (currently 9% p.a. of outstanding premiums), if e payment is made wiin six mons. Thereafter to revive e policy, evidence of good heal would be required along wi payment of e outstanding premiums wi handling charges (currently 9% p.a. of outstanding premiums). Extra premiums may be required based on e underwriting decision. Policy will not be eligible for declared bonuses during e lapse period. However, all benefits under e policy will be reinstated on e revival of e policy. If lapsed policy is not revived during e revival period, e policy will be terminated wiout paying any benefits. If policy in Reduced Paid Up mode is not revived during e revival period, it will continue in at mode until maturity. 1. Surrender: For 16 years term, e policy will acquire Surrender Value after payment of full premiums for two consecutive years; For 2 yrs & 24 yrs term, e policy will acquire Surrender Value after payment of full premiums for ree consecutive years. Surrender Value will be higher for Guaranteed Surrender Value or Special Surrender Value. Guaranteed Surrender Value will be calculated as: 6 The Guaranteed Surrender Value (GSV) shall be a percentage of total Premiums paid (excluding Service Tax, Rider premium and Extra Premium, if any) LESS Survival benefits paid, if any PLUS value of Subsisting Bonuses, if any.

On Surrender, all benefits will fall away and e policy will terminate. The surrender value will be paid out as a lump sum benefit. 11. Reduced Paid-Up Policy: After e policy acquires Surrender Value, if e subsequent premiums are not paid wiin e grace period e policy will be converted into a Reduced Paid-Up policy by default. Policy will not be eligible for any future bonuses once it has been converted into a Reduced Paid-Up policy; All rider benefits may or may not cease depending upon rider features; Survival benefits will not be payable while e policy is in Reduced Paid-Up mode; Sum Assured will be converted to Reduced Paid-Up Sum Assured as per e given formula: [Basic Sum Assured (Total Premiums paid / Total Premiums payable over e term)] A Paid-Up policy may be reinstated (to e original benefits) wiin 2 years of e date of becoming Paid-Up (subject to e same conditions outlined for revivals below). 7
Payout on maturity: On maturity of e policy after being paid up, e benefit payable will be e Reduced Paid-Up Basic Sum Assured LESS Survival Benefits already paid PLUS Accrued Reversionary Bonuses, (if any). Payout on dea: On dea of e life insured due to natural causes during e policy term after being paid up, benefit payable will be: [Reduced Paid-Up Sum Assured on dea PLUS Accrued Reversionary Bonuses, (if any)] On dea of e life insured due to accident during e policy term after being paid up, amount of Reduced paid-up Basic Sum Assured will be payable in addition to dea benefit mentioned above. 12. Nomination & Assignment: Nomination will be allowed under e plan as per Section 39 of e Insurance Act, 1938. Fresh nomination (if applicable) shall be made by an endorsement on e policy and by communicating e same in writing to e Company. In case ere is no nomination effected in e policy or in case e nominee dies during e term, e benefit payout will be made to e legal heir(s). Assignment is allowed in is plan as per Section 38 of e Insurance Act, 1938. It may be made by an endorsement upon e policy itself or by a separate instrument signed in eier case by e assignor specifically stating e fact of Assignment and duly attested. Such Assignment shall be operative as against e Company effective from e date at e Company receives a written notice of e Assignment and on confirmation of record of such Assignment. On assignment, any nomination effected under e policy will automatically get cancelled and e Assignee will become e Policyholder. Partial assignment of policy is not allowed. 13. Free Look Period: The policyholder is offered 15 days free look period for a policy sold rough all channels (except for Distance Marketing* Channel which will have 3 Days) from e date of receipt of e policy wherein e policyholder may choose to return e policy wiin 15 days / 3 days of receipt if s/he is not agreeable wi any of e terms and conditions of e plan. Should s/he choose to return e policy, s/he shall be entitled to a refund of e premium paid after adjustment for e expenses of medical examination, stamp duty and proportionate risk premium for e period of cover. *Distance Marketing includes every activity of solicitation (including lead generation) and sale of insurance products rough e following modes: (i) Voice mode, which includes telephone calling (ii) Short Messaging service (SMS) (iii) Electronic mode which includes e-mail, internet and interactive television (DTH) (iv) Physical mode which includes direct postal mail and newspaper & magazine inserts and (v) Solicitation rough any means of communication oer an in person. 14. General Exclusion: In e event of e life insured committing suicide wiin one year of e date of issue of e policy, 8% of e premiums paid will be payable. In case of suicide wiin one year of e date of revival of e policy when e revival is done wiin 6 mons from e date of first unpaid premium, Suicide Exclusion shall not be applicable and e Dea Benefit under e product shall be payable. However, in case of suicide wiin 1 year of e date of revival, when e revival is done after more an 6 mons from e date of first unpaid premium, e benefit shall be higher of 8% of e premiums paid or Surrender Value at e date of claim. For e exclusions relating to accidental dea benefit, refer to e section 4 of e terms and conditions. 8
Section 41 of e Insurance Act, 1938 states: (1)No person shall allow or offer to allow, eier directly or indirectly, as an inducement to any person to take or renew or continue an insurance in respect of any kind of risk relating to lives or property in India, any rebate of e whole or part of e commission payable or any rebate of e premium shown on e policy, nor shall any person taking out or renewing or continuing a policy accept any rebate, except such rebate as may be allowed in accordance wi e published prospectuses or tables of e insurer: Provided at acceptance by an insurance agent of commission in connection wi a policy of life insurance taken out by himself on his own life shall not be deemed to be acceptance of a rebate of premium wiin e meaning of is sub section if at e time of such acceptance e insurance agent satisfies e prescribed conditions establishing at he is a bona fide insurance agent employed by e insurer. (2) Any person making default in complying wi e provisions of is Section shall be punishable wi fine which may extend to five hundred rupees. Section 45 of e Insurance Act, 1938 states: No policy of life insurance effected before e commencement of is Act shall after e expiry of two years from e date of commencement of is Act and no policy of life insurance effected after e coming into force of is Act shall, after e expiry of two years from e date on which it was effected be called in question by an insurer on e ground at statement made in e proposal or in any report of a medical officer, or referee, or friend of e insured, or in any oer document leading to e issue of e policy, was inaccurate or false, unless e insurer shows at such statement was on a material matter or suppressed facts which it was material to disclose and at it was fraudulently made by e policy holder and at e policy holder knew at e time of making it at e statement was false or at it suppressed facts which it was material to disclose: Provided at noing in is section shall prevent e insurer from calling for proof of age at any time if he is entitled to do so, and no policy shall be deemed to be called in question merely because e terms of e policy are adjusted on subsequent proof at e age of e life insured was incorrectly stated in e proposal.
