ORDINANCE NO. 3231 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE B. SOLICITORS OF CHAPTER 9 PEDDLERS AND SOLICITORS OF TITLE 3 OF THE VILLAGE CODE BY ESTABLISHING A PERMIT FEE OF FORTY DOLLARS ($40.00) PLUS RENEWAL FEES FOR REGISTERED SOLICITORS IN THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage Illinois as follows: Section 1: That Section 3-9B-2: Certificate of Registration Required be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 3-9B-2: Certificate of Registration Required/Fee: Every person desiring to engage in soliciting, as herein defined, from persons or residences within this municipality, is hereby required to make written application for a certificate of registration as herein provided, which application must be accompanied by a non-refundable application fee of forty dollars ($40.00). Any individual who wishes to renew the certificate of registration for additional thirty (30) day periods shall be required to pay a fifteen dollar ($15.00) renewal fee for each thirty (30) day period, provided that, no certificate of registration or renewal there of shall be issued for more than a ninety (90) day period. The certificate of registration shall be on the solicitor at all times while engaging in soliciting and shall be located so as to be visible to all persons being solicited. Section 3: That Sections 3-9B-11E and Sections 3-9B-12C are hereby deleted. Section 4: That Article B Solicitors of Chapter 9 Peddlers and Solicitors be further amended by adding thereto the following Section: Section 3-9B-13: Penalty: Any person who violates any of the provisions of this Article B shall be subject to a fine of not less than fifty dollars ($50.00) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) for each offense and a separate offense shall be deemed committed on each day on which a violation occurs or continues to exist.
